  1. another reason to book directly with the airline. cut out the middleman. probably worth the change fee to get an earlier (non-stop) flight, good luck
  2. we don't know what your preferences are. That said, the wines on the classic list (there are no champagnes on it) are barely drinkable, IMHO. If you are planning on ordering wine, I would most definitely upgrade.
  3. Does it matter? I’m trying to be helpful to the OP, even if they are mistaken about the cruise line
  4. Fly nonstop to Venice. Take a taxi to the train station. Take the train to Trieste. Go a day or 2 early, it is a beautiful city
  5. A noon flight should be fine. Personally I would not worry about it. Of course something could happen, but you have lots of options out of NYC if there are delays.
  6. does it have to be on the website to be "a promise?" If the butler says it will be back same day, that is a promise. Not sure why you have to defend poor service.
  7. If they are promised same day delivery for laundry, then it should be delivered. If for some reason the ship can't deliver, then they should let that be known. It is NOT an unreasonable expectation to get what is promised. I agree with the above posters who recommend leaving a note for you steward/butler with stateroom requests e.g. ice, drinks, etc. IMO that works well for everyone.
  8. If I had that poor of a time (especially the bad food) I would not risk a repeat. Save your money and find a better product. Carnival is getting worse, not better.
  9. Rideshare or Taxi is available in every city (airport) in the world. Or arrange thru the hotel (more $$$). As far as hotels, check the port specific threads. Also (As mentioned above), search the websites of the large hotel brands you are familiar with, and see if they have properties that would be conveniently located. Any hotel can arrange a taxi from the hotel to the port.
  10. since you're boarding soon, perhaps you can quite easily find the answer yourself. Bon Voyage!
  11. this. I only work out so I can eat more and still fit into my pants.
  12. +1. they do have ginger and oranges/juice available there, as well as many other fresh fruits and veggies. A great way to start the day, especially after an early morning work-out.
  13. you don't need to contact celebrity in advance. I have done this a couple times (Hong Kong and Singapore). Just talk to Guest Relations as some point during the cruise (preferably at least a couple days before you want to depart.) They will have you sign a form that says you will not get any money refunded because you voluntarily left early. Very simple. As mentioned above, you will need to carry your own luggage off. You can (should) get some help from your butler/attendant.
  14. Thank you for the thorough review. agree with some of your points: (wife and I also on Splendor in Superior Suite) 1. door to balcony was a challenge to open - discovered that if you "lean" into the door it would then slide easily (of course you should not have to do this!) 2. doors on deck 11 - should be auto-opening/sliding 3. I Gusti was awesome and overworked 4. Meridian Lounge cocktails were great 5. crew was fantastic 6, main dining room excellent However (big difference of opinion) - wife and I thought the food in Pacific Rim was excellent. We are both big Asian food fans (wife is a professionally trained chef), Lamb was outstanding. Agree that the restaurant itself is stunning. we never had a problem getting loungers by the pool, even on sea days (ship was 90%+ capacity)
  15. there are elevators on every Celebrity ship.....
  16. possibly the best question asked on cruise critic ever. unless you brought rappelling gear or a tall ladder, you won't have much of a choice.
  17. they don't charge any more for alcoholics than others.
  18. you are a strong person ! I would have the 5 year old pull me in a cart
  19. awesome video (and soundtrack)! thanks for posting this
  20. carrying a 5 year old on a hike? do you know how much a 5 year old weighs? LOL
  21. Avoid Paris. Not even close. Agree that the non-stop is well worth a premium.
  22. fair enough. but the rest of the complaints are legitimate, IMO.
