  1. On our boat there were a lot of older folk that had a hard time. I was the "do nothing". It was a fun experience though I wouldn't do it again.
  2. If you are in good shape and want a workout, you might want to try the America Cup's excursion in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten.
  3. We've been sailing on Seven Seas, Radisson now known as Regent since 1992 and have never had a disappointing cruise.
  4. Do take a look at the link in #5 from Gilly as the photos and her blog is an accurate depiction of the ship today. We are on deck 6 midship and quite comfortable. We've had multiple sailings on Song of Flower (so sad that she's gone), Navigator, Mariner and Voyager.
  5. That miso marinated Sea Bass last night was DELICIOUS! Happy New Year!
  6. Great photos. Sorry that you missed the Wizards steel band as they were really good and had people dancing.
  7. Our first cruise with was back in 1992 on the Song of Flower and Hanseatic before the ships became Regent. We were on the Mariner and Voyager complimentary shakedown cruises for Seven Seas Society members when the ships came out of the shipyard...that is when the Seven Seas Society was small. We have also sailed with Seabourn, Silversea and Viking. When it comes to why we come back to Regent, over and over for us its because of the CREW, comfortable ships and no nickel and diming.
  8. Yes, they are Vero Sail & Sustain that you can refill from stations around the ship. As yet, we haven't used ours, but the water from the stations is really good.
  9. Techno123 - Especially coughing and sneezing into the elbow rather than the hands would help things immensely.
  10. Am on the Navigator now and service throughout has been outstanding. Last night at Prime 7 the daily catch was Corvino that was great as was the Dover Sole. In the Observation Lounge I couldn't get a French Chardonnay, but no problem in Prime 7 or the Navigator Lounge. I don't like that the spa automatically adds a 20% service charge on their already high prices. It is what it is though.
  11. Yes, we got an email to watch the safety video again. There was a link in the email and it was a different video.
  12. We do. A card, money, candy.... Once our cabin attendant was talking about a dress in the shop that she liked so I took her to the shop and bought it for her for Christmas.
  13. Crossing the Drake Passage can either be like a lake, like what you experienced or even worse. As someone who has been to the Antarctic twice, when going to the Antarctic one has to be prepared for the unexpected. I am so very sorry that someone died, another broke her leg and that people were bleeding. It was as you say a very traumatic experience. You can't blame Viking or any other cruise line for a rogue wave, weather or a malfunction of a zodiac.
  14. Try certified mail or whatever it is in Canada. Return Receipt so someone signs for the mail. 🙂
  15. For a claim filed in mid July, we received credit November 7.
  16. One might not want SS choice of hotel.
  17. If using Chase for a claim, don't hold your breath waiting for the claim to be paid. Requests for same documents over and over. It's been going on since early August with Card Benefit Services. Now the claim is still in hands of someone who manages claims at Alliaz and the claim is permanently "Pending" with never ending requests for additional documentation. As I said, "Don't hold your breath waiting for a claim to be paid." The reason for this air fare only claim was caused by an unexpected open abdominal aneurysm repair.
  18. So you are blaming Azamara for something that was caused by the government of Qatar?
  19. As it was the travel authorities in Qatar that closed the port and blocked cruise ships, you can't blame Azamara for the change in itinerary. It seems to me as if Azamara has done the best they can with the hand that they have been dealt.
  20. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting awfully tired of the supply chain Covid excuses....not just with cruise lines.
  21. I have to agree with you that those wines certainly don't sound as if they were premium. We don't care about a butler. Glad that you had a great time!
  22. But, but, but - If I understand it correctly, if you are leaving from a US port, you need a negative test.
