I don't agree with your keeping odds working on Come out Rolls though.

The come out roll is the same as any other roll. One chance in six of a seven being rolled. I have to admit, that I am usually the only one at the table that does this. More often than not, most people at the table are not even playing come bets.

Do you hedge your bets with a any 7 bet in the come out roll? That's what I do

You have to think of every bet as a seperate bet.

The Big Red (7) pays 4-1, I believe, when the odds are 5-1 against. That is a lousy bet.

Why hedge a good bet (odds bets that pay true odds) with a lousy bet? I would not do that in a million years.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO btyko: The Come Out Roll is not quite the same as any other roll. It is different. On a Come Out roll you win on a seven or eleven if you bet the Pass Line. On other rolls once the seven is rolled you lose. Not on a Come Out roll though. Seven is the most likely number to be rolled since it has more combinations than any other number. There are six ways to make seven. five ways to make eight or six, four ways to make four or nine, and three ways to make four or ten. That is why most people don't play that way.

I know all that.

When I say it is the same as any other roll, I mean in regard to my come bets. My come bets and odds will lose (statistically) one time out of six on the come out roll, the same as the roll before or the roll after. I can't do anything about that, other than to have odds working (same as any other roll), to lower the overall odds against me.

I stand corrected!!!!! ERRRRRRR!!!!!! I didn't even play on this ship as it was a nightmare cruise in terms of stability and rocky seas. I confused my big win with the Celebrity Millenium I went on. Hopefully, it will work out this time. LOL

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Yo Eleven:I wish you good luck in the Casino. I also wish you good luck that you don't get rocky seas. I've been in rough weather on the water. It could be very rough. That is when I rolled eleven consecutive times with at least one die going off the table. I hope you have good food too.

When I was on a ship from RCCL the food was bad, the service was bad, however, I did have a couple of really good days in the Casino and came out ahead.

Just off the Allure of the Seas. Bad food? Were there worms or weevils in it? How come the guys who throw down $1500 on the table, proceed to play all the worst bets like the horn bet and hardways, typically also loose all their money in about 10 minutes, then come back again and do the same thing over and over? Beats the heck out of me.

The tables were cold except for one night. Even the dark siders were loosing.

'Cuz they like to gamble?

Just thought they might "gamble"smarter, but perhaps they are basically high risk takers, hence they have so much money?

I stuck with PASS LINE/odds and numbers and made out OK overall.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO cruzincurt: The high risk takers thrive on taking the big risks. The math of the game is against them. It is smarter to bet the Pass Line or Don't Pass, Come or Don't Come, or place bets on the six and/or eight. Full odds on Pass Line bet and/or Come/Don't Come bets.

Generally whatever you play - the "odds" won't catch up to you in a couple hours of rolls. . . It is better to be lucky than good. .. We aren't talking thousands of rolls/hands here. So whatever you hit in hard ways and other prop bets are just that - risk reward. . . Your -0.437% theoretical odds aren't what determines whether you make or lose money. .

If that was the case - everybody would lose because the house holds the odds on every game. There is a "gambling" aspect involved.

I'm looking forward to my upcoming EPIC trip. Hear so much about NCL being "casino" friendly. ;) On the Allure last week there was probably only 20 regulars to the two craps tables and only warm one night so I broke even on craps and pittered it away on video poker just to pass the time.

Is Royal Caribbean still offering only single odds at the craps table? Very little benefits for high rollers? If nothing has changed, I will continue to avoid RCCL.

Yes, single odds. I don't even think they had a short time double odds event. The craps table was never even hot enough to have a pit boss sit down. A few hours they offered $6 blackjack. They have the big video blackjack and three card machines for $2. The high rollers appeared to be invited to join the casino club and were given a pile of drink coupons.

I think some may have been comped cabins as some cabin doors had special nameplates regarding the casino player club or Club Royale.

I did hit two royal flushes on the video poker machines. That makes four in my life time so far.

That's unfortunate that the craps tables on the Allure weren't hot. Glad you won @ vid poker though!

I 'll be on there next week and I hope to have some fun in the casino, primarily @ the craps tables.. How was the Casino in general? Pretty good atmosphere?

The Allure casino was pretty subdued with the same regulars there every night. My wife always plays Let it Ride and a lady she sat next to every night hit a straight flush for $4,000. My wife hit a couple of good ones as well. There are two craps tables, one on the smoking side, one on the non-smoking. The smoking side usually had the largest crowd of serious bettors even though most were not smoking. The non-smoking side seemed to have the bet $20 and leave crowd.

What is annoying is when they have raffles and all the casual people show up making a crowd. Often times those of us playing never got any raffle tickets. One guy's wife standing next to us at the craps table did win the raffle for $200 one night.

I did notice some of the craps dealers often missed payouts so you have to watch. Also, sometimes they screwed up on the Come bets. Several times they even let my PASS line bet ride after a 7 out. Hey, it's not my job to help them do their job! They were distracted chit-chatting with each other. Look forward to your report.

cruzincurt,

How was the craps table itself? Felt or microfiber? Bouncy? How were they with hitting the wall with both dice? Any slack there?

I'm sailing on the Enchantement of the seas one week from today. I haven't been on Royal Caribbean since 2007 and don't know what to expect.

The 1x odds doesn't bother me at all. Most of my winnings come from hitting box numbers. I'm guessing that their bet max is either $200 or $300.

I think the max was $300. Most people missing the backwall appeared to be first timers or old ladies throwing from the end. They would let the roll stand but tell them to throw harder.

I don't know what the fabric was but I didn't think the table was bouncy. Due to the low activity, I never saw a pit boss sit in. They would never let Pass line bets go uncollected. So things were a bit loose. Since the tables were never hot for long, I never saw them disrupt the flow by bringing in chips. I was on one ship, maybe HAL, were the pit boss didn't like people setting the dice to throw. I always set the dice.

Thank you!! It annoys me when I have to pull craps dealers away from their conversations to complete payouts, so I'll keep a close watch ;-)

I'll post about my experiences when I get back on the 13th :) - hopefully I'll win enough to purchase next cruise - LOL

thanks again.
