@YVRteacher Haven't seen too much grumpiness in the past couple of days. Things must be going well with Dad. (Good beer, good food, and not getting his hair messed up?) Having said that, I need my fix of Dad grumpiness. I can't be the only grumpy one around here...I need company. And having said all of that...Happy B-Day to Dad. Cool having both of you celebrating birthdays together on the same cruise.

On our upcoming September 10 day cruise we have ZERO sea days. Bummer. A sea day every now and then breaks up the hectic schedule of getting off the ship, doing excursions, etc. Nice to have a relaxing day where you have no deadlines and no place to be.

We have a local brewery that gives you a stroopwafel if you order the Maple Porter.

Here's an odd one. We have an excursion booked and when I go into the Excursion list, that same excursion pops up as an option. When I click on it, it says we already booked it. Why have it show up as an option to book it when we already booked it?

NCL is just being proactive to avoid being blamed by certain people who will get bitten and then complain about it on CC. Usually with the heading... "I'll never cruise with NCL again"..."they didn't protect me from mosquitoes...damn NCL. Not only is that company a bunch of bloodsuckers, they have mosquitoes doing their bidding."

I suppose that it would be a logical assumption that it's sold out. Although, I tried booking one for our upcoming cruise and it didn't tell me it was sold out until I put it in the cart, People also say that if you already booked an excursion for a particular day that you won't see anything offered to you on that day. But that's not necessarily so, as we have an excursion booked and I still see other things coming up for that day.

Wow...that cake in Le Bistro looks awesome. Probably tastes much better (and easier to swallow) than the towel cake.

I think the Jade is allergic to Key West. It got booted from the itinerary on our cruise in February.

We did this exact tour with them 18 months ago. The tour was great, but our driver was pretty grumpy. You would have loved him 😁.

We were on the Escape for a TA and there were extended periods of rocking and rolling...even when the waves and weather weren't bad. With the Pearl being a smaller ship than the Escape, it may be more vulnerable to being tossed about like a cork in the Atlantic. Any issues? (I know weather can impact these things and YMMV, but just curious, since we booked the Pearl for a TA next April.)

Just off the Jade March 13. No reservations for shows. Getting there 15 minutes ahead of time will see more than half the seats open for most theater shows.

We were on the Escape for a TA in November, 2022. We will be back on her this September, for an itinerary very similar to yours. Will be following along with your trip report. O'Sheahan's for breakfast is pretty much our go-to. Never a line, service is quick. I usually get the French Toast (which is strange because it always has like just one or two raisins in it...and being a raisin hater, that's fine with me. Don't end up with a pile of nasty raisins on my plate.) Mrs.Schmoopie always gets some egg dish (I also hate eggs, so I can't tell you exactly what she gets). Give O'Sheahan's a try...you'll probably like it. If not, you didn't hear it from me.

How was your experience at the airport in Rome? We have a tight turnaround time from ship disembark to flight and hoping it won't be a fiasco.

Wait a minute... Was this because you're the only one in your stateroom...or is this some new NCL way to piss all of their upper tier people off and to save on Tide? Everything I have read up until now said that if both guests in a stateroom were Platinum or above, each person gets one bag. Our next cruise will be our first as Platinum and are taking carry-ons, which means less clothes and more laundry bags to be filled.

Submarines are reportedly headed to Iceland to peruse the specimens in the phallic museum. Gives new meaning to the term up periscope.

Wait...this is actually a thing? (Pun slightly intended). I would think having this museum in Iceland would result in a significant amount of shrinkage.

We were on the Jade (Pearl's sister ship) for 14 days two months ago. Pretty much everything was great to outstanding. We liked it so much, we booked the Pearl for a 14 day TA next September. If the Pearl is anything like the Jade (and it should be), it should be a great trip.
