Sounds like a great time.  Ive looked at Scenic but really need help understanding the value.  Ive taken dozens of cruises on many lines and have settled on Seabourn and Crystal as my go-tos if I can.  To me, they are near perfect.  Then I see Scenic with prices of $1k a night.  Id be interested to know how such a price point makes sense?  You can only drink so much wine.   Thanks

Hi , This was our first Scenic Cruise. We have sailed with Regent solely since 2009, and were really excited to cruise Scenic. We felt it was value for £ comparing it to Regent.
It’s a completely different cruise. We enjoyed the intimacy of the smaller guest numbers and we got to know fellow guests easily. I know food is a personal preference but we enjoyed all our meals, good choices and locally sourced produce was a highlight.  My husband is not a wine drinker but I enjoy wine and found the inclusive wines were better quality and choice than Regent.
Pre cruise information and documentation could be better, but I am sure that’s an ongoing process to develop. Onboard comfort and standards is exceptional.
We are looking to find another cruise with Scenic in 2025.    Jean.

  2. We cruised onboard Scenic Eclipse 11 from Leith to Dublin.  The ship and the service onboard and food was excellent.  From boarding to disembarking it was truly wonderful.  We did have to miss out St Kilda due to weather conditions, but an extra night In Edinburgh was welcome and the excursion team did a great job of arranging shuttle buses and a trip to a local fishmonger with chef to source fresh fish.
Already we are looking into our next Scenic Cruise.     Jean.

  3. Last year we used Luggage Forward. Main reason for using this was due to the major issues with luggage issues in many airports. It was our first time to use this feature.

We had no problems at all, found it to be well worth the £.
There are very strict rules re certain toiletries and batteries that are not allowed to be included, but as long as you read this carefully and follow the instructions it’s a great service.   Jean.

  4. We used the luggage forward service last year. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. The luggage tags were delivered by hand and the same courier came for the cases on the designated day.

We were a bit apprehensive about leaving luggage unlocked but appreciated it’s compulsory for border security.

We were able to track our cases from the minute they left our home to the hotel. As this was our first time using the service I also contacted our hotel The Sofitel Amsterdam and asked them if they could let us know when luggage arrived, and they did this as arranged.

We knew the cases had been opened as there was a detailed itinerary of all contents inside each case and everything was as exactly as my husband had packed them.  Would definitely recommend this service.   Jean.

  5. To answer your question I would say yes you are over acting here.  You could quite easily have left those items beside the stock which I assume you already had in your cabin ?
If the cabin attendants had inadvertently missed those items you had put in a drawer elsewhere then next occupants may have come across them and been concerned if the cabin had been thoroughly cleaned before they arrived?
No need make a fuss over this at all.
