  1. Been on a couple cruises where there were large groups and it was not always pleasant. I might pick another cruise.
  2. Sailed on the Beyond in October and Apex last December. Wife and I carried on 2 bottles each both sailings and had no problem.
  3. Celebrity cruise porting in September. Group of 6 interested in a wine tour without going into Florence first. Curious if anyone knows if any tour for small group would pick up at or near the cruise port. One person has somewhat limited mobility and is not interested in taking a bus into Florence first. This is new to all and don't even know how long the commute is. Thanks in advance.
  4. Never needed to write a list either. Butler always introduces himself day 1 and asks what we might need as he has his notepad out. We always request coffee at 7:30 with pastries.Cheese plate in the afternoon and that's it. Anything else ,I pick up the phone and call. Usually everything is taken care of.
  5. The Celebrity website states that each GUEST may bring two 750ml bottles on to the ship on embarkation day. This is consistent with my last 2 cruises.
  6. We brought on two bottles per person for our October cruise on the Beyond and our hoilday cruise on the Apex. 4 total for our cabin. I believe that is the policy for Celebrity unless it has changed since Jan.
  7. Booked my last 4-5 cruises through an independent casino rep who books through the BCC. They have been comping concierge class and I have paid to upgrade to the retreat. Still getting offers for concierge class comped. The net has been around half the listed price of the Retreat. That all changed recently. Tried to book a cruise in April and inquired about the price on a SS or CS. They came back with no discount and quoted the same price as the website. When I inquired ,they said BCC does not want to give any comps on suites. So they did not even offer the discount that would have been the cost of a standard cabin. Looks like I'm back to booking through a travel agent and not worrying about how many hours I spend in the casino.
  8. Thank you for the great review. Sailing on Apex 12/23 and appreciate your dining reviews . We have Eden and Fine cut booked so far.Still deciding about Rooftop.
  9. Beyond had it two times on repo cruise Oct 26. Upcoming Apex cruise I see it scheduled once.
  10. Was on the Beyond for 9 nights 10/26 - 11/4 , and never had an issue finding seating in the Retreat. The tables around the outside bar would often be full with groups having lunch . One or two couples would hog the tables reading books but lounge chairs seemed plentiful.
  11. Charge the chips or slot ticket to your room and pay it off using OBC.
  12. @morpheusofthesea , I appreciate all the info. We really enjoyed Stage Door on the Beyond. Like you ,itinerary is not that important to us. The ports on the Beyond were almost a waste. A few hours in Bermuda and a shortened stop in Aruba were more frustrating than anything. I cannot cancel 2 of my upcoming Celebrity cruises due to family and friends being along. However ,I may look at changing to MSC for my recently booked April cruise. BTW ,we also hate the tub/shower combo in the CS.
  13. Thanks for posting this. I also just got off the Beyond but was in a lowly CS. I just booked a RS on the Apex for April and it seems like Celebrity is cranking up the suite prices which is how I ended up looking here. My question is do the Yacht Club suites have butler And now that I looked around more,I see that they do.any other difference in service levels between MSC and Celebrity?
  14. It is two bottles per person. We sailed on the Beyond Oct 26. My wife and I each carried on two bottles in our carryon bags. No issues.
  15. We waited until late to disembark from the Beyond 11/4. We also ordered the Uber when we were walking off the ship. I think it was a mistake. Walking outside ,several hundred people were jammed into the small area. Ubers and cars had trouble getting through. People were arguing .It was a cluster. Order your Uber early .
  16. There are plenty of public spots inside and out for reading and relaxing. The inside area around Eden is usually quiet and perfect for reading. Lot's of seating around the expanded Sunset Bar outside. The shows are all scheduled to last around 45 min . A couple of them lasted 5-10 min over. Scheduling dinner around them was easy.
  17. We were on the same cruise and had no noise. Cabin 11105 which is way forward. I've read other reports of noise but I guess we were lucky. Just asked my wife if I returned to the cabin after too many martinis and did not notice. She confirmed no noise. We have been on other ships where it was noticeable ,especially in rough water but nothing here.
  18. Thanks for all the replies. We are sailing with my three adult children and they are all looking forward to it too..
  19. We recently had dinner at Eden on the Beyond . The entire experience was wonderful. The server told us they have changed the menu from the original concept on the Edge which did not really interest us. Does anyone know if the menu at Eden is similar to the revised menu on the Beyond?
  20. Hilario was our butler on the Beyond repo cruise out of Port Liberty. I agree that he was fantastic. Second night in the theater , I sat back too fast and caught the pocket of my dress slacks on the drink holder resulting in a six in tear on the seam. Next morning ,I asked him what the chances were to get them repaired by the end of the trip. He said he would take care of it. The pants were repaired and hanging in the suite by 2pm that afternoon. Very happy with his service. BTW we loved the way he answered the phone with his sing song "Hilario the Butler". We were in a CS 11105.
  21. Somehow I missed this review, so I just binged all 18 pages. Thanks for a wonderful review and setting up the pre sailaway get party at the Sunset" Fog " Bar All the pics are great and I cannot wait to go back on the Beyond. Enjoyed meeting you and your family on the ship. A couple thoughts on the ship. Agree with your thoughts on the outside furniture .The reclining mesh loungers on the S Class are way better than these small chairs. Our safe had to be reset also. Unfortunately ,it was a 40 min wait right before dinner. We were in Cabin 11105 and did not hear much creaking at all. There was a lot more on the Milennium las November. My biggest complaint was the short stays in the ports. Bermuda was too short to do anything. Looking forward to following along for the rest of your report.
  22. 100% agree. Just got off the Beyond 9 day repo cruise. Bid high on multiple suite levels and got no notifications . My upgrade tracker was frozen and was notified 2 days prior to sailing that my bids were unsuccessful. My CC status is elite. Seems like there should be one standard for all bidders.
  23. I love the entire Retreat concept. The Retreat Lounge but , and it's a big but , I really miss the bar setup on the S class in Michaels Club. I always enjoyed sitting at the bar for a cocktail or 3 waiting for my wife to get ready for dinner. The bartenders were always friendly and the concierge was right inside the door. The retreat lounge is not the same level of personal "bartender" service. Found myself going to the Retreat sundeck bar last time on Edge but heading there in dressy dinner clothes when it's 90 degrees is different.
  24. I fly mostly on AA. The inflight entertainment is comes through phone or tablet and wireless headphones work fine. When on a back of the seat screen, they would not work .
  25. Bose over ear . The buds did not block out enough sound for me but they are a lot more convenient.
