  1. If you are a large group with luggage that won't fit in a cab, book a private shuttle, not shared, with that time frame.
  2. You are a terrific writer! Thank you for taking the time for this. We leave on the Horizon two weeks from today! All checked in and ready go to. This review will keep my enthusiasm at max until then. Can't wait for more!
  3. FTTF doesn't get the 16 day check in. They check in at 14 days. I know from reports here that isn't the case (at least most likely), but for our upcoming horizon cruise from Miami we have a suite and just for an email from carnival that says: Suite guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred Arrival Appointment. Please visit My Cruise Manager on Carnival.com starting at 16 days prior to sailing to complete your Online Check-In and select the Arrival Appointment that works best with your plans. We will not be able to accommodate guests who show up outside their Arrival Appointment.
  4. To be fair, in unless you plan on staying in the port complex, including Taino Bay will give you a better idea how busy places will be.
  5. We've done it before and our now 14 and 11 year old specifically asked to go. They last went 3 years ago.
  6. Only benefit to FTTF for you would be the priority line at guest services.
  7. It says on the pixels page that groups are limited to under 10 people. Is this enforced? OP has 10 people. Dreams studio is an option, but that is expensive.
  8. There have been reports that in some embarkation ports, they stick to the arrival appointment time, even for those with priority (including suites, FTTF, Diamond, and platinum). The written policy on the website says that this is the case for all ports, but it seems to be, most often, not enforced for those with priority. I would get the earliest arrival time I could, just in case. Assume you can show up earlier than the appointment you are able to get and go through the priority line, but understand it is possible they could make you wait for your appointment time.
  9. Sounds like you have a busy trip! You might want to consider Dania Beach as well. Close to FLL airport and many of them have free shuttles from the airport. You can get a good night sleep, and be well rested for your cruise. I would plan on heading to the port earlier than lunchtime. Miami can have a ton of traffic.
  10. My understanding is that when the ship is in port, it often (depending on the port) connects to the local water supply. This is cheaper than using the ship's desalination system. Also, water near the port may not be suitably clean enough for this process. When the ship is using the desalination system, the result is distilled water. But, they add back in minerals and/or other electrolytes, mostly for taste. You can taste the difference between distilled water and the ship's water.
  11. Easiest and affordable: you often have to sacrifice one for the other. How they balance will depend greatly on party size and number of pieces of luggage.
  12. Online reservations for the Seuss breakfast is relatively new. I don't think anyone knows if they hold back tables for on board booking. I would ask at guest services as soon as you board. Last time, we couldn't find the sign up table, so we asked guest services where it was. They told us... but did they could just sign us up for it there on the spot. So guest services can do it.
  13. I don’t. I just stay up late. I don’t trust my alarm for something so important.
  14. Just for clarity, I'll add that 15 and under need only their sail and sign card.
  15. Most cruise lines have shuttle service from FLL to the port, but I would just book a private/shared shuttle from the hotel. Why take 2 transfers, when you can take 1 transfer? It won't save money (it would cost more, unless maybe you're a solo traveler), and you have to go on their time, not your choice of time.
  16. Many Dania Beach hotels have free shuttles from the airport. We're staying at Hyatt Place on 18th, across the street from Dania Point shopping center. To get the port in the morning, you have Uber/Lyft, shared shuttles (such as SAS), or private shuttles (tons of options, check reviews and prices). We settled on Larry's Limos.
  17. Probably easier to use the credit card. You can do it at a Kiosk whenever you happen to be passing by. This way you won't have to make a trip to the cabin to get the cash. However I wouldn't worry about it. At 6 years old, she won't be able to use her card to buy anything without you/ other parent/ etc. there anyway.
  18. There's a bug where you can't add it to your cart from the list, you have to click on "more details" and NOT "add to cart." Then it'll give you the option to click on a stateroom and then add to cart. It still sells out, so if you want it, I'd get it ASAP. For our two upcoming cruises this summer, one has it available, the other sold out.
  19. Can not be done until you check in online. But, you can change it anytime prior to sailing (or the day before, I think).
  20. After booking our flight months ago (at a great price) jet blue added a flight at 4:30ish. Changing it for 5 in advance is too much, but we may ask for a same day change once we arrive at FLL. But, we'd have to stop on the way home for a late dinner. With the 6:30 flight, we'd go straight home. Hard choice.
  21. We're in a similar boat as you. Our flight leaves 6:09 pm, so not quite as bad. We're doing the Everglades excursion (Carnival, though, but same thing I guess). We figure we'll have a leisurely (early) dinner at the airport before boarding starts, so we're looking at a 2 hour gap. Not too bad. We'll find something to do.
