  1. It truly sucks that you had to go through this and all the hoop-jumping to get it resolved. I know it's too late now, but having a good PCC, or a travel agent who has clout with NCL (we have both), goes a long way to help fight the battle for you. Now that you have the drink package restored, have one on me. 😜
  2. In addition to the crapola you've had to put up with on this portion of the cruise, your thread has slipped off page one and onto page 2. There...fixed it. When you embarked on the Regal, I told you I once owned a Buick Regal and it was a lemon. Sounds like the Princess version is just as much of a lemon. But knowing you, I know you'll turn that lemon into lemonade. After all, Princess should realize they have their namesake on board.
  3. Facetious? Me?? Never... Oops, there I go being facetious. 😁 I get your point about the vast difference in the cost of a cruise and a Big Mac. (Hey, the way things are going, a Big Mac may end up costing more than a cruise.) But the gist of my facetiousness was to say if you're so dissatisfied with a company, be it McDonald's or NCL, you don't need to ask others if you should switch. Your dissatisfaction (whatever the price) should be enough for you to make up your own mind. Now back to discussing port cancellations...
  4. In reviewing the title to this thread, it got me thinking (dangerous, I know). If I order a Big Mac at McDonald's (which I don't...haven't been to McDonald's in years) and it ends up being a Small Mac (which they have apparently become in the recent past), I would consider that an ethical issue. False advertising, at the very least. However, I wouldn't wrestle with whether or not to go back to McDonald's...I'd just go to Culver's (which I do). I also wouldn't question if I should drop McDonald's on the internet...I'd just do it and be done with it. But I guess that's just me.
  5. I also will not be doing a LIVE for our cruise next month. We have zero sea days, plus we're being accompanied by some cruise newbies who have never been to Europe...and they're expecting us to act as quasi-tour guides. So no time available to do a LIVE...plus the fact that I'm old. lazy and technologically challenged. I'll probably do a summary of some sort after the fact...unless I forget my CC password after being away for a couple of weeks.
  6. We'll also be on our first Platinum cruise next month. But because it's a loop cruise having a couple of rotating embarkments in Barcelona and Rome (Civitawhatever), we will miss out on the Behind the Scenes tour and the Wines Around the World, as those slots will be filled before we board. We'll still get two extra dinners and laundry...(and strawberries...even though they're now reportedly strawberry halves). But I guess it's something...
  7. Crabapples to watermelons. Fixed it. (Especially when comparing prices). Never mind me. I'm feeling crabby (again).
  8. I went with one of our cruising companions, also a Veteran, who had never been on NCL before. I played up the Veterans event and he was excited. Suffice to say, he wasn't very excited afterward. When people say, "Thank you for your service", I always say to myself, "Where were you in 1972 when I was walking around DC in my military haircut and being sworn at and called a baby killer?"...among other things.
  9. @Sugar Magnolia https://duckduckgo.com/?q=so+you're+telling+me+there's+a+chance&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DoxSJFkS9iVM
  10. That's awesome. We're using RIL for transports and tours in September. Their willingness to go above and beyond is great to hear and much appreciated.
  11. I guess it's my turn to move this back to page one. Looks like we may be the only ones on the PC cruise. (Which is okay...)
  12. Which is almost as good as cash back if you're planning another cruise. Our cruise dropped $1200 after final payment and that $1200 FCC came in mighty handy on our next cruise.
  13. After our last Military gathering on the Jade a couple months ago, I doubt I'll bother attending another one. It took all of ten minutes (if that). The Cruise Director introduced a couple of lower ship officers, there was no food/drinks, no social time afterward. All they asked was, "Who was Army?", etc,, and then adjourned. Should have gone to the pool, with Mrs. Schmoopie.
  14. I only had the tapioca dessert in Jasmine. But it was excellent. In fact, we ate there four times in 14 days and I got two of those desserts each time. We even asked for the recipe and it showed up in our cabin the next day. Just waiting for Mrs. Schmoopie to make it. I never liked tapioca when I was younger, so I guess it's an acquired taste.
  15. Yep. I believe the charge varies. We just added transfers to the port from LAX for $25 per person. The amount might depend on the airport. MIA might be different...but we will soon be adding transfers from the Miami port to the airport, as well when we return from our PC cruise from LA to Miami.
  16. You don't like apple pie? That's un-American. Oh wait...never mind. 😜 In that case you must hate March 14th...
  17. Did that "burger" in the American Diner taste as bad as it looked? YIKES!!
  18. I find it ironic that you Docked at Ward Cove and you flew on a Beaver plane. I guess there wasn't any way to work in June and Wally, or you'd have the whole Cleaver family.
  19. Two recommendations: Shane, bartender in the Martini bar. Best bartender we've ever had (and yes, that includes Chocolate Cowboy). Daniel, piano player. He's actually part of the Duo that performs in the lounges. But if you can catch him playing solo in the Atrium, don't miss it. I'll throw in a third recommendation. Stay out of the smoky casino.
  20. Not sure how asking a Carnival question on the NCL board will get you as many satisfactory answers as asking the question about Carnival on the Carnival board. Here's a link (for your convenience...) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/133-carnival-cruise-lines/
  21. We've never done it, but if you search the board, you'll find a consensus that kind of resembles Nike's slogan. Although in this case, the revised slogan is, "Just (Don't) Do It".
  22. Not to mention the Veteran's discount (which is one key reason we stay with NCL). Also excursion discounts, etc. We have looked into MSC because they supposedly offer status matching. However, their "match" doesn't really seem to be a true match. Seems like more of a gimmick than anything. But what do I know? Plus, their pricing system is confusing (at least to an old codger like me) with all the levels.
  23. Good for you. Not so good for your loyal followers in steerage (the NCL board). We'll have to keep making the long, laborious (or is it labourious?) trek to the glamorous (or is it glamourous?) Princess board to keep up with your jaunts.
  24. Everyone knows the moon is made of green cheese. Looks like Princess spares no expense in importing cheese from outer space to keep its customers happy.
  25. I was thinking, "That's a really strange-looking cheese plate." Then I scrolled further down...
