Kathy130 Posted July 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2009 Will be pulling into port next week. We are the only ship in port. How far is it to the Oceanic Museum? Walking distance? Other method of transport? Thanks for any info. I am meeting my French cousin there.

texancruzer Posted July 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2009 Depending on exactly where you will dock.....it should be walkable. The area is like a big U with the "rock" area (palace, Oceanagraphic Museum, gardens and cathedral with Princess Grace and Prince Rainier) on one side of the U and the "downtown" area of Monte Carlo on the other with the harbor in the middle. It is quite hilly but there are elevators from the parking area below the rock to the top..... and also from the bottom area to the top of the hill right in front of the casino. The harbor area is really nice with lots of big fancy yachts so even if you have to walk around the U it is a pleasing view :D We enjoyed the museum ALOT but we are both divers. Wish we had more time there ...... believe it was 11 euros each.
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2009 It is about a fifteen minute walk from the main area where many of the cruise ships dock. You can either walk up steps to get to that level or take the elevator. You could also take a taxi. It is a great ocean museum and aquarium. Enjoy! Cruise Junky Posted July 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2009 Its walkable but up a big freakin hill. There's a bus stop at the bottom, we took that for 1 Euro. Walking up that hill was just not worth the sweat. The Aquarium was awesome.
