That is interesting, and kinda exciting. Is there a website where I can view this cruise ship? The only info I could gather was for a huge ship with the same name, that sunk in 1945 (with a great loss of life).

I don't know about that name??

Yesterday picked up friends from Germany off the Voyager of Seas

repositioning transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Galveston 12/09.

They said there was a rumor on ship about possibility of RCCL Independence of Seas coming to Galveston. Was it a reliable credible source???? Who knows???? They didn't know! Only time will tell.

This would be nice!

Cruise Ship Deutschland , a high end German liner, will arrive Monday and dock for 2 day port of call. 560 passengers plan to Tour Galveston and Houston and will depart Tuesday.

Did they go anywhere else instead? The Port of Galveston was closed on Monday due to heavy fog.

Yes. Im sure they tried to go elsewhere, but not sure if they succeeded,

because the coastlines of Texas, Louisanna, Alabama, and Florida were all affected....

and intermitently blanketed with fog causing problems in alot of ports of the Gulf.

This was a result of two weather systems.

One from northern Pacific cold air front system out of far northwest .....

combining with warmer southern Pacific warm system being pulled over across Mexico to entire Gulf Coast

and combining with moisture of Gulf to cause the fog.

We just got off Vogager and also heard from a Vogager staff member,

not a high up one, that a Freedom class ship may be coming to Galveston.

Could not confirm on ship though

from anyone that seemed important.

Funny to see someone mention Palacios. We have some properties there- 2 of which are for sale- and rented out... we love that area. Or my mom and I do. My dh thinks there is not enough to do.

Makes me think I am out of shrimp, and need to go check those properties.

Funny to see someone mention Palacios also.

Been going there all my life.

Property on Carancahua Bay.

Miss the place.

The pavillon, old hotel, Peterson's restuarant for a flash from the past.

Son lives there now.

Im never out of shrimp for Im living in Galveston now.

My problem is.... we have to watch the cruise ships come and go

on the weekends .....and I want to be on everyone.:D
