  1. Apparently you don't have to use your real name for the Ambassador pin. GodEmperor, I Like Ice Cream, Bad at Poker, etc. Soooo many possibilities 😄
  2. looks like the backstage tour is sold out when my cruise ship docks (oct 19). probably getting to the regular tour at noon.
  3. For the koala sanctuary, i pre-bought bought the pic with koala ($25). should i also pre-buy the entrance fee?
  4. Only once since COVID did the free tour have the provisions area in the kitchen gallery tour. Included walk thru of one of the gigantic freezers. Never included the bridge tour for me pre or post COVID
  5. thx. i emailed them for PAPEETE and RAIATEA
  6. Hi I'm a solo male who can't swim. I will be arriving by cruise ship 2nd week of Oct. Excursion prices on the ship are high. Not liking anything on Viator for PAPEETE. (haven't checked RAIATEA yet) Suggestions (and links) for excursions? Thx
  7. Thx for the info. i usually sail m + E class. I'm shocked s-class doesn't have a steak house. 😮 restaurant cut backs that started 6 weeks ago have no effect on ribeyes on Solstice. His thread was created 7 months ago
  8. Currently on solstice from Vancouver to Hawaii (one way). No ribeye :( So far this year: yes ribeye on summit and infinity, no on solstice maybe Ribeyes served on m-class buffet but not s-class? does m-class have Fine Cut steak house? if not then that would explain it. Ribeyes in buffet would conflict with profit from fine cut on s-class . also, s-class has the lawn club grill, which also serves Ribeyes
  9. I'm doing the b2b from Hawaii to Singapore. Ship is in Sydney for about 12hrs minus the time for customs. I dont see the insiders tour for the Opera house? https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/tours-and-experiences What's the name of the zoo? Any other recommendations for tours? (solo male) Thx
  10. Again, I don't think you're mentality for tipping is standard. But it's your$.
  11. Breakaway, getaway, and escape has a Free ropes course on top instead of racetrack. I think the breakaway and getaway ropes course is exactly the same while the escape's rope course is a slightly different and supposedly better.
  12. Interesting that you include a tip for both server and bartender when the server brings you a drink??? I don't think that's standard. But It's your$. We're you a waiter when you were younger and have waiters guilt?
  13. again your assumptions are wrong. i prefer to goto the casino bar because i dont stay in the same spot often. i jump from slot to slot. thats the way i play and i find it enjoyable that way. I'd rather get the drink myself that have the overworked bar waitress with a tray full of drinks looking for me
  14. yes it is the casino bar. On NCL, there's only 1 bar on the entire ship that accepts the casino's free drinks card and that's the casino bar. Your Penrose bar is the only place that accepts it on the Prima. (unless they changed it since was in there in 2022.) So thank you for confirming that the casino bar also doubles as the atrium venue bar.
  15. The bar on the joy (and other ncl mega ships) are in the casino area. It's right next to the aft elevator. But the main difference between them and the prima is that there's no other venue competing for service with the gamblers. On the prima, the usual atrium venues (music, trivia, etc) is right next to the casino bar so I found service (on avg) is slower for gamblers than the other mega ships. There's no space in the actual atrium to hold events because there are revenue generators (ie: Starbucks + shops) there taking up lots of space. So mgmt set up the small space 1 floor down at the area next to the casino bar as an ad hoc atrium venue with all folding chairs. (When I was there in 2022.) So basically the casino bar doubled as the atrium bar. :(
  16. The problem with the Prima casino bar is that it's out in the open, right next to the music events. It gets mobbed. They should have put it inside the casino area like other class ships
  17. 30% off? 😞 i'm used to free cruises from NCL. Would it be free if you chose a lesser cabin?
  18. Royal isnt going smaller. Icon of the Seas broke Royals previous record setting # of pax on any cruise ship. Neither is Carnival. Margi Gras class is their biggest cruise ship. the 2nd of that class was delivered last year. (edit: hm.. it's the Excel class but usually the 1st ship of that class is the name of the class.) Or do you mean Pax are now preferring smaller ships? I don't know. it could be that Prima/Viva are new ships and that's why people are flocking to them. Also, bookings Celebrity's smaller ships are WAY up because they are giving rooms away for free like candy to their casino players. (They never used to send out mass post cards in the past)
  19. Read on social media site that Seaside only has around 150 slots. I'm a NCL person but was thinking of taking a MSC cruise out of Brooklyn, NY. Is it also the small # of slots on the Meraviglia?
  20. the 3rd prima ship has been delayed a year for a re-design due to feedback from Prima. Viva itself has a good change in that the starbucks next to the Foodhall has been taken out for more seating for the Foodhall. lets hope the new Prima Plus class (or whatever they call it) in 2025 wont create new problems
  21. so Escape skipped halifax and st john to arrive in nyc a day early to avoid the mistake of the Joy last month? (trying to beat a hurricane into port)
  22. might be too icy to go down the mountain on the narrow path for any vehicle
