  1. The title of this post addresses Captain Drinkers. I'm a major drinker...I outrank the Captain drinkers.
  2. Kudos for spelling Prima...I mean Pr1ma...correctly. I usually just spell it Prima because I'm too lazy to go out of the letters section to the numbers. Yes, I'm that lazy...
  3. In honor of CC comments, NCL may christen the ship: Norwegian Chairhog Norwegian Ziploc Norwegian NickelNDime Norwegian OnceDaily Norwegian Cutback The possibilities are endless...
  4. One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite comedians...Ron White.
  5. The sea was angry that day, my friends, Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.
  6. Been on the Prima. Didn't like it too much. Never been on the Breakaway. That would be our choice. YMMV.
  7. We had those pizzas on the Prima. Didn't come close to mind-blowing...unless we caught them on a bad day. Like they say on CC...YMMV.
  8. I interrupt the line-jumping discussion for the following: I may be in the minority, but in my humble opinion, NCL pizza is hardly worth ordering ahead...or waiting in line for. Now back to the line-jumping argument...
  9. Is one of them named Carlo? He was a waiter/bartender in the District and at the pool for our Panama Canal trip on the Bliss a couple years ago. A total character who almost single-handedly made our trip.
  10. Sorry...don't know...but the title of your post made me wonder if people were going around doing to wheelchairs what they used to do to cows.
  11. Are you one of those people who claims to love sea days? Maybe NCL heard you and customized this itinerary for you. 😁
  12. If this is your first time, how did the service decrease from your previous non-cruises??
  13. There is no down side to NCL to offer a FCC after final payment. It's a win-win for them. They get to keep the money you paid and by issuing a future cruise credit, that pretty much assures more money in their pocket when you book another cruise in the future. This happened to us last November when the price dropped a total of $1,200 after final payment. We probably wouldn't have booked another cruise so soon, but the $1,200 credit sucked us in.
  14. I hear you. I've yet to be able to access the "free" CC on a ship...even after trips to the Internet "help" desk. I've always wondered how others are able to post live trip reports, pictures, etc.
  15. I don't like their policy and that's why I'll never use it.
  16. Not allowing changes after day 75 when they send them to you on day 70 is total bullpuckey. What are they going to say, "You should have complained five days ago"?? How were you to know there was a problem on day 75, or before? I know what the fine print says, but to not budge on it in this instance is horrible customer service. Like you said, they have your money and you're left holding the bag.
  17. Good thing this cruise goes to Alaska and not Spain. We had four Spain stops on our TA and they all charged the tax.
  18. Yep, booking the air with NCL is a double-edged sword. What you gain in money saved you potentially lose in time wasted. Like the old saying goes, "Time is Money"...in this case saved money adds up to a lot of wasted time.
  19. How much are the gratuities for that? Or are they included in the...ahem...package?
  20. The Local on the Prima is an enigma. We were wary of the wings since we have had horrible wings at the Local (and O'Sheahan's) previously. But the wings on our January Prima cruise were fantastic...crispy, and not the least bit mushy (as was always the case previously). On the flip side, the Fish that came with the Fish and Chips was completely inedible. Cutting into the fish revealed a black-ish interior that was disgusting. Maybe a bad batch, but I would be reluctant to order that again at the Local. The bar set-up at the Local is also strange, since it's on a main walkway and people walking by crowd up to the bar (where there is already a crowd waiting to be served by two bartenders). Much prefer the bar set-up on the Escape or the Bliss (with the added benefit of having seats overlooking the Atrium).
  21. Make sure to have them arrive a day or two before the cruise departs...for two reasons: 1). Missed connections and flight cancelations are possible...even likely in today's world. You need at least a day buffer to ensure they don't miss the ship, because it won't wait for them. 2). They will need at least a day to adjust their body clocks due to jet lag. Better to do that walking in the sunshine of Rome (or wherever the RC ship leaves from) than to have to waste the first day of the cruise trying to recover.
  22. Not sure who told you that because we had a couple of price reductions before final payment on our November TA and got the new price both times. Then, after it dropped again following final payment (by $1,200) we called our PCC and he was able to get us the reduction as a FCC...which we used on the Prima in January. However, THAT was a one-time only transaction and had to be approved by the muckity-mucks at NCL. Our PCC told us we should get an answer within a week of the request and we actually got approved two days after our request.
  23. We were on the Prima in January. In times of bad weather (especially on sea days), be prepared to feel cramped with most people inside. If you're a buffet person, good luck finding a seat at those times (or any other time, to be honest). The buffet is about one-third the size of other ships with food selections/stations also drastically cut back.
