  1. I thought I'd check it out. In comparison, I am on SS to Alaska in June. We are at the Captain Cook with one night included. I added a night. SS charged exactly what it would cost me to book it myself on line.
  2. I decided to take the hotel credit and use points to stay at my hotel of choice for free. i am adding an extra night and the amount they ask for an extra night pp is absurd in the extreme. 549 pp the hotel credit is 150 pp what is wrong with this picture?
  3. You are of course entitled to your view. Great minds can differ, especially when it comes to food. LOL. IMO Compass Rose is the best main dining room at sea. If I never ate in a specialty restaurant on Regent I would not care. On Oceania I only ate in the specialties, or the Terrace buffet or room service -- never in the main dining room.
  4. Trying to figure out which hotel Regent might use in Miami I did a search (not an easy thing to search) and came up with 2 possibilities: Biltmore in Coral Gables and the Intercontinental Does anyone have any recent information on which Miami hotels Regent is using?
  5. Just an FYI for anyone hoping to sail through the Red Sea Maersk -- one of the largest shipping companies in the world - stated that they do not think the situation will resolve for a very long time -- could be a year or more.
  6. My 2 cents 15 cruises on Oceania and I will never go back, Once I switched to the Old Crystal (never going back there either) I will now only sail Regent, silversea and Seabourn. I witnessed the food on O deteriorate over the years. The main dining roomon O is to be avoided at all costs. Compass Rose is better than the specialties on Regent. IMO there is no comparison at all. I just spent 30+ days on Grandeur. Divine.
  7. Sorry you are disappointed We were on Voyager from Cape Town to Buenos Aires (a very long cruise) and it was wonderful. I was a little reluctant to try one of Regent's older ships but the Regent experience for us was superb. As I always say, every cruise is different. You can have a bad cruise on a great line or a really good cruise on a mediocre line. We had one bad cruise on Silversea after many great ones. Did not deter us from booking SS again.

  9. Took way too long imo. Apparently Crystal is even worse at notifying passengers. Hope everyone gets refunds. Love the smell of that green grass 😁

  12. I agree. the cancellation of your cruise (which i predicted) is the only way they can get to drydock on time. Nothing to do with safety Once they cancelled my red sea cruise your cruise was doomed
  13. Success. My ta is great they transferred the money to my 2 future ss cruises. I am told notice of cancellation coming I love silversea but just not willing to risk death to sail.

  15. This is war -- not totally predictable. I don't mind booking early. What angers me is the lack of response when they KNOW the ship cannot sail the itinerary.
  16. Plus 1 i agree. Only way to get to drydock on time is to cancel my cruise and the one before it

  19. SS is just silent. My TA has called every high level person he knows. I called SS and emailed Barbara Muckerman. No answer From the staff at SS we get the same old "we are evaluating the situation." WHAT IS THERE TO EVALUATE? Ships are being attacked. The US is bombing targets. The Somali pirates are allegedly back in business. There is no way this cruise is a go. The delay in announcing the cancellation is incredibly selfish. Most of us have to cancel hotels, air, tours and make alternate arrangements. Every other cruise line has cancelled Red Sea cruises.

I’m still waiting to see what ss doing about Mumbai to Athens March 20 right through the red sea radio silence I’m disgusted. no way it’s a go cancel the cruise and let me deal with my flights and private tours luckily I will be in India for 10 days pre cruise. I just want to extend my land trip and change flight home. Cannot do a thing ss really is treating its loyal customers poorly
