  1. We bought a painting that the in-residence artist had been painting and finished on our NY to Montreal trip. There were prices on the paintings he was selling. He had one more trip from Montreal to Miami and then he was going home. He had been on the ship for over a year.
  2. We have traveled on the Marina and the Riviera in the aft Oceania suites. We enjoyed the extra space and extra bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised on both ships with the "swag" we received in addition to the things named on the website. Besides the six full size bottles of alcohol, bottle of champagne, blue logo tote bag...We also got two logo beach towels, logo ball cap and visor, and another terry cloth beach bag. There were also some very yummy cinnamon ball candies that I have not been able to purchase in the United states. It has been a few years since we sailed Oceania and I am wondering if they still do this. And if they do it on the R Class ships.
  3. We were in the Owner's Suite on the Spirit in July 2019. The shaking and noise was so bad whenever the ship exceeded 16 knots it was crazy. We left Southampton about 10 hours late and the ship was doing 19-21 knots for several days. I emailed our NCL cruise consultant with a few iphone videos. Within a few hours we had a manager in our suite profusely apologizing. Our friends in a veranda had the same problem. We were both given a percentage of our cruise fare in future cruise credits. We felt this was very fair of NCL. PS - I broke my foot in Southampton the night before the cruise. I had a prescription painkiller and I slept like a baby. IMG_0357.MP4 IMG_0361.MP4
  4. Before we booked with the TA I got pricing direct from Azamara and the TA. Both had the nonrefundable deposit. It may be that it is a suite(?) But Azamara said it was the offer. (We had also been contemplating Holland America for the Japan cruise which did not have a nonrefundable deposit.) We chose to try Azamara for the smaller ship, itinerary, and longer port times.
  5. Both these cruises are booked with the half off the second person. Outstanding prices for the World Owner's Suites. That was part of the promotion. The TA only has a $50.00 cancellation fee.
  6. I am in the USA. I booked a cruise for April 2024 in February of 2023 with an $1100 nonrefundable deposit. Then I booked a cruise for January 2024 in April 2023 with a $2200 nonrefundable deposit. Azamara is the only cruise line that we have sailed with that has a Nonrefundable deposit. It seems like several of the cruise lines are going to a nonrefundable deposit.
  7. We are also on the January 3, 2024 sailing. We are traveling with another couple. We just purchased our airfare. I see that you started the CC Roll Call for January 3. We really like Oceania Cruise Lines. We have several friends that like the R Class ships with 600-700 passengers. They have traveled both Azamara and Oceania and like them both. We started out on Celebrity but found that comparing port times, itineraries and price, they fall short. We have traveled on NCL in top suites. After the last two cruises my husband said he is done with NCL - pretty bad food. The cabins were still very nice and the service excellent. I will continue to check Celebrity and NCL out for future trips. We have also booked three nights in Victoria Falls, one transit night in Johannesburg, three nights at Kurger Shalati, and another night in Johannesburg before we fly home. We are doing this on our own. We booked our own airfare, and the hotels will arrange airport transfers. We saw an Apple+ tv show staring Eugene Levy called "The Reluctant Traveler" (8 episodes), one of the episodes was Kruger Shalati. Will you be flying through Atlanta?
  8. Which sailing date are you currently booked? We are also sailing Pursuit South Africa in January 2024?
  9. Has anyone stayed at any of the World Resort Sentosa Hotels? (Universal Studios) Equarius Ocean Suites Equarius Hotel Equarius Villas Equarius Tree Top Lofts Crockfords Tower Hard Rock Hotel Hotel Michael
  10. AzAmazing Celebrations (azamara.com) We are new to Azamara. This is what is currently on their USA website. I will be somewhat disappointed if this doesn't happen on our two Azamara cruises. But the reality is that we booked our two cruises based on itinerary, length in ports, and value. This is the 2023 event calendar AzAmazing Celebrations.pdf (azamara.com)
  11. We are booked in April 2024 for a 15 night Asia Intensive Voyage from Tokyo to Singapore on the Journey. It was supposed to be our first Azamara cruise. (We then booked a South Africa cruise for January 2024.) Did you stay in any pre or post cruise hotels? Which ones? What was the Azamazing event? And which port was the event? Any other first time Azamara Cruisers advice?
  12. Our TA has been able to book two cruises for us since the changeover. They are not until January and April.
  13. When this comes up, try clicking the "Upcoming Cruises" button an second time. I did this and mine came up.
  14. Where did you/planning to stay in Victoria Falls. Did you fly Air Link?
  15. Would love to know who you used in Victoria Falls. Also, where did you stay, What airline did you fly? (AirLink?) We just booked for January 2024r and will do Victoria Falls and Kruger NP on our own. Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated. heartfelttraveler@aol.com
  16. We are considering this cruise in either January or February For those that traveled this year (2023) on the Africa voyages, did Azamara have access to the USA Football Playoff games and the Super Bowl? The last few years we have been out of the country for his beloved football. Once the Super Bowl was replayed in the evening in the theater with a Super Bowl type party. Some playoffs he had to watch on his phone or tablet live at very odd times. Before I book, I want to give him a accurate assessment of what he can watch on an Azamara ship in Africa. Thanks for your (non-judgmental) information.
  17. My cruise does not show up when I sign in. BUT If I go to this site Reservation - Azamara Luxury Cruise Vacations and then sign in, my booking does show up. I got to this point by initiating a booking, clicking on a booking and then copying the url and pasting it on a new page. Then I sign in. I am in the USA
  18. We have done two Oceania cruises (so far) on the larger ships (Marina and Riviera) and loved both. I wanted to do the cooking class, but my husband was reluctant. I informed him that he "did" want to do it and booked it. He LOVED it. I would highly recommend it.
  19. You also have to include stemware, washing stemware, and disposal of the bottle when empty.
  20. I go through squaremouth. I have purchased TinLeg, Allianz, and IMG. We had a medical emergency in Costa Rica in June of 2022. It took a while, but TinLeg paid in full. Had to show proof of payment in US dollars because all the invoices were in Spanish and CR Colones. We always purchase insurance for our international trips - hoping that it is money wasted🤪
  21. With Google Translate you need to be sure to download the language so you can use it offline.
  22. Thanks for a great review. You gave me a smile and some chuckles. Thinking of booking Azamara South Africa Intensive.
  23. QUESTION - When I research cruises on the new website, choose a cruise, and go to see what cabins are available - when I choose a category, instead of going to a list of available cabins, it goes directly to ask for my personal information or sign in. Is that what is happening for everyone?
