  1. Avoid Paris. Not even close. Agree that the non-stop is well worth a premium.
  2. fair enough. but the rest of the complaints are legitimate, IMO.
  3. I'm going to disagree with your opinion. This does not sound like something a 20 something would consider a fun time. This sounds like something their grandparents would think they would enjoy. I love Oceania, but it is not the line for 20's who want to listen to music and socialize.
  4. there is no way I would risk using this service. Yes, luggage can be a pain. You know what eases that pain? Tip the porters. Tip the cab driver. Tip the curb check in agent at the airport. For a lot less $$$ (and very little hassle) you can almost guarantee that your bags will make it. But good luck to those that chose to use it.
  5. well if the prices go up and the quality declines, then I would say that the overall value and experience has gotten worse. Of course it's up to the individual to decide when to say "no more" and take their business elsewhere.
  6. you would be mistaken. Celebrity (and most of the cruise lines) are desperate for revenue and cost containment. I am a long time Celebrity fan, but it is not the same experience (outside of suite class.) The cheerleaders on this board who defend Celebrity at all costs is ridiculous - "buss your own tables, ask for larger portions", etc etc. You are paying for an expected level of service and quality which sadly, is no longer reliably there.
  7. Had 2 wonderful cruises in the last 6 months on the Explorer and Splendor. Thinking of booking our next one on the Navigator. I realize it is an older ship and only has Prime 7 (no Chartreuse or Pacific Rim) Other than that, anything to be concerned with? Don't mind an older ship so long as it is well maintained. thanks in advance for your feedback.
  8. I have stayed at both JW Marriott’s in Miami ( including the Brickell last week) and highly recommend them both
  9. this is not a TSA regulation (no check in prior to 3 hours) some airlines have this rule, and it can vary from airport to airport, and even from terminal to terminal at the same airport (JFK for example) Totally unrelated, Delta did in fact (as did Amex Centurion clubs) institute the 3 hour rule for their clubs, to reduce crowding.
  10. Booking an excursion through the ship does not guarantee they will wait for you if your tour is delayed. The promise is that they will get you to the next port at their expense if you do miss the ship. this would be a very unlikely circumstance , but it has happened (bad accident or similar)
  11. I recommend Meclizine (available as Dramamine Less Drowsy Formula) in the USA. It is available OTC and can be purchased inexpensively on Amazon (or Walgreens Pharmacy) in the generic form. The pill is 25mg and you might consider starting with a half pill once per day. My wife gets drowsy with a full pill, so she uses a half. Start taking it 24 hours before you get on the ship to give it time to take effect. I am not familiar with Cinnarizine. Dimenhydrinate seems to make most people drowsy.
  12. If you are asking about Mumbai, India, then good luck getting a definitive answer. India's Government is about as dysfunctional as they get. I have traveled to India dozens of times and it can best be described as organized chaos. I would expect it so start once passengers leave the ship, and continue for as long as it takes.....
  13. Thanks for the frank review. The apologists here are entertaining, to say the least. Prices are up yet quality, quantity, and service is down - not a recipe for success. Being in a bad financial state is no excuse. Hopefully they can get their act together or they will lose a lot of customers, especially their long-time loyal cruisers who recognize the deterioration.
  14. I recommend the Champipple - part champagne, part Ripple.. (HT to the great Redd Foxx)
  15. because they hope you will give them enough revenue to offset their minimal cost for the "free" cruise
  16. You sound like a MBA corporate CFO. As mentioned above, this works great until enough of your customers decide the product is not worth the price, and you don't have enough revenue to pay the bills. Is this where Celebrity is headed? Time will tell.
  17. actually is is happening. you are just choosing not to participate. safe travels.
  18. TIP/TRIP: My tip is to drink as much as possible in the allotted 2 hours, then not trip on the way back to your room.
  19. I have booked many with them. I found a great agent and stick with him.
  20. actually, it affects your vision because that can happen with anti-histamines. (side-effect)
  21. you don't need a prescription for meclizine (in the US). Buy it on Amazon or wal-mart for about $5 and let your doctor spend more time with patients who are ill. As mentioned, it is supposed to be "less-drowsy", but like all medications, it affects people differently.
  22. Shellback ceremony is for crossing the Equator, not the IDL.
  23. my parents are on a Celebrity cruise in Jan 2023 and just got an e-mail that has the offers for the wine packages. Not sure if they are available directly on their website.
