  1. It's pretty accurate. I'm pretty sure I said to go with the flow. People seem to expect alot. I don't. That's all. I am happy to pay for what we receive and nothing more. This is getting complicated! End of my foolish comments
  2. Yeah, I can't even get a free drink which is like who cares. I get laundry. That's it. Who ya gonna call? A gazillion cruises and you are getting nuttin. Ha! Just book the cruise and let the chips fall. I'm not one to complain...just go with the flow .
  3. Titos is what everyone wants. How do I know this? I bartend sometimes at charity events. If someone has another favorite, it's news to me. Crazy, I don't drink it but it's the number one mixed drink ordered. So, if the cruise line doesn't have it, there will be alot of sad sacks.
  4. Nothing to worry about. All is well. People should just simmer down and enjoy the ride. My favorite thing is sleeping on a moving ship. Yes, I am a boat owner that can never sleep while we are moving, but what a great sleep on a ship!! Far from shore, moonlight on the sea, nothing better.
  5. Sneaky is one of my favorite words lately. Applies to just about everything, not to mention everyone. Not everyone, but more than I care to mention. Back to the positive thread about bashing the cruiseline.
  6. We've sailed several times on this ship and absolutely loved it. Been in different category cabins, too, but my absolute favorite was in a quiet cabin on deck one, oceanview. I liked it better than the verandah cabins since it is so quiet without slamming balcony doors. I like a quiet cup of coffee in the morning, and don't wish to hear my neighbor's conversations. Club Orange is awesome too.....it's all shiny and new and all good. Been on many traditional and older ships, but there is something about the NS. The staff is always excellent, as well.
  7. ping pong tournaments onboard when I'm trying to nap by the pool, haha!
  8. One of my best friends brings back dried fish in her luggage from the Phillipines. We all laugh at her because we know that is smelly food!!!
  9. Watch out. Any mystery areas near the dining room could be the galley and that's very noisy. Carts rolling all night long. We learned the hard way once. Only once. That's all it takes.
  10. Same. I don't need almond milk or oat milk or goat milk or flavored liquor whatever that is milk. Just need a coffee and don't ask for lofat milk. Just go with the flow. I always wonder why I stand in line. It does drive me crazy. Such a long line! But, crazy beats lazy any day of the week. That rhymes too!
  11. I'm one who reads the WC reviews here with great interest. Of course, the food on board is important and the entertainment, as well, but I am mainly interested in some of the amazing ports they visit. Some bloggers really go into great detail, and I appreciate that, and even though I doubt I can ever partake in a WC, I can live through the eyes of others. It's truly fascinating, our world. I'd have to sell everything I own, except for the fillings in my teeth, to do it, so it's not likely. But, I thank those who spend the time and money to share their experiences with all of us.
  12. Haha, now I'm totally confused. Not that it's unusual for me lol.
  13. When I saw the title of European menus, I immediately thought of all the menus in Europe that have pictures of the food. Very helpful, I might add. My Italian and Spanish language skills are weak sad to say. But, my love for the food is far from weak!
  14. I just got in from an insanely expensive lunch. Prices are going up up up on everything everywhere. I don't consider those new prices unreasonable. However, I'm probably less likely to bother with specialty dining anymore. People are starting to hit the wall on all price increases in general. The Wall Street Journal has been full of stories about these changes that cause people to make choices. I can easily stick with MDR or club orange.
  15. I think I was a bit crazy to say a pastrami sandwich was my favorite food. Of course it's not! There's a gazillion things to love, including Rudis dover sole, bread pudding, Dutch cafe quiche, and prime rib once a year only. And breakfast in club orange is divine, so elegant and fine. That rhymes!
  16. Our favorite cruises were during the Atlantic Adventure era. The Maasdam 42 day transatlantic to Europe, and the Veendam 49 day transatlantic to Europe. There were people who went on these fall crossings every fall and they were magnificent. Wish they'd bring those cruises back.
  17. The Rotterdam was often overlooked as a favorite ship for many. We loved her. Something special there.
  18. Everything with us is auto pay now. So, we don't really get much mail anymore, but I have a neighbor just put it in a bag for when we return. As far as plants go, I only have succulents now and they survive 4 months at a time without water. I know, amazing. They just look thirsty when I return. I love a long cruise because it's heaven to see parts of the world I've only imagined before. It's humbling, too. Who knew there were that many people and cultures in the world.
  19. Ah, but on some ships it's like the Wizard of Oz. You hear the voice but who is that never before seen person?
  20. A skirt is just as, if not more, comfortable as shorts. That would be my go to on the ship if you want to be casual. You can go anywhere and feel like you are dressed up enough. Secret to my success.
  21. I met Marty and Gail on an Atlantic Adventure and he told me to buy the FCD! So, I do. Every single time. Thanks Marty!
  22. I buy some FCD on the ship and it's the same every time. Quite painless. I wondered for the longest time why I was doing this, but I'd just grab a beer and go. Vaguely, I thought there would be some benefit down the road. As far as the consultants go, they seem a bit stand-offish to me really, and I'd rather do my own searching for my perfect cruise. This does sound crazy, I know, but I do alot of research before I plunk down my cash. Obviously, I don't do any research on FCD, since I have very little knowledge in that direction, lol. I just do it.
  23. I love threads like this one. Gives good information to figure out our next moves. Thanks everyone.
