  1. Yes, when it comes time to pay, you should be offered the option to use any OBC you have on the booking.
  2. The grat is based on the pre boarding purchase price- It really doesn't matter. Price on board is $X Price before boarding is $Y Y is less than X. Pay Y. Thankfully, they now have it set up that you can use the OBC that you have for most if not all pre- boarding spend.
  3. No issues at all, just bought a bunch (Firefox)
  4. yep. but if you see the $500 OBC offer, you can take them up on it-I was pleasantly surprised. I believe $500 OBC would not be given on a 5 day cruise (mine is 7 days) ; and it is "up to". Cabin category (I booked Ocean Suite due to the low price) would also make a difference.
  5. The offer would be similar to this one that is on the website today: Plan Now, Sail Later Offer Book by August 30, 2023 Up to $1,090 off with FUNtastic Rates Up to $200 to spend onboard Available on a variety of sailings Rate Code OV8 will automatically be applied at checkout
  6. Every once in a while there will be $500 OBC given when you book, the ones I've seen are when you book very early. I have a Celebration cruise for this Nov, when I booked it last June they gave us $500 OBC
  7. Thanks for posting about the issue. They always seem to have web issues just as my final payment date gets close (8/7)-and of course so is my credit card's statement closing date that I'm waiting for before buying (8/3). Not worth a chance of missing the discount just to get this on next month's statement, time to start trying to buy
  8. Yes, you only put in $500 of your cash. The 1500 points you earned means $7,500 was played. Every spin that "won" you anything back, even just $1 is your money that you are putting back in.
  9. Your loss figures are out of pocket $, I presume. You are cycling much more through the machines-all your wins along the way that you are not cashing out are being put back in. To get a better idea of what these cruises are actually costing you, look at your point totals. As long as you are enjoying this as entertainment, and love cruising, more power to you!
  10. Good to know, I've never booked after final payment date but I'll be retired soon, so that will probably start happening
  11. Hmm, I have an idea...does somebody else need a vacation in August? (paid for by her ex)
  12. Is that still true if booking is made after final payment date?
  13. Will NCL return it on their dime? Not on a cruise ship, but I left a Nook on a plane once-it was found and turned in. Problem was that the only way to get it back was to pay shipping, which was not worth it. I
  14. Did they skip a port-that could be a port fee refund? Was there a severe issue on the ship that would warrant a refund going to everyone? Maybe they double charged you for something..I am just surprised it would be sent months after the cruise, and without an e-mail explaining why.
  15. You've already done it, and the difference is small. The point is that you did not have to take the $200 bonus as OBC. $2,000 fare and $200 spend on board (that you would no longer be obligated to spend) added to the $200 is $266 in cash. If you chose/did not need to spend anything on board, you woud lhave $260 in cash
  16. We say don't get the OBC because it is better to use your points for a statement credit/cash deposit//get a check. ( I believe you can request a check, I always just have my points deposited to my account) $100 worth of points converted to $100 OBC, must spend $100 on board OR spend $100 (or whatever you want) on board, pay with NCL card get 3% back as more points
  17. I also did my first Alaska cruise a few years ago RT out of Seattle- for the 2nd next year I am doing the Southbound 7 day cruise, ending in Vancouver. Figured it would be better to make the long day of travel (and 4 hour time change) to Anchorage before the cruise than flying home from Anchorage
  18. I've also done both and also from the Island (Huntington Station)-yes, parking is a bit more $, but the convenience of pull up-porter takes bags, park and just take elevator down was worth it. Last time with the car service, dropping us off was not as close, and on pickup he had us meet him across 12th ave. With an elderly parent, go for the parking. They are not needed, but for peace of mind you can also make parking reservations on their website and be pre-paid. there is a little extra fee, but I just paid it.
  19. IMO, these 2 items are the most critical starting point, which would then lead you towards line and ship July-more hours of daylight, in general a little warmer, Seattle v Vancouver-beside flight considerations, Vancouver is smoother sailing in and out. One way vs round trip-on a one way (North) you will go further North and hit different ports, and then you have the flight issues with flying back from, probably Anchorage. Also, do you plan to just do a cruise, or do some land tours as well? We are doing a land tour for 3 days (Anchorage/Denali Park), cruise leaving from Seward, then sailing 7 days from Seward to Vancouver Most Alaska cruises are more about the ports and scenic viewing than ship activities such as shows.., so that is probably the last decision to make, just go by what ship is going to ports that interest you
  20. Yes, but he'll have to sign the receipt. 😀
  21. I just booked Embassy Suites direct (Hilton brand), at least breakfast is included. Close enough to walk to a brew pub that we want to go to for dinner the first night.
  22. Sadi, I called today re: adding a room before the tour-first time rep went to get me a quote, after being on hold for 20 minutes I got disconnected. Called a little later, that rep said he had to transfer me to their hotel department, got disconnected as well. He did give me their phone number, which is just Royal/Priceline. When I called couldn't get past the main prompt without a reservation # for a room. I have already tried to look at room rates for next June using the link on RCL's site-the Marriott calendar was only up to May. As much as I don't want to have to move, I'm probably going to book elsewhere for now-I'm seeing rates under $300, not going to pay almost $700 for the Marriott. (the difference is going to be much better spent on King Crab legs)*** ***edited to add and Duck Fart shots
  23. Yes, since I've been a member for years, I loose track of which ones are which.
  24. You do need to be an AARP member to buy the premium ones
