  1. I'm not a member. On the old site (better than the new site), click on the deck you want to see then click on a camera icon to see a picture.
  2. I printed pages 1 and 9 of my brokerage statement to a PDF file. (Page 1 had my address and page 9 had the CCL share information.) I then used PDFgear (free program) to black out the account number and non-relative information. I then attached it to an email with my name, confirmation, ship, and cruise date. Total time: about 4-5 minutes.
  3. I tried to use gift cards in the Personalizer to purchase OBC but, unfortunately, they cannot be used there.
  4. Day 2 and the balance on the used $500 gift card that I used #327.78 still shows a balance of $672.22. My plan had originally been to OBC. However, that is limited to $1500. I was also going to use the cards to buy excursions. Unfortunately, the website wants to use my current OBC to purchase excursions.
  5. Well, I did get $5000 back to the original 14 gift cards. I applied some to a cruise in April 2024. After paying my fare with the cards, I checked the balances. All showed $0.00 (as expected). I used $327.78 of a $500 gift card. I checked the balance on this one - it showed $672.22! That's $500 plus the balance of $500-$327.78. I wonder if Princess actually does reward people for using only part of a gift card? (Just kidding)
  6. I had to cancel my cruise. I paid about $1300 via credit cards and the balance ($5000) in gift cards. I cancelled before final payment date. I did a Bing search regarding gift cards issued in California: "According to the California Department of Consumer Affairs, any gift certificate sold after January 1, 1997, is redeemable in cash for its cash value, or subject to replacement with a new gift certificate at no cost to the purchaser or holder. Effective January 1, 2008, any gift certificate with a cash value of less than $10 is redeemable in cash. California laws governing gift cards and gift certificates cannot be waived." The Princess passage contract says, "Any refunds will be made directly to the method of payment." Here's my questions: Will the refund be $1300 to the credit card and the balance to the gift card or is cash an option? The PVP said my refund would be to my credit card. This doesn't sound right. (It could be she didn't look at the payment type when cancelling the cruise.) If gift cards, would it be one $5000 or multiple cards or multiple cards? (I used 14 credits in amounts of $100 and $500) The gift cards were purchased on the AARP site with discounts of 8% and 10%. The total for the $5000 cards was $4600. I only expect to get back what I paid. Would Princess give back just the purchase amount, even though the received the full amount of each card? Thanks in advance for all comments.
  7. I wish I had known about the gift cards earlier. I booked my cruise in June. Once I found out about the gift cards, I bought $5,000 worth in July, August, and September (5 each month). I was able to save $400 (6.3% of my fare). I don't think I waited more than 3 or 4 minutes before they arrived in my inbox. I won't buy insurance through AARP but things like the gift cards are a good deal.
  8. The steward could always ask a solo traveler if she would be willing to give up a balcony chair. I know I would because it would give me more room on the balcony.
  9. How bright are these lights? The ones we had on the Royal were not bright enough to wake us up.
  10. You're right about the real tour. But, in my world, the "ultimate" ship tour would include the bridge, the engine room, the engine control room, and the I5 (or whatever a particular ship is calling the main corridor on deck 4) to show all of thje storage areas..
  11. I don't need a chef's jacket, personalized notepad, or any of (to me) useless swag. I just want to see the bridge and engine room..
  12. Your Wi-fi calling enabled phone may not allow you to use Wi-Fi calling if the phone is unlocked for all carriers. I have AT&T. My phone was listed on their page as Wi-Fi calling enabled but it wasn't enabled on AT&T. A good work-around is to get Google Voice. It's free for personal use. Though I live in California, I picked a number in Idaho. (You can also use Google Voicer for those times you need to register on a site with your phone number but don't want to use your main phone number.) Information on Google Voice
  13. You can put the phone in airplane mode then turn Wi-Fi back on.
  14. Additional time in Hilo or another sea day would be great for me. I don't like overnight stays.
  15. They need to review it? Gimmie a break! Roig must be a complete idiot if she thought people wouldn't complain about this. Does she really think people are so stupid that they wouldn't notice a person on a 28-day cruise gets the same number of credits as a person on a cruise 1/4 that long? Corporate America is getting greedier with each passing day. Consumers aren't blameless, either. They have the ability to vote with their wallets but they don't. In my case, I got a good deal on the premier package and have lots of OBC. Otherwise, I would have cancelled my cruise in January. It's about time Princess changed its name to "We Ain't the Love Boat Anymore Because We Don't Give a Damn About Our Passengers Cruise Line."
  16. While it's a good pizza, I don't think it is $8.50 good.
  17. Check https://www.cruisetimetables.com/ No need to reinvent the wheel. Transfer the data from the above site to your spreadsheet.
  18. Check https://www.cruisetimetables.com/ No need to reinvent the wheel. I have, though, transferred data from cruise timetables to a spreadsheet. I made a columnar timetable by having the ports listed on the left and each ship's itinerary down adjacent to columns. (I also placed the times next to the date) ship ship ship Port A 1/1 1/5 1/14 Port B 1/6 Port B 1/6 Port C 1/3 1/10 1/14 Port C 1/3 1/10 1/14 Port D 1/15 Port D 1/15 Port E 1/5 1/14 1/20
  19. "Significant" to corporations is a term that can be whatever they want it to mean, down to and including 1 (ONE) person. Corporations also rarely show their data so there's no way customers can see how much lying the corporations are doing.
  20. While with the other B2Bers, discuss the stupidity of having to go through customs if you had no plans whatsoever to leave the ship between cruises.
  21. I should have said I use my debit card to get cash back when making a purchase.
  22. I do have one check I need to write monthly because the government charges a "convenience" for credit cards. I rarely use ATMs; instead, I get cash back. Due to me being bored, I guess I should go into Grammar *** Mode: ATM Machine is redundant (ATM means Automatic Teller Machine PIN number is also redundant (PIN means Personal Identification Number)
  23. Both credit cards are set up to pay off the balance each month (no need to adjust the payment amount). Other bills are automatically paid checking account. Of course, my Social Security and retirement income are both directly deposited into my credit union. I'm trying to remember the last time I saw they inside of a financial institution.😃
