What is homeland security looking for?

Reading another thread got me thinking what are they looking for when they go over the manifest before sailaway? Are they only looking for terrorists? Or is it also criminals, people who didn't pay their taxes or their bills etc...?

No one knows what "homeland security" does, or is looking for....If you aren't a danger to your fellow countrymen, then you shouldn't be too worried....if you get arrested without reason, contact FOX news...they'll get the word out!

Your answer is so true. That is one of the biggest offenders they will catch. Once they have them, they will finally get them to either pay up or go to jail.

From what I understand, when HS was formed, other agencies were placed under it, in order to share info better. So they handle a wide variety of crimes.

They do check over the passengers names.

A couple of years ago, on one of our cruises, while we were checking in, 4 security people excorted a couple out of the terminal. I asked on the ship -- they were denied boarding for reason not given to me.
