@DaKahuna Our go to pre cruise hotel has been the Renaissance. However, that room you have is head and shoulders above the renaissance. Although, we do like the convenience to port and restaurants.

The only ncl ship we have been on was the ta encore back in 2019. We loved the cruise and ship. Worried about inside space given recent comments on this class of ship. We love the itinerary and are pretty easy going but do like to be able to book shows and specialty restaurants. Any tips or suggestions you may have to share would be greatly appreciated.

We have been diamond plus on rccl for a while. Most recent rccl cruises were harmony in January 2023 (oasis class is our favorite) and the jewel in November of 2023. We are going back on the jewel in may of this year specifically because of the itinerary ( Norwegian fjords and arctic circle). main dining on our last few cruises on rccl was just ok. For us, we cruise mostly on rccl for entertainment and ship. Since we have seen most of the shows multiple times, it is now less important to us. However, we have had many terrific cruises on rccl and were very loyal for a long time. We do like celebrity and have cruised with them 6 times and will in September on silhouette. We select cruises now based on itinerary and cost.

Beautiful cabin except for that dreaded shower curtain.

Looking at cruising in the viva next march. Haven’t seen any reviews from San Juan. Thanks!

@GenerationX good hotel choice. Stayed there when it was new on points and enjoyed it. We tend to stay closer to the port. Hotel Maren gets great reviews as well. Have a great cruise!

If you are looking for a very casual over the water experience, I recommend Bugaloe’s palm beach. steak/seafood - madame Janette - seafood/steak daniels - steak - palm beach ruinas Del Mar - Hyatt - seafood/steak - outside dining is terrific oak - steak/seafood - need to plan far out - very small dining room Never been but we have friends that recommend (expensive) 2 fools and a bull. all of these have good websites to review. Also, most can be reserved using open table. aruba is our first choice in land vacations. There are quite a lot of van taxis that would have room for a wheel chair

I hope this has a better ending than we did back in November. We got on our plane. Ended up having to get off. 8 hours after being at the airport, we are sent to retrieve our luggage and then line up for hotel, meal and taxi vouchers of which only the taxi vouchers worked. safe travels home and thanks for taking us along with you! 😊
