  1. I don’t believe anyone answered your question. On the cruise I’m currently on here’s the deal. If you buy a Future Cruise Certificate you will get $100 OBC on your current cruise or future cruise you select. if you book a named cruise you get $250 OBC for your current or future cruise. The Onboard booking savings amount is determined by category and length of cruise. Not all offers will combine.
  2. Could you provide a little more detail to your experience?
  3. I guess I’m a bit off a Pollyanna or give people too much credit, but as we got off the tender and went through security there was fruit coming out of bags right and left. The port workers will have a smorgasbord of fruits today. This despite the multiple announcements by the Cd and notices in Currents. SMH
  4. I don’t mind at all. Feel free to keep it going. Or I won’t be offended if you start one of your own. Your call
  5. Chacabuco Chile today, tender port. Water is smooth as glass. We got here about an hour early. I’ll bet our new Captain is going to get in trouble for not going slow enough to save fuel. 🙄 Why this whole cruise we’ve been getting to ports early, going too fast and spending way too much in port fees due to extra time there. All those things the anti posters say Oceania isn’t supposed to do. Go figure.
  6. Last time we did a turn around in Barcelona we did have to get off and then back on. Odds are there won’t be a bar open. Bear in mind this was at least 5 or 6 years ago so it might be different now. In Civitivichia ( yeah I think that’s wrong) we didn’t have to get off the ship.
  7. I thought we were back out in the open sea. We’ve been rolling around for the past few hours. Nothing new to report, but I just got up.
  8. Maybe a better question is have they cruised on Oceania before? Like so many things that people worry about I have found this to be a non issue over the years. But if it’s that important just book the owners suite. You’ll have priority.
  9. Definitely sentinels by both entrances to the Terrace reminding you to use the sanitizer. Hopefully the weather will be clear enough to enjoy the fjords tomorrow. Code Mike, now what does that mean? One of my biggest fears on cruises is to be in a remote area and need immediate attention.
  10. Oddly enough they’ve removed the plastic from the buffet station but posted people outside the GDR to remind you to use the sanitizer. Ok We’ve been without internet most of the day. Don’t plan on internet working good on this itinerary.
  11. We’ll see if this will work.
  12. Depends on what room you’re in and how close to an open door you are. In Terrace this morning I was cold with jeans and a sweatshirt. Then went up to Horizons and was warm. It truly varies. I’ve seen people today in tees and shorts. Today is about the rocking and rolliest we’ve had the whole cruise. Bags out by the elevators.
  13. I think she said that the economy is included and the upgrade to business is $3349.. I think to compare apples to apples we need to know what the air credit is wit Silver Sea. So maybe not as good a deal as she thinks.
  14. No strawberries 🍓 or blackberries. There have been plenty of lounges the last few days. Can’t imagine why. I had a nice crisp cookie the other day. Most are too soft in my opinion. Haven’t noticed that tour offered again. But it was never in the Currents, only on that placard at guest service. So keep an eye out there. They really could use some marketing people on board, or maybe they can fill these without promoting them.
  15. I guess you missed the extra 18 hours in Ushuaia. Did it make up for it? Don’t know. According to the Captain we saw everything that was on the agenda for Antarctica . Was that true? Once again I don’t know. I do know that I’m not one of those people that thinks I’m smarter than the Captain. We have enough of them already. Of course we left Ushuaia the same time as we were always scheduled to, so if the conspiracy people were right then we would have slowed down to save fuel and got there the two hours later as scheduled. Go figure.
  16. I believe our tour guide mentioned this and said it’s a town and Ushuaia is a city. I’ll let them duke it out.
  17. Today is a sea day, or as our itinerary says Cruising the Chilean Fjords. So far I’m not seeing any Fjords. It is pretty foggy here at almost 8am. We are having a Brunch today between 9-1 in the GDR, so for you folks that are interested in those, yes they are still having them. I’ll try to take some pictures. Last night was dinner in the GDR and it was really good. Teresa had prime rib and I had Weiner schnitzel with German potato salad. Contrary to some other reports on the board I find for the most part the food in the GDR is good. This is after being on almost 3 weeks. I have noticed that the Terrace has been a zoo for most of this trip. I’m personally a little more disappointed in it than the GDR. But maybe I just don’t want to fight the lines. I got an Oceania Cuban in Waves yesterday. Didn’t that used to be called a Cubano? At any rate it’s still about twice as big as it needs to be, and there were no pickles. I only ate half. They have changed the meat and the bread, but it still tastes good. I don’t really think it’s that authentic. They have definitely added additional wine servers to handle the extra demand for wine. We only had a couple of times where the wine service was slow. So for those that have been worried about that, don’t be. Any one with questions feel free to ask.
  18. Pretty simple, if the majority of the people are off in port then they pretty much have the ship to themselves. In theory.
  19. Your stubborn refusal to consider what a TA could do for you money savings wise shows that no one really should take your constant advice that you repeatedly and repetitively post here. You are leaving money on the table with every booking. So if that works for you fine. Your choice, it just invalidates your input on this subject.
  20. The reason you don’t see reports of getting there early is because on social media people are much more likely to complain than praise. Just the way things work. Then people start talking about “all” the negative reviews and it just snowballs from there. The sky is not falling but things are definitely changing, and people don’t like change, especially if it’s something they don’t agree with. Not only are people more likely to report negative things, the negative reports will carry more weight than the positive ones. My current Oceania experience is that they are still a quality product, but changes have been made, with more to come. We all have to decide if it’s still for us, but I see no need for a crusade against them just because you don’t like the changes. Just move on.
  21. We are in Punta Arenas 2 hours early. Cruise here was quite uneventful. another beautiful day, should be low 60s and 🌞. I think I’ll take a walk around town. No plans today.
