  1. And the fun thing is, on a back to back sailing, I scored 2 bags! How good is that. One of the very small benefits of my very expensive cruise.
  2. I have fish for dinner probably 5 nights a week. In my opinion, the dover sole in Rudi's is top shelf. Yes, there is the show and all that, but the fish is fresh and light, just as it should be. I cook it frequently at home, but without that fun flair in the restarant lol.
  3. Smoking is gross but I do understand people are addicted. There is nothing but understanding in my heart but it needs to be safe. I'm a boater, with my own personal vessel, and rent a dock space, but people are so callous to throw butts overboard. People should be mindful about the risk to wildlife while they do that. True confession: I do yell over to them. Don't hurt my turtles! And on cruise ships, don't hurt my dolphins! Love one another.
  4. Call them and pay them. It's very simple.
  5. Really appreciate your report. Thank you. Beautiful pictures!
  6. This thread 👏. Congratulations 🎊 on your longevity. Very confusing but nontheless...
  7. I love deck one. Very quiet. The advantage of having no verandah, is no noise from cabins next door. No slamming verandah doors and all that. One flight up to club orange and it's just so easy. The view out the window is amazing.
  8. You know, I seriously wonder how you can trust anyone enough to travel. If you think HAL is trapping you, that is strange.
  9. Sharing a table is not for me. My husband is completely deaf in one ear, and he doesn't want to deal with conversation he cannot hear. People don't understand. They think if they shout, well , that's ok . No it isn't and he chooses to face that on his own terms.
  10. Agree. I've never seen pizza in Italy with pineapple. They just don't do that in Sicily. It's an American custom to put pineapple on a ham but that just is sickening too. 😫 Not to mention the latest fad of bacon on and in everything. And I am quite certain there is someone to dispute this...stay tuned.
  11. I dress up to take out the garbage where I live. It's the peer pressure. But, then I am ready for dinner later on. It's a win win.
  12. Perfect response. No need to borrow trouble, as my mum would say.
  13. It does seem that every time we do a btb, we end up waiting in the lounge area forever for people who decide to roll in way after they are supposed to. I cannot fathom why this always happens except that there are people who feel the guidelines do not apply to them.
  14. Or the fun threads where someone asks if the new day of the drink package starts at midnight. Just so they can carry on. Wow,
  15. "If you don't understand the reason CCL has financial problems and how it impacts the stock and future of their cruise lines that is ok". You actually said that to me. So condescending and unwarranted.
  16. This is, hands down, the most depressing thread ever.
  17. But, to digress, for some people the hush-hush is good. My beloved gets in a good nap during the classical performances. When I've asked him about that, he just nods and says he was "resting his eyes".
  18. We have Whole Foods where I live and you can get escargot every day for 99 cents per. If you are willing to try Holland America because they might serve it every day, don't bother. They don't. But they have really good food and your choices are excellent! Plus, you might have fun trying a different line. Mixing it up and all that.
  19. I love the officers. On my last cruise, my beloved left the show and I was alone. There were a group of dashing officers outside the showroom and I asked one of them to escort me to my stateroom since I can never find it. This was, of course after drinking wine. One was gracious and said yes and I appreciated that kind gesture. And, no, I am not a flirt, just lost at times.
  20. One of my fondest memories is this. We had a young girl on a transatlantic and there were no other young girls her age. She was home schooled and maybe around 11. She was taught to knit on this cruise and it was utterly charming how happy she was. When the long cruise ended, she cried and so did we all. Loved her.
