Craps Players Step Inside!

It doesn't make any sense, when they do open the other side, another dealer just shows up and they move some chip stacks over to him. Perhaps if the table is empty, tell them you'll be back when the other side is open. Sounds to me they are just being lazy.
I'll bet the box person (OUCH!!!) knows (or checks) how much is in the rack being moved.

But first and foremost... The floor people are the ones who are rating me. I do NOT want to develop a high WQ - "wiseguy quotient" - with them. Might well affect my comps!

Andy the K,

If you are the only player at the table they will accommodate your preference for which side of the table you want to shoot from. My Carnival Valor cruise I was just on I was the first player at the table every evening and if the dealer was on the left side and saw me coming, he would automatically shift to the right side to accommodate me. If you are toking the crew they will jump through hoops for you.

"If the shooter does not seven out or make his point, eventually they will announce "last three rolls." "Last two rolls." "Last roll." Here is a hint...Whenever it gets down to "last roll," and it does not happen often, bet the table max on the come. If the last roll is a seven or eleven (8 chances), you win. If the last roll is a craps (4 chances) you lose. Any other roll, you get the come bet back. Odds are two to one in your favor. You will never get better odds than that in a casino." That's my strategy when I am in a craps tournament. I will hedge with a "any craps" bet to cover the bet.

So I want to play around $20 on a $5 table. What is better PASS with 3X odds or PASS 1X with place the 6 & 8?
Depends on what rolls first, the point or the 6 or 8. Make sure you bring your crystal ball to know for sure.

I have a question for anyone here who has worked craps tables. On my upcoming cruise, I expect the table to be lightly patronized - often I am the only player. So, they only open one half of the table. I am strictly right-handed and prefer the RS1 ir 2 position. If they open the left half, is it a bad breach of etiquette to ask them to change to the right half, or should I just play on the open side?
I have never worked a cruise ship, JUST 15 years experience in Las Vegas as a dealer and a supervisor. At some casinos you the player are given the "Take it or leave it" option. In other words, "This is how we run OUR casino, if you don't like it, go spend your $$ somewhere else". At others it's "The customer is KING", if you want the base dealer to move 6 feet one way or the other so that YOU are comfortable, that is what we are going to do for you the player.

It doesn't make any sense, when they do open the other side, another dealer just shows up and they move some chip stacks over to him. Perhaps if the table is empty, tell them you'll be back when the other side is open. Sounds to me they are just being lazy.
Sounds like you are right to me. OR some dealers are better at dealing one base and not the other. OR they were not very customer service oriented.

Me, I am comfortable rolling from any position on the table. I can roll a 7 when there is a point from anywhere.

A short quick synopsis. Someone found a malfunction with the machines. He found if you put like a $5 bet on the pass line and timed it at just the right time he could put a $100 bet down and if he lost the machine would take his lower bet but if he won the machine would pay the $100 bet. The racinos found it after a couple months when the machines were losing money. They tried to go after the players but they were only doing what the machines allowed. So they are going after the manurfacturers to get the money back. That would have been nice to know.

Hello folks,

I don't see anyone mentioning fire bets. Do cruise casino's offer this bet? Princess specifically?

The 1st time I played I had a hit for 1 k on a 1 dollar fire bet. So I am addicted now. :;

Oops also, is 500$ a large enough bankroll for 7 day cruise on golden princess? I usually bring 1000$ at the casino I play at. However table minimum is 10 to 15 dollars.

Thanks

I just got back from sailing on the Carnival Fantasy and have a question.

I was rolling at the straight out position and have a coule of non players come up and start asking questions. I ignored them as I was rolling, so they began directing questions to the dealer and he was answering back. The conversation was going on in front and across my throw area.

I found it breaking my concentration and very frustrating. I seven'd out and took my chips to the other end of the table to play.

My question is should I have said something or is this just part of play?

TIA.

Any recent experience with the dice table on the Carnival Pride? Looks like I'll be on her in January, about a month after my cruise on the Epic. My first two times on the Epic were very good for dice, interestingly on both cruises the table by the cashier was were I made the most money.

I like nothing better than seeing a guy on the dark side go down in flames.:D

Dark side player here! I even shoot playing the Don't.

Did it once in a San Juan casino, the whole table cleared out and left me standing there alone! And here I always thought Roulette players were the most superstitious players in the casino.

That's funny. I believe the dark side is actually the better way to play. I've done it a couple times but everyone else at the table got annoyed with me rooting for a 7.

Playing the Don't is better by .02 percentage points, if the table offers double odds.

Playing the Pass line and the house edge is .86%

Playing the Don't and the house edge is .84%.

I notice most dark side players are generally huddled over in the corner of the table and whisper to the dealer about correct odds and are generally very quiet. I'm annoyed by people yelling for a 7 on the Come out roll when I have some Come bets down.

Yeah I've seen that. Crap is still my favorite game. No tables like crap tables. Funny, we did a tour of the city of Pompeii in Italy that was destroyed by Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. After they uncovered the city they started searching through the buildings there. They found that some of the people liked to roll dice and they found several sets of them. Sure enough one of the sets was loaded. I didn't know I had any relatives there.

OK, new question.

Sailed the Carnival Fantasy with a friend who is a hard core Craps Player.

He got me betting $6 Action ($3 each craps). We didn't do it all the time and made decent money at it. And as usual, I gave it back and then some.

Is this a sucker bet?

Craps is 2, 3, or 12. A popular bet is "any craps" plus "eleven" ("yo"). Would this have been your $6 bet ($3 C and $3 E)?

Is this a sucker bet?

Generally, on the Craps table, a "sucker" bet is one in which the payout is considered poor with respect to the true odds. In this regard, all of these proposition bets are not favourable. Of course, some are poorer than others. The payout you're being "cheated" upon will, normally, range from 11 to 16 2/3%.

Often, players will use a proposition bet to "hedge" their pass-line contract, to tip ("toke") the table crew, or just for fun (because they're currently winning).
