  1. It should be more than 14 pax difference. For every suite they added, they removed 2 verandas. (suites are about the same size as 2 verandas.) They definitely added more than 7 suites.
  2. As long as i can string together triple 5 day cruises (b2b2b) with all different ports, i'm fine with it. ie: coco cay, key west, bahamas, cozumel, etc
  3. Interesting... a LNG alternative. So celebrity is shying away from LNG conversion now? And i'm assuming the other 2 fuels that same flex engine can take is diesel and marine oil? Wonder why flex fuel engine? Would be a pain to empty and clean it before switching to another fuel type
  4. wow, thx! Is Xcel the same size as Beyond/Ascent? Or did they add yet another floor/lengthen it?
  5. Xcel as in Xcelerate internet? The marketing genius behind this naming should be fired! It will be nicknamed the internet ship
  6. They're also not going to go under for the debt load for building the 6 Prima class ships. Interest rates were near 0% when they announced the new ship class so the interest payments on near 0% banks loans for these 6 ships should be negligible. I watch Jim Kramer so I am a financial expert. 😛
  7. Saw this on a social media website. Claims to be the breakdown of NCL cabin tips precovid. (Current cabin tips is $20/day. The pic is $14.50/day) For all the years i've been sailing NCL, i've never seen a precise breakdown of the tips. If this was accurate, anyone have the current breakdown amounts? And yes, more $ goes to restaurant staff than room attendants because there's ALOT more people working in restaurants than cleaning cabins.
  8. geez.. it's been 5yrs already? i was on her the 1st year she sailed. I'm getting old...
  9. I'm Sapphire casino tier level. They revoked my tier privilege of the Retreat Lounge access in 2022 because Covid but they gave me $100 freeplay instead. I was disappointed because i'd rather have Lounge access than $100 freeplay but i understood because of social distancing rules. but Then they took away the $100 freeplay starting summer 2023! 🙁😡 Also, you now need $500 adt or avg $500/day loses to qualify for end of cruise additional OBC. 😮 It used to be much less in early 2022 when these Awards were evaluated. (Plus now they're experimenting with reducing the unlimited photos package to just 10 free photos but that was after the 2023 Award's list was published.) But even with those 2 downgrades, i'm surprised they went from #1 to #3. I can't believe Carnival has upped their game that much?
  10. a capt as the 1st officer? Was an admiral in charge of the ship?
  11. it was calm sunny weather today. Read that a mooring snapped on my s-class ship causing problems with the gangway. Took over an hr to fix the gangway and a huge line of pax in returning to the ship. I've sailed on dozens of cruises and this is the 1st time i've heard of a mooring line snap. How often does that happen? How often does it happen on a calm sunny day? 😮
  12. Now realize that the 15675 signs said no commission. (But the rate given is basically 2% commission) The above sign doesn't say that. So I'm assuming the 15895 place charged commission?
  13. Ahh.. small koalas on mom's back is what I meant by babies. I guess the worker thought like you. Still had a great time there!
  14. 60aud, not usd. No problems on coming back but the 1st time I tried, it was surge pricing at 120aud. :o Saw an area I missed and visited that. 20 min later, it was 60aud again. it's much better to just get with someone on your roll call to share an Uber to go there. then when you leave, look at the people standing around the parking lot and ask if they want to share their Uber back to the ship. save 50%
  15. Benoa cruise terminal. I'm fine with the buffet food. I don't eat mdr except lobster night. Heard complaints about mdr variety. I was told by another pax that it's almost the same options every night with a minor change on what's on the plate. Ship is creaky. Lots of metal flexing in my balcony cabin. I'm not the only one from people I've talked to. If I didn't have a white noise maker, I wouldn't be able to sleep. I'm elite plus with dozens of cruises and never had this problem on other ships. This is my 1st Solstice.
  16. Official is $1usd for 15950 rupee. All others were 15675. What's the catch?
  17. no. just had no clue what the % was. And surprised by the figure
  18. When I ate there, there was hard plastic all around the seating area to keep the wind out. Oh basically hamburgers? No ribeyes or seafood shish kabobs? Hamburgers are free at buffet. Meh.. take dinner for $22.50!
  19. we're docked! We made it past the shallow waters without a problem
  20. What does the dinner have that lunch does not? Protip to the Op: When I did LCG dinner (precovid), I snagged 1/2 price ($22.50, I think) because the person manning the speciality restaurant booth at that particular moment worked at LCG. People that work at that restaurant can offer deeper discounts to their restaurant. I did the exact same thing for Le petite chef on another cruise. He worked there and said yes to my price of 50% off ($22.50). Both are worth it for $22.50. LCG is still worth it for 40% off ($27). I wouldn't do Le petite chef version 2 for 40% off. (I thought Version 1 was better than v2 but then again, the novelty could have worn off). And now that le petite chef is $60 normally, I wouldn't do it for even 50% off. (You can go on YouTube to view all the animations)
  21. The Broadway Cabernet is in the theater and consists of the 4 production singers plus the 2 singer/dancers. I did a behind the scenes tour of the Solstice theater. Taped to the wall was this list (we're allowed to take pics): Do all ships have the same songs?
  22. I'm currently on the ship. the Capt just said over the loud speaker that the Solstice will be the largest ship to dock there. The cruise docs said we're docking but not the 1st time Celebrity docs were wrong. (Ie: Iceland dock but announced tender 2days before which made people scramble because 3rd party excursions) We are doing an overnight at Bali. I assumed we were tendering because no ship this big has ever docked there so I planned accordingly. Oh well. Planning for a tender but actually docking is a much better situation than the reverse. :o
