We enjoy the "Jewell class" ships the most have been on 3 of them, doing the Pearl again in 2019...Loved each of our cruises with NCL but our last one in Jan of 2017 on the Jade was by far our best cruise and experience...Really liked the ship (before refurbish) thought the service and crew were great...Looking forward to our next...

ok so which midsize ncl ship is your fave and why and which one has the most pools?

My favorite is Breakaway, which is definitely not midsize.

I'd say Pearl would be my favorite midsize ship. Not too big, not to small. Just right, and the Alaska Glacier Bay cruise is my favorite itinerary and is definitely a bucket list cruise.

Any of the Jewel class ships -- Jewel, Jade, Gem, Pearl.

I like The Great Outdoors, and the huge Spinnaker observation lounge with floor to ceiling windows on three sides.

I also like that there are tables facing windows in the library, some with computers but some not.

I don't know about pools since I never use them.

Love the Jewel class ships,; the great outdoors, Spinacker lounge, casino in its own room, Blue Lagoon.

Hate the Breakaway, too many people and not enough public space in comparison. Dislike the shows in the atrium, should be in a Spinacker type lounge.

I have only been on the Breakaway but after looking at the other choices we are choosing it again for the third time. Reason: Rarely feels crowded. Good food and drink choices, but wish it had a beer place and a mojito place! And love Rock of Ages, best show ever on a cruise ship. Also wish there were more places around the pool in the top deck layout. The ship is even better now that my daughter is 18. She did not like Entourage, or being forced into the kiddie pool (she was told to leave the main pool twice even though she acted completely like an adult at age 16.)

Also enjoyed Rock of Ages on the BA, but the best I have seen is We Will Rock You on RCCL Anthem. Worth seeing.

I love the Dawn, followed closely by the Gem.

Why------

The Dawn's pool area with the stadium seating, great friendly staff and crew, the promenade deck for walking, Patti and Jose when they are aboard.

The only negativity was the moving of the Spinnaker Lounge to the back of deck 7. The only windows are alongside the back if the room.

We enjoyed our 10 day cruise on the Gem with it's Great outdoors, the spinnaker Loung still in place, there was a slide at the time we were onboard, DH and I enjoyed playing ping pong on the pool deck.

We like the feel of mid-sized ships, and we don't have to make reservations in the MDR or theater.

When NCL orders more new-builds, I'd like to see them as midsized. For ammenities, please include a dedicated movie theater with stadium seating. The atrium is not a comfortable place to enjoy a film----too much distraction from passers-by. We noticed this while watching movies in the Gem's atrium.
