  1. When I was in aft balcony on m-class and e-class, the balcony were deep! I was surprised it was in s-Class it's as shallow as a regular balcony :o :( Solstice
  2. Take the free shuttle to town from tender pier. (Note: I think Kayaking vendors are near the tender pier. Walk past the shuttle busses.) It drops you off a block from the Visitor's Center. They are a consolidator for all the excursion companies. It seems to be the same price. My Glow Worm/Waterfall tour was $125nz, same as the company advertising in front of the shuttle bus stop. Glow Worm tour was eh. Guide was great and told about the interesting history of the cave. but it was basically Firefly's without wings on the cave ceiling that didn't move. And you can't take pics because the camera flashes disturb the worms, which made the tour eh. (This wasn't told to me at the Visitor's center. 😞 ) If you go there yourself, admission is $40nz. The 10min waterfall stop was a nice picture location. There's a 3hr boat tour of the island for $150nz at 12:30pm. There might be one at 9am. (My cruise ship tenders started at 7am but i didn't leave my cabin till 930am) There's also a 4.5hr island boat tour AND snorkel for also $150nz. I can't swim so didn't inquire why they are both the same price. There's also many other tours. Visitor's center: Glow Worm pricing if going there yourself: Vendor in front of shuttle stop:
  3. what do you think of Holiday Inn Express Novena for $1400? And it comes with Breakfast.. lol if i'm going to get holiday inn clarke quay for $2100, why not holiday inn atrium for $1900? it's only a few blocks to the left of Clarke Quay
  4. the Peninsula Excelsior for $1500 doesnt have free breakfast. The holiday inn for $2100 does. you would still pick the Peninsula Excelsior over holiday inn?
  5. Wait.. the bungee was $280nz above the sky walk price??? sheesh! 😮
  6. oh yuck about the humidity. so i've narrowed my choices to Hmlet ($1100) or a Holiday Inn ($1900 - $2100, depending on which one) because it comes with a great free breakfast so i can skip spending $ on lunch. I also thought about The middle of the ground $1500 hotels like Peninsula Excelsior Singapore (Wyndham) because i'm Diamond at Wyndham and can get a free upgrade plus other small stuff. is there Uber/Grab in Singapore?
  7. oh, i had no idea. 😮 thought they were being cute with the naming

  12. I'm going to debark in Singapore next month and stay 10days. I'm a solo male with carry-on and a backpack. Right now I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express @ Clarke Quay for $675 for 3 days. the original plan was to then goto Kuala Lumpur for 7 days afterwards. Now i'm staying all 10 days in Singapore. I could do $225/day for 3 days. But not $2250 for 10days. 😮 Any cheap places to stay near the casinos? or which area to stay in that's near the casinos?
  13. For the day i will be there next week, i booked a couple of months in advance for 12:30pm. the only tours left as of today are 9am and 12:30 pm. Now i'm getting paranoid as to why those are the last 2 times left. What's wrong with those 2 times?
  14. Going from Sin to KUL in Nov. (Solo male with carry-on and backpack) These are my best options according to Google: For $3 more, i'm thinking Malindo Air. It has more legroom. Although i'm 5'9" and don't need the extra legroom, i'm assuming that more legroom means they Nickle and dime you less with gotcha scummy fees? Which airline would you take/avoid?
  15. i dont eat at the mdr except on lobster night. is the double cheeseburger at the mdr an upcharge??? You can build your own double cheeseburger (with the toppings like onions, bacon, etc) at the mast grill for free. and with toppings/sauce, i cant taste the difference between a big mac and a ground sirlion burger i cook myself 😮
  16. Tonight's buffet included 2 items I've never seen offered (and I've been here since last cruise to Hawaii): Pork belly Bread bowl Unfortunately, the filling options for the bowl was all curry (Beef, fish, veggie). The apprentice cook making this didn't mention curry. I don't like curry. :( oh.. one other item at the buffet that I didn't see last cruise was flank steak. Saw it twice so far this cruise.
  17. Interesting.. knew solstice was in Alaska but Never thought of ice being the culprit. been on several Alaskan cruises but only on ncl. Never noticed paint chipping but now realize Ncl's hulls are mostly white. Doh! Surprised they weren't allowed to paint in Tahiti.
  18. Why isn't the salmon pink? (If you can't tell from the pic, it's white like swordfish.) Mis-labeled and it's not salmon?
  19. The pic in my OP is from the app while I'm still onboard. Good to know they don't do this dumb behavior on their website
  20. What poker cruise? Cas? As in casinos at sea? As in ncl??? Um.. this is a celebrity board
  21. What the hell?!? What the hell??? Is celebrity that desperate for $that they stooped to these dumb tactics?
  22. Pesto is now available at the pasta station. You have to request it. In the past I asked and they said they don't have pesto then I saw a dish in the buffet with pesto a few days ago. I asked a black scarf today and he gave permission to the pasta station to give pesto
  23. With all these double and triple points promos, reaching Ambassador before age 55 is easy. (I'm going to make it on Nov Viva cruise.) Time to create an Ambassador Plus tier, say 1400 points (double Ambassador tier)?
