jean-lynd Posted September 5, 2009 #28 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Last summer chairs were $5 and umbrellas were $10. I'm guessing that if chairs are now $6 then umbrellas have probably gone up too. I hope this helps! Enjoy!
cruising grandma Posted September 5, 2009 #29 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Yep, I think we're talking about the same area...see attached...the deck/cabana just past Royal Palms Yes, that's the one and the beautiful home behind it!
NCMtnBoys Posted September 14, 2009 Author #30 Share Posted September 14, 2009 We just returned from Royal Palms. It was a great choice to spend our time in Grand Cayman. Water was warm, plenty of lounge chairs, food was good. The lounge chairs were $6 each and the umbrella was $10. Taxi from the ship was $4 per person each way. We were the only ship in port that day, so no crowd problems.
Nik Posted January 18, 2010 #31 Share Posted January 18, 2010 Has anyone been to the Royal Palms recently? Do you know what the cost is to rent chairs, umbrella's? Have been to Sea Grape a number of times, but haven't been to Royal Palms. Thought we might try it out next week. Any comments.
bookbabe Posted January 18, 2010 #32 Share Posted January 18, 2010 A sign said chairs were $7 when we stopped in over Christmas.

jedokids Posted January 22, 2010 #34 Share Posted January 22, 2010 We went to Royal Palms in Dec. when we were on a Princess cruise and we went to Sea Grape in Jan. when we were on a Carnival Cruise. Here are the differences -- Taxi to Royal Palms was $4 per person Taxi to Sea Grape was $5 per person (each way) The lounge chairs were lined up at Royal Palms and were $7 per chair. The chairs at Sea Grape were in a stack and you had to carry them where you wanted -- there was a $20 deposit for the chairs and they were $8 per chair. The Umbrellas at Royal Palms were $10 each and they put them in the sand for you. There were no umbrellas at Sea Grape because they said it was too windy. The beers at Royal Palms were $5.50 each. The beers were $5 each at Sea Grape but you had to pay a $5 deposit on the plastic bucket. Margaritas and blended drinks were $6.95 to $8.95 at both places. The prices on the food was comparable at both places. All the prices are in Cayman dollars so you need to add 25% for US Dollar. Most of the sandwiches were around $12. For 2 fish sandwiches, fries, one beer and two ice teas was $33! The ice tea comes in a small plastic cup and NO free refills! I would definitely go back to Royal Palms and NOT Sea Grape! I thought it was a much prettier beach, with more room and nicer lounge area!
