  1. Have you reported those posts? Definitely against posting guidelines.
  2. So he deliberately, and knowingly flouted the rules and in doing so risked the health and possibly life of his infant, just so he could get a cheap cruise? Being banned for life is still too good for this selfish (fill in the four letter blank). I hope Karma pays him a visit.
  3. The Crown had half the decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. The rest were up the next day. While we were at sea.
  4. I'll assume for the sake of argument that the previous port was in a Schengen country, so no passport clearance is necessary when the client disembarks. And for the sake of argument, I'll assume the client can carry off her own luggage. But if the ship arrives at 0800, it's likely they won't be allowed off until the ship is cleared to disembark, which could easily be 0830. Then they have to get through the terminal, find a taxi or whatever, and drive to the airport during rush hour. Most airlines advise an arrival minimum of 3 hours before an international flight, since they need time for check in, security, as well as exit Passport Control before proceeding to the gate. How big a gambler is the client? If ANYTHING goes wrong and they are delayed at any point, they run the very real risk of missing their flight. I would think that any reputable travel consultant would lay out all of the risks to the client, plus the alternative of flying the next day, and leave the decision to the client.
  5. In addition to the advice given, if you are new to Europe, learn a bit about how things are done in Europe before you go. Rick Steves has 2 guidebooks specifically aimed at cruisers. One for the Med and one for Scandinavia/Baltic. He also has an introductory guidebook that gives general, but valuable information to any traveller to Europe, called Europe Through the Back Door. European cruises tend to be Port intensive, so the whiz bang bells and whistles of the mega theme park ships aren't as important in the grand scheme of things. Most of your day will be spent ashore, and you may well be too tired by dinner time to want to do much more. Concentrate on the itinerary that most interests you ( and don't forget to look at how many hours you will have are each port), then look at the ships with that itinerary.
  6. Wrong forum. Ask your question on the Princess forum. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/119-princess-cruises/
  7. Just got off the Crown's 28 day cruise yesterday. There was Covid on the ship. Both pax and crew that I knew disappeared for 5-6 days and then reappeared and told us about being quarantined. It wasn't rampant, but sufficient that the Captain recommended masks inside after we left Tahiti. Not many followed the request. Lots of snorting and chesty coughs were heard, so other respiratory bugs were likely at work as well. We masked whenever inside, on excursion buses, and on our flights, used sanitizer religiously, and knock on wood we are home and still healthy.
  8. I'm surprised she would even contemplate travel in this situation. She can't re enter Canada without a valid passport ( and her visa, if required).
  9. You could try asking on the help forum: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/859-need-help-using-the-forums-check-here/
  10. First, you are talking about the Chief Security Officer position. A 3 stripe officer who reports directly to the Captain/Staff Captain. Not the boots on the ground security officers who work around the ship. And secondly, your remarks give off a strong xenophobic whiff that I think the cruise lines would like to avoid. You need to be a 'Murican or Brit to get the respect this position deserves by other 'Murican officials? Other nationalities with equal credentials or qualifications need not apply? Hopefully those responsible for hiring into these positions are more open minded.
  11. Typically you might tip your cabin steward or MDR staff extra on the last day, if you feel the service merits something over the daily gratuities you are already paying. Room service would be tipped in your cabin.Tips are automatically added for the bar staff in your bar tab. You could, if you choose carry a few dollar bills for extra tips if you choose. But carrying a wallet around, with all the usual ID, credit cards, bank cards, and larger denomination cash is unnecessary. Shove the small bills in a pocket or whatever you use to carry your phone, sanitizer, tissues etc.
  12. The British Isles cruises have many ports to choose from. There are only 2 ports listed for the Netherlands- Amsterdam and Rotterdam, one of which is an embarkation port. So do you want a cruise with multiple port calls? Throw us some info. What itineraries are you (not) talking about?
  13. What he said^^^^. Just show up at the dining room that is open, during open hours, and wait your turn to be seated.
  14. Try looking at booking.com for your hotel options, using the filters, then book on the Marriott site
  15. You may find more help on the Disabilities Forum. Try doing a search for Dialysis at Sea on that forum. You mayfind your choice of cruiseline restricted to a few if you are doing hemodialysys vs peritoneal.
  16. It's the weekend. Things always seem to get screwed up on the weekend. Try again on Monday.
  17. kindly tell us what your Elite status could possibly have to do with anything relating to this subject.

    MUTS

It was shown on MUTS on the Crown this week, but in the 21+ days of this cruise so far, every movie on MUTS has also been available in the stateroom. The only exceptions have been a couple of concerts films which were only shown on MUTS in the afternoon
  19. Had pub lunch in the MDR today on the Crown. This was the second one on this cruise.
  20. Try asking on the RCI forum: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/51-royal-caribbean-international/
  21. Unless you are incredibly careless, you're probably safer on a ship than at a resort. Keep your valuables in the safe. I don't leave my phone lying around in the open, but I have left it in my bag on my lounger while in the pool. As mentioned, there are CCTV cameras everywhere in the public areas. I'm sure any request for assistance to security would be given all the attention that it deserved.
  22. Highly unlikely you would be bumped. Just as it's unlikely it would be oversold.
  23. We booked our 7:20 dining time online before boarding (Botticelli). After dinner the first night we asked the Maitre d' for the same table each night. Every night since then we just show up and are waved in with them saying " your table is waiting, enjoy your dinner". Very simple. Very quick.
  24. I've noticed no difference in the decor or service. (Although we've only eaten lunches in Da Vinci) Nor have I seen a long line at the entrance to Botticelli except for the first night. The only difference is that you can't walk, straight back on deck 6 to get to Botticelli; you need to use the aft stairs/elevators to reach it. We have a standing reservation, same table in Botticelli and just walk in and sit down.
  25. Jon Persson, Sebastian Jamenez, and Mary Simon are scheduled today.
