  1. I received an email from Princess about our upcoming cruise. In the email, it mentioned we can select a preferred arrival time under "OceanReady" but I don't see it. All I have is "travel checklist", your arrival status, my preferences, safety essentials and mediallionnet. I have drilled down to each group but I can't find it either.
  2. I assume "no show" happened when someone can't the cruise even though they have paid the cruise in full. If the cruise line keep the money, shouldn't they give little back?
  3. Shouldn't the other passenger get the points even thought they paid but didn't sail?
  4. Sent request mid-week last week but got the following response on Sun (7/3). "At this time, rooms are not available at the ValueTrips.com rate for this location on the date you requested and your reservation was not booked. Value Rates are blacked out December 9-10, 2022."
  5. Mid-week, yes. Weekend, depends where you at and where you need to go. At this moment, freeways near Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles are wide open.
  6. On the other hand, unless OP is taking a mid-weed cruise out of LA, he is not likely to run into a lot of traffic jams on Sat or Sunday morning.
  7. The ground transfer is optional and is separate from the air add-on. I believe it is $25 per person per transfer.
  8. Do you have a big group or a lot of luggage? What is the difference between a "private transfer" and Uber/Lyft?
  9. Our credit card company reimburse us for the fee we paid for either GE or TSAprecheck. We were going to get TSAprecheck anyway, since it is "free" either way it doesn't make sense not to get GE. Even if we have to pay for it, TSAprecheck is not that much cheaper than GE.
  10. I found the address of the stations nearest the hotel. The closest one is 0.4 miles from the hotel Financial District) and the other one is 05. miles. Walkable but don't know if I want to do that at night.
  11. last time we sailed out of Miami was on a Royal Caribbean ship in Dec 2019. At the end of the cruise, we stopped in front of a camera after we picked up our luggage. Took a second or two for the system to "recognize" us. Once the system found us, we were proceeded to walk out of the terminal. There is no need to take our passport or anything out. Similar system is used by Royal Caribbean on its ships when we embark/disembark the ship during all the port calls. Port Canaveral uses the same system when we cruised out of there in Dec 2021. By the way, we got out Global Entry in Oct 2019 but have yet to use it even though we have cruised out of Port Of Miami, Port of Canaveral, Port of Seattle and Port of LA. The only benefit from GE we do use is the TAS pre-check which save us a lot of time when we fly.
  12. Doesn't POE use facial recognition? GE will not save you any time.
  13. I am looking into booking a night at the Homewood Suites at 1750 SW 1st Ave, Miami and their website mentione taking the Metromover to Bayside MarketPlace. Which station is the closest to Homewood?
  14. Not if I bought at Friday's price. Even if I paid $15/share, I will "break even" with fewer than fifteen 7-nt cruises assume NCL stays in business that long. If NCL bounces back or someone buys NCL, the payback period will be shorter.
  15. Looking into buying 100 shares of NCL to get OBC. When I send in my brokerage's monthly statement, can I redact all other holdings and info except showing we have 100 shares of NCLH?
  16. Looking for an inexpensive hotel for one night between cruises and possibly do a load or 2 of laundry. Any particular one that is close to restaurant or supermarket?
  17. Somewhat related question. When can I request to fly a day early? At time of booking?
  18. When the upgrade option "disappear" on day 2, person 1 used less than 30 minutes out of the 150. Person 2 did not use any minutes till day 6 and the upgrade option (at $90) was on the app till then. Did not check exactly when the upgrade option dropped off on person 2's app.
  19. For our 3/27/2022 cruise on NCL Bliss, we had 150 "free" internet minutes each as one of the perks. For day 1 & 2, we can upgrade for $110 for one device. From day 2 onward, $90 to upgrade. If you have not used your minutes, you can upgrade from the app at any time. If you have, the upgrade option disappeared from your app starting on day 2 and you have to do the upgrade at the internet cafe.
  20. When we cruises out of Los Angeles, CA in March, we have to pay 12% tax on drinks until the ship is out of US water. They have signs at all the bars about the tax reate when they charge tax.
  21. We are in SoCal and there are more than one airport we can fly to Miami and I have couple of questions. If we go with NCL's air add-on and pick an airport closest to us, will NCL book our flights from another airport because of scheduling or cost? When we we know what flights they booked us on?
  22. I am ready to do my emed test this morning. If I use my webcam on my laptop, do I have to download/install Navica app to my phone?
  23. We are looking into doing a side by side cruise in early Dec 2022 and will have a day between cruises in Miami. We are looking for a hotel that is less expensive that the ones in the Brickell area just to relax and maybe do the laundry just to make sure we have something fresh to wear during the 2nd cruise. Also, we don't plan to rent a card. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  24. Newbie qeustion. Does Princess give us any sort of holder for the medallion? Not even a wrist band?
