  1. Hi Welshman we found the covers kept the water marginally cooler but the main feature was no condensation leakage . I carried mine over my shoulder and my husband had his in a wee holder area on back pack .  Depending on how long we were off ship we often need fresh cool beverages now and again 😉. Jean

haven’t heard a peep from Regent and either has my agent. I was just checking my itinerary again and Regent changed my excursion time in Edinburgh from 9 Am to 1:30 PM. We are still arriving at the original scheduled time. Again, no word from Regent. Do I have to check constantly to see if they made changes? Ridiculous.

I would not be expecting Regent to contact every booking reference of individual port excursion changes. There are lots of logistical reasons that the excursion times and schedules change and that can be right up to the day before or day of arrival in port.
I think you are going to have to be more flexible and realistic here and accept that Regent are working hard to ensure they are delivering their included excursions to the best of their abilities in so many different places .   Jean.

I am packing or at least making a list for a trip on Navigator stopping mainly at Canadian ports. I am debating between pumps and sandals for dinner and evenings. (I will be wearing sneakers in the daytime.) Sandals are easier. Ladies: Are the dining room and the bars, lounges  and theatre kept too cold for sandals?

    Hi Whoopie,

I feel the cold likely more than most people. I’ve never felt cold on any of the ships, unless it’s weather related.  The temperature is noticeably cool. I take lots of different pashminas that are great to cover my shoulders and I wear sandals in evening and not felt it too cold.

The theatre is a place I definitely feel it much cooler, so the pashmina helps there.

Ps we really love the Navigator .

We like the Voyager, she is a beautiful ship that looks right and sails very well. We have had aft(ish) suites and not noticed much vibration.  Virtually all ships must vibrate at some time with bow thrusters and pods on the stern.

We have not sailed since Covid began but will be in a couple of weeks or so on Splendor, always happy to fail on Voyager.

    Guerncruising ,

Last year you kindly helped us re a regent excursion while on your lovely island, while we were on our favourite ship Navigator.

We just disembarked Splendor yesterday in Bcn. We had previously sailed few times on Explorer but really liked Splendor much more. The color pallet was more our taste, and it really is beautiful.
Space wise in suite great and it was a fabulous cruise. Great staff onboard and we didn’t want to disembark yesterday. Have a great cruise and thanks again for your advice last year.

Tonight we had a wonderful anniversary dinner in Prime 7.   This is the fourth (Voyager, Mariner, and twice on Splendor) anniversary in last six years spent in Prime 7 and our eighth or ninth overall on Regent.  Made plans with Franck a week ago and everything was fantastic.  Joey and Arriana and all the staff in Prime 7 were wonderful and Ali did a wonderful job on our cabin.

Next two anniversaries will be on Mariner for, I’m sure, equally fantastic experiences.

Again, special thanks to Franck and all the staff and crew in Splendor.

    Marc

Happy Anniversary to you both, Jean and Bill 🥂🥃.

  6. I think your wife will so appreciate and love this thoughtful way of surprising her to celebrate her birthday.  I am sure there will be many warm congratulations from everyone in Prime 7 at time dining as well as the staff.
Wishing you both a fabulous cruise.   Jean.

Hi Jean. We lived in Aberdeen for 5 years but used to drive up and down from North Wales (now that did take forever) I used to work at Foresterhill and Ian worked in Dyce 😁

regent have only allowed 1.5 hours for the Man/LHR transfer both ways.So on the way out we are flying down the night before and rechecking the luggage before we embark the Miami flight (with air tags in the cases) as I really don't want to arrive without my cases. On the way back, not so fussed so have stuck with Regents original flights and as we will check in through to Manchester, they will (hopefully) put us on the next flight if we are delayed but wanted to know what to expect.

thank you all for your replies 😁

Hi Techno it sounds good idea for the overnight stay at Lhr prior to flying out. We have done the same a few times in the past.  We had ordered the Itags for our August cruise, but they arrived while we were happily aboard Navigator . We used luggage forward for the first time and we were glad we did , but didn’t for our return journey.
    Have a wonderful cruise.

I know Foresterhill quite well , we are quite a bit north of Aberdeen .
    Best wishes Jean.

Probably a question for the UK members. We are flying from Miami to LHR and from there to Manchester - BA both flights into and out of T5. What is the process for catching the domestic flight after we land at LHR? Had a look at the website and it refers to following the purple and white signs hand luggage check and security so does that mean we have to go through passport control? And will that be at the gate we arrive (don't know if that will be A, B or C - I think domestic flights usually leave from A gates). Many thanks and sorry for hi-jacking your thread jeb_bud

    Hi Techno,

We have taken that route you are on quite a few times . Our connection flight it’s to Aberdeen and also A gates. You need to follow the purple signs for T5 flight connections . You will go through passport control and then to security. In August this took ages as only 2 of the hand luggage belts were operational and it was a very lengthy process. Also there was no fast track line at the security area.  As Lonedaddy said the website information is quite helpful.  Jean.
