Fudge I followed your live blog on SS was very enjoyable and informative Jean

Sorry I forgot to mention no charge for speciality restaurants.

Good morning Fudge,
We twice sailed from Monte Carlo. Both times we stayed at Fairmont Hotel. Location is good, but I would say second stay things looked tired . It’s not in the league of the Fairmont standard in Canada, but it has possibly been upgraded ? Think our last stay was 2018.
Regarding the speciality restaurants you can book one visit to each , either table for two or option to share. Also once onboard you can ask your butler if he can arrange a second visit, or often there is an option at a desk to check availability.Jean.

Gilly wishing you safe travels and hope your mother in law remains well.
Yes please make sure that there is enough 🥂🍾🍷 for us please. I will be following your blog as usual, best wishes , Jean.- 1

Dear Gilly and Pingpong, how kind of you both for your lovely words. Yes it feels a long time since our last cruise, was 2019 Mariner.
We are boarding Navigator a real favourite of ours. We board in Amsterdam and I think you disembark that day Gilly? One of these days we will meet onboard. Trying to keep organised with all the new things to remember 😊.Best wishes to you both and thanks again, Jean.

Thanks all very much. We are Regent hotel night pre cruise and the usual transport to pier. Sometimes we do just take a taxi , so will see what time we manage to book for boarding.

We have our long awaited first post pandemic cruise next month. The online check in is due later this month.
Can anyone please let me know what this asks for and do you need to upload a photograph ? Do you book your time for boarding at this point?
Thanks in advance , Jean. -
It’s a delicious looking trifle for the celebration. Agree it would be a real treat to have this onboard for everyone to enjoy . Jean

Wonderful photos thanks for posting. We were booked on this cruise too but cancelled around January time and moved to August. So glad you are having a great cruise.

Hi ,
Stirling castle is really worth a visit. Perched on a volcanic plug, it has great views. Very interesting buildings and history and great views. Nice gardens.
Dunrobin Castle is in a lovely fairly quiet setting. Also offers lovely views. It has a really good maze in the gardens and when we visited we were so lucky to see the falconery display.
All you mentioned will be worth a visit but when you have to narrow down your options, those would be our choices. Jean.- 2

To be honest I’ve not heard of those or had the option for our cruise in August. Jean.

Gilly,
We board Navigator in Amsterdam the day you disembark. Sorry we won’t meet you. Jean.

That’s very helpful . We did see the hospital museum mentioned when we looked up options of tours. It all sounds easy enough on our own if we can’t get a place on the ships tours.
Much appreciated,Jean.

Thanks very much for the info . Jean

We are booking our excursions for Navigator cruise August . Admittedly I should have sorted this out earlier. The specific tour my husband was keen on is sold out with no offer to WL .
It’s the military museum tour. Can you do this tour on your own? Hopefully we can enquire at Destination desk when we board , but thanks in advance for any advice .

I also received an email about St Petersburg being eliminated from my September Splendor cruise. I am fine with not putting money into the Russian economy in these circumstances. This is hardly the first time ports have been eliminated due to situations in the world, and it won’t be the last. I don’t know yet what will be substituted—Regent may choose to avoid the region altogether.
We are merely inconvenienced. Ukraine is devastated.
Completely agree with your thoughts. Jean.

Hi Govanguy,
We took a very similar cruise on Navigator Montreal to Miami in 2014. Good few of your new ports were on the itinerary. One of our best cruises ever . Really enjoyable ports . I realise it’s not exactly the cruise you booked, what are your own thoughts ?

Susan thanks for posting this information. We have been with our TA for over 20 years and have always had a good discount of at least 10% and excellent service and support.
This is not good news at all for the TA and client. We haven’t heard anything about this change , but we are due to sailon Voyager in April and will be in contact with her to pay balance If the cruise is going ahead, so she may mention this to us. I tried to post this earlier today but seems to be problematic for some reason.

Susan yes very sad news of the world cruise cancellation and the relevant segments . Feel for all those who have travelled to SF and overcome the hurdles and to get there.
Hope your flight delay is not too long , it’s a long enough overnight flight home to LHR.Safe travels and thanks for a great live thread. Jean.

Susan that brings back lovely memories of seeing Captain McNeil wearing his kilt onboard Navigator.
All onboard enjoy the last few days on the Mariner. Jean. -
Happy New Year to you all onboard. Enjoying all the live posts . Lovely menu for last night Hogmanay dinner . Thanks for keeping us all updated.

Thank you for taking us along with you on this festive cruise. You have kept us well informed and those food photos are just so good.
I like especially your New Year’s Eve peaceful and special dinner, enjoy the last few sea days, and happy new year to you all. Jean.
Watch out for London Heathrow !
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Bill to be honest I don’t really expect people to put any blame on Regent for flights through Heathrow . For us we fly from Aberdeen airport to Heathrow and then connect to forwarding flight. That’s the only route for most of the flights we would be taking and it’s currently well known and advertised that issues are widespread here in UK.
We just hope for the best and and are fully aware of the issues we can’t control. Jean.
