  1. Morning everyone, hope you are all well. Windy but dry here at present. Need to take a trip over to Asda, but other than that I'm not venturing out. Plan on having a baking and jam making day, as have lots of apples and raspberries to use. Stay safe.
  2. Don't normally get trick or treaters here, although since last year we have had a family with children move in next door but one. I have got some sweets in, just in case, but the lights are turned off so it looks as though nobody's home!
  3. I feel your pain. In May I went into Penzance ticket office to buy tickets to Southampton for the 13th May just after the dates for the strikes had been announced (for the 12th and 13th) and asked if GWR would be affected by the strikes and was told "No you will be fine to travel." I ended up paying my daughter for petrol and a hotel as she drove us up, as we couldn't get up any other way.
  4. Hope the seas calm down for you and your wife feels better too.
  5. On the panna cotta debate, I hate the texture of them. On Britannia last month there was chocolate cheesecake on the menu, which I asked for until the waiter told me it wasn't like a proper cheesecake? A little later he showed us what it was - the only way to describe it was as a chocolate panna cotta😕
  6. It's not the oven clock that I find difficult to change it's the clock in the car!
  7. Happy Birthday to @Presto2 and @brian1 Hope you both have a great day.
  8. Morning all, Did everyone remember to alter their clocks? How do you alter your body clock, though? I've been awake since 5 am this morning. It's still fairly mild, weather wise at 12c, but rain is forecast again. I know we need it as our reserviors are still low, but enough is enough! Enjoy your Sunday.
  9. We fly out to join Azura in January, from Bristol with Jet2, but glad to read that security wasn't a hassle. It is surprising how different airports have different rules!
  10. Thank you for your review. It was interesting to read and have a safe journey home.
  11. Hope you both have a great cruises and look forward to reading all about them. Happy Sailing.
  12. A nice bright sunny day here at present, but rain is forecast again for later. We were eating our meal the night before last and was suddenly plunged into darkness as we had a power cut. Went to put on the dishwasher last night and it was displaying a foreign language, Russian I think 🤷‍♀️ After paying a visit to Mr Google it is now back to English!😊 Happy Birthday to both Graham and Splice the Mainbrace. Hope you both have a great day. bday-416 (1).mp4
  13. When I booked in online and registered my credit card, a debit of £1 was actioned to check the validity of the card.
  14. A bright sunny day down here too, but chilly. I'm sure things will improve. Don't give up keep positive
  15. Just a word of warning regarding train tickets. You may want to get tickets that can be used on a different train to the one you may have booked on. We didn't arrive into Southampton until 10 am when on Britannia in September due to bad weather, therefore disembarkation didn't start until about 11 am. Luckily we weren't affected as we had travelled up by road.
  16. Morning everyone. Cold, wet, windy but mild (14c) here. Although it's not actually raining at present. Shoe shopping is on the agenda for today, but other than nothing planned except the usual chores. Hope you all have a good day. Pam
  17. She's lovely. I'm sure you'll have some great times with her.
  18. Sorry no experience of Uber. We stayed at the West Quay Premier Inn in September and pre-booked two taxis from the foyer. They arrived at the time we booked and I received text notifications with the registration numbers and the type of cars just before they arrived.
  19. So sorry, Sue, to read the sad news about your Dad, but glad you and your family were able to be there with him at the end. Sending best wishes to you and your family at this sad time. Take care Pam
  20. That's good news and hopefully she doesn't have to long to wait for her meds to arrive.
  21. Afternoon everyone, Sorry to hear about the effects that the storm has caused a lot of you. It's very calm and mild here, 17c we even have some sun😲 Hope you all stay safe and dry. Pam
