  1. This. Getting a shuttle back to the airport just to get the cruise line shuttle back to the port is a waste of time and money. Just get a shuttle or taxi from your hotel to the port.
  2. When you search for Aeroplan tickets, when you see the options displaying mixed cabin you can hover over them with your mouse and it will show the percentage of the flights in the specified cabin. Then when you click on the option it will open up boxes from which you can choose your reward, and that will specify which flights are in economy rather than PE. I think a 1:30 connection in ZRH is plenty, but everybody has to go with their own comfort level so either one of the options would work too. Tell your cousin to make sure she checks out the business class options as well - often they aren't that many points more than PE and you have lounge access as well.
  3. To where? London has several large stations, serving different parts of the country. All are easily accessible by cab.
  4. According to Google Maps, a city bus will get you within spitting distance of your hotel.
  5. American Express regularly has this type of deal that you can register for in your online account - spend X amount with a merchant and get Y credit on your card. In order for this to work the merchant's name has to appear under the charge on the card, thus the need to book directly with NCL. This is an AMEX-driven promotion, not a NCL one.
  6. It has to do with something called "married segments"; they are offering the business segment as part of the LAS-SEA-LHR itinerary, but not as a standalone ticket. I have seen it before, but I couldn't expound on the business reasons why.
  7. Reading your post, 2 things occur to me: you need to research the different cruising areas and itineraries, and you need to study a map of North America. Because I'm not sure you realize the vastness of the area you're looking to travel to, or the limitations in terms of cruising availability and seasons.
  8. Just wanted to point out that, if your actual disembarkation port is Ravenna, that Venice isn't your only airport option. Bologna would be closest, and even Florence and Milan could be included in the mix. Of course, you need to consider your flight options from each to see what combination is the most convenient.
  9. Local ship-spotter here 🙂 The absolute best spot for watching ships leave from berths 22 and 21 is at the top of the multi-storey parking lot built alongside berth 22 (official name SPAQ Place des Canotiers). There are 2 ways for a pedestrian to access this : via the entrance off rue Dalhousie and elevator, or by taking the outside staircase running along the side facing the adjoining park. The reward is this view: The first picture shows the end of the staircase, and the viewing platform where you can see the ships, with the other two being the view from the end of the platform of the Zaandam (berth 22) and Ocean Explorer (berth 21). Now, if the ship you want to see is at berth 30, that's a bit more complicated. You can't go alongside the terminal there; but all is not lost. You can go behind the grain elevators (you can see them in the 3rd photo) and watch as the ship sails, but it's a bit of a hike, especially on foot. However, you could still see the ship sail away from the parking lot platform - the ship would enter the river just past that grey tower that you see beside the Ocean Explorer in the above photo.

    WestJet

We flew WestJet coming home from London, just before the lockdown (March 2020), LGW-YYZ-YQB. Our first time crossing the Atlantic in economy in years (our flight there was on points in business), and it was quite pleasant.
  11. I usually go to Accuweather; on the top menu, you can click on 'Monthly', and choose the month of your visit for the previous year, giving you what the temperatures actually were on a given date.
  12. The TK lounge alone is reason to keep your current flights, although if I'm being honest I did slightly prefer the lounge at the old IST - a bit more insular... The only advantage to the LX rooting is that if your ZRH-FCO flight were cancelled you do have the option of hopping on a train, but as YUL has had its own flight/luggage-handling issues I would just stick with TK. Dang, now I'm going to be craving mint lemonade for the rest of the day...
  13. So let me get this straight: you're flying the day of the cruise departure, on a flight that (according to Delta's website) gets into FLL at 3:41 pm, and hoping to embark on a ship leaving at 4 pm? Because that is literally impossible. You need to switch to the 7 am flight, because as things stand now you will miss your ship.
  14. I remember a few years ago flying on BA with an overnight layover in London. I could not check in for the second flight (LHR-YUL) until 24 hours before that flight, even though I was flying out of FCO the day before. Checked in online while relaxing in my London hotel room the night before :).
  15. What airport in Canada? Most have US Preclearance, but if you're flying from Quebec City/YQB, it still hasn't been set up there, despite having been announced in 2016 *le sigh*.
  16. Good for Delta. BA is getting absolutely walloped over at FT for all of their delays and cancellations, with many flyers saying that they're schedule is too ambitious, considering the staffing and other issues they've been having. At least Delta is being pro-active in trying not to leave passengers in the lurch.
