  1. So enjoyed your travel blog. What a blessing to travel so much and see the world like you do. It would be my dream to do so.
  2. I appreciate reading reviews, but I am usually astonished by very negative ones. These are from people who continue to sail with HAL. If they are that disappointed, maybe sailing on other lines would be better for them. Oh, people here say that I should just scroll by, but it's kind of like a train wreck that you can't help seeing.
  3. Great news. Have missed the libraries onboard.
  4. An added little benefit is that there is a special line for CO at guest services so your wait is shorter. Not that I like to use it. It's a little embarrassing since I feel like I'm cutting a line. So many people wait forever at guest services.
  5. The message is that we are not running a day care center. Message is loud and clear. For the most part, I've seen pretty well behaved kids on sailings but I don't sail during holiday seasons. Nor will I ever.
  6. We always book a lunch in the PG. We don't bother with dinner there anymore since they dropped the king crab legs. Picky me. It is a good deal at lunch especially at half price.
  7. With all honesty, I was thrilled to receive a sleeping cabin when I encountererd unrelenting noise. I saw no problem with that and was happy that one was available. Not being able to sleep is a nightmare for me, and I appreciated having an alternative. I would have slept in a closet to avoid the clanging and banging.
  8. Table for two is always interesting, as you are really close to the next table for two. I dunno, sometimes I talk to the other people but sometimes I get the feeling that I should just be very quiet. Fun for me after a glass of wine or two lol.
  9. I had 2 free upgrades, while onboard. Once was when my cabin flooded, and the other time was when my cabin was next to a very noisy crew station and I complained. I had a free upgrade another time when I was asked before the cruise if I wanted to pay for an upsell and I said no. It happened anyway. Generally, though, I never do expect upgrades and if an upsell comes my way, I may or may not bite. Depends on my mood and what it's worth to me.
  10. I always look, at the end of the cruise, to see if I have any non-refundable OBC left. If I do, it's off to the gift shops I go. L'occtaine calls my name.
  11. Agree. Lately, I've liked Peroni. Wonder if that's on the ships.
  12. If they run out of the basics, like Bud Light, why would you pay more for the beverage package?
  13. Too bad the shuffleboard tournament was cancelled. Another fun activity for seasoned players. I would really dislike having to check my account constantly because of overcharges. A complete waste of time when you should be doing fun things on your vacation. Like shuffleboard.
  14. We were in Club Orange in February for two weeks, and I must be comatose since I don't remember any extra items on the menu. Not saying they weren't there, but I didn't notice. I thoroughly enjoyed our experience, however. Staff was outstanding on the NS.
  15. Personally, I never skip HMC. My husband likes to stay on the ship, but not I. There's very few places better than there to pull up a chair, read a book and enjoy such a beautiful view. Not to mention the pristine water for swimming. I also like the buffet, but again, I'm not cooking so it's all good. LOL.
  16. Agree with much of this except that, while every industry didn't cut back in the name of the pandemic, many of them raised prices significantly. And the pandemic seemed to go on forever.
  17. Agree. Loved it when HALs chefs were onstage with a culinary hostess. Very funny presentations! And great info for guests. They did this all the time in the past...easy to resurrect.
  18. I had a great one. She got laid off. Lucky you. It's not that easy to find a great one. I would have stuck with the one I liked but when they are let go, there's no control at my end.
  19. I always love the laundry service. They do a much better job than I do. Worth every dime.
  20. You can change your PCC. Just go to the general PCC line and someone can help you. I've had several different ones in the past couple years, and I am sure they don't save me any money, but it's all about the convenience for me. So many layoffs has sent different ones my way.
  21. Thank you for your reports. Some of the best entertainment we ever had was watching a few older couples dancing in the Ocean bar at happy hour. Exquisite dancing during transatlantic crossings with some wave action. Such lovely performances.
