  4. Yes, but also some countries (including greenland) require the 6 months. So, to make things simpler, they recommend it for all cruises.
  5. Passport application requires an original birth certificate with the seal, they will not accept a photocopy. So, it's possible that whatever was sent in with the passport application could be OK for a cruise. We don't know exactly what was sent in.
  6. Wife sunburns easily, so we've gotten the Cabana on both our HMC trips. Made the day for us. Would we get it or the villa at these prices? Honestly, it would depend on planned costs of other ports. As a family of 5, most excursions cost us upwards of $700.
  7. We're staying at the 18th Ave location. 18th Ave location has a free airport shuttle, 10th St does not. 18th Ave has queen beds or a king, 10th St has double beds or a king Both have free breakfast. Across the street from 18th Ave: Dania Pointe: A Fort Lauderdale Mall and Dining Destination and Hollywood, Florida FL - Available Retail Space & Restaurant Space for Lease Oakwood Plaza North & South | Kimco Realty
  8. Usually clicking "add" on a cart page like that results in a final check out page, where you can either confirm/purchase or delete from your cart. If just clicking "add" is a final purchase, it really should make it clear. I can easily imagine people accidently clicking the "add" link, and being really upset they can't undo it just moments later. Very poor design, IMO.
  9. Though, if she's not traveling between now and next April, might as well renew it before hand. It can take a few months to get these days, so it's better to get it earlier, when you know you have the time. Being good for 10 years, there isn't much difference getting the new one this year or next.
  10. Also cruise cash allows you to avoid having to go to guest services/kiosk to deposit money for the first few days, when the lines are longer.
  11. Add yourself to the waitlist, but also email special needs with your booking info and request. I have found them to be very helpful in the past. If you have any other dietary needs in addition to the dining time, include that as well. The MDR team will have the info when you sit at your table.
  12. The redemption rates seem to change. When I got them, the redemption rate for the gift cards was about 15% less than for the statement credit. So getting the cards directly for points was better. But, yes, if the point redemption rates are the same, allstate/aarp would be better.
  13. It's in the part of the site to redeem points. One of the options is gift cards. The carnival cards (and others) seem to come and go, though. But, there's always a list of lots of options.
  14. My credit card had a great points for Carnival gift card rate, so I got $2000 worth of gift cards for "free." Unfortunately, it was sent as twenty $100 cards. Spent quite a bit of time yesterday with the TA over the phone reading all those numbers.
  15. We had a problem getting a gift card refund on excursions when COVID cancelled our cruise. Our TA called Carnival and got it sorted out. I think the TA went right to a higher level Carnival CSR. Our gift card refund came that day. It was an ecard, though our original payment was with a physical card. The TA can call and speak to Carnival on your behalf about excursion refunds, even when you book them on your own.
  16. I thought it was the 1st sea day, but not positive. We're getting on the horizon as you are getting off! Keep her nice and clean for us!
  17. Try the Dania Beach hotels. We got a rate of $225 with tax at Hyatt Place, with breakfast and free airport shuttle. There's also a Springhill suites right near there, and a few others. For that many people, I would book a shuttle service in advance. We're using Larry's Limos for our cruise in July based on reviews here and elsewhere online.
  18. You can buy the dreams package now pre cruise. Cheapest is $300 for 5 photos. Also 10 for $500 and $750 also for 10, but with more prints and frames.
  19. Yes, and if there ever was a sale (extremely unlikely for cheers, but there are sales for excursions, spa, pixels, and wi-fi) you can cancel for a full refund and rebook at the sale price.
  20. Isn't the included Mongolian wok and Pata bar lunches inside jijis and cucina?
  21. You can also use the OBC pre cruise if you book an excursion, specialty restaurant, or anything else on the cruise manager page.
  22. I don't think this is carnival owned though. It includes a 40 min drive to Turquoise Bay Dive & Beach Resort. The Cabanas at Mahigany bay, which are carnival owned, went up a lot in the last couple months.
  23. I think the Pride is great as it is.... the less they do the better.
