What's this Dress up night of which you speak? I don't recall ever seeing a Dress up night on any of our previous NCL cruises...which is one of the reasons we cruise on NCL.

How hard is it to get a taxi from the airport? Picturing long lines... We've got private transport from the hotel to the port and the port to the airport, but may need to book them from the airport.

I was speaking with a neighbor yesterday who happens to be from Croatia and still has a home there. I told him our biggest desire is to do a cruise to Croatia in summer, 2026. He told me, "You don't want to go to Croatia in summer. First, the heat is really bad, Second, every European and their brother wants to vacation in Croatia in the summer. The place gets packed. Go in fall or spring." Good to know. Now if only NCL would release their 2026 schedules...

I hope this is true. We had the beverage package (wouldn't cruise without it) and we paid taxes on all drinks in all four of our Spain ports in November, 2022. Having said that, on our upcoming Med cruise we plan to stay on the ship in a couple of ports we have already been to, since this cruise has zero sea days. Hoping to have much of the ship to ourselves (to the extent that such a thing is possible) and that more than one bar is open, as well.

I actually approached Mrs. Schmoopie about this cruise a couple months ago, due to the awesome itinerary. However, when I told her it was 54 days and would be at least $30,000 (not including several thousands more in spending money, excursions, etc.)...well, you can guess the rest.

We're already booked on the Feb, 2025 #Schmoopiefest cruise through the Panama Canal. Still waiting to see how many others join. Sounds as though @debenson0723may have an alternate plan. As for the 2026 Fest, when the consensus settles on a cruise...wherever it is...I'm sure we'll be joining (even if there are flights involved). Still holding out hope for Croatia, etc...(realizing that you can't drive to Croatia).

That dumbazz in the buffet was such a dumbazz. His wife is probably used to him acting like a dumbazz. (I just fulfilled my quota of dumbazz for the day...OOPS, just did an extra one). Next time it happens (hopefully there won't be a next time), you could threaten to call Gopher...or Captain Steubing.

I can honestly say that I have not slept even one minute on any of the more than 100 flights I have taken in my life. I envy you...

So much news to catch up on. Congrats to @cruiseny4lifeand @Sugar Magnolia. Prayers to @graphicguyfor a successful surgery and speedy recovery. As for @debenson0723, don't feel guilty about considering the Spirit to Japan. We had been considering an Asia cruise...or a South Pacific cruise. But I hate flying, so making that long trek back and forth is out of the question. In my Army days I flew back and forth from Thailand (twice) and that was enough for my lifetime. Just flying to LA and then back from Miami for our Panama Canal cruise will be bad enough. Not to mention our upcoming round trip flights from Chicago to Rome and back. But the FAS package...I mean the free drinks on the Rome flights...will allow me to power through.
