  1. We mistook those for grill marks. But, now that you mention it …
  2. We were served cans of Diet Coke on the Caribbean Princess in March. But not always. In September on Sapphire, it was always cans. Mrs BV would prefer caffeine free Diet Coke. If anyone spots it, give us all a shout.
  3. I would avoid anything Princess identifies as a “strip loin”. Mrs BV ordered one and could barely cut or chew it. It may have been a one off, but she would never order it again.
  4. The friendliest crews at sea. self service laundry. An enjoyable MDR experience, including effective handling of food allergies. a positive experience with crew chat when a problem arose. Fair pricing, especially the Plus package. (YMMV) older, smaller ships without features that attract a wilder crowd. Excellent bar entertainers.
  5. Crooners does seem to fill up fast once the music starts. We’ve done pretty well arriving after dinner and before anyone sits down at the piano. We always end up sharing a 4 top with any strangers that show up after the last table has been claimed.
  6. We did a 10 day Panama Canal in March. I might have seen a couple tuxes. I took a dark suit and tie, and decided that was the last time. In September we did Alaska and I was never more formal than a collared shirt with a sweater. I have a tux that will stay in the closet from now on.
  7. In the case of our last cruise, often at the wrong times. it pays to visit the gym and get a copy of the schedule. Mrs BV showed up at Patter time and discovered she was an hour late for the yoga class. There was no problem with laying out her mat and giving herself a class though.
  8. No doubt a gift from Princess IT for all your complimentary posts.
  9. It’s not a rumor when Princess issues a press release. Was I dreaming?
  10. It’s the old app. The one that drives people to drink.
  11. It’s that 15 drink limit that has my phone worried.
  12. I checked the App Store today to see if the new Princess app was available. I got a chuckle at what popped up next to the medallion app.
  13. As I understand it, MDR lunch will be served 12-1:30 regardless of when they let the first passengers aboard. That might shorten the window some. My routine is to get a drink first and then head for the MDR.
  14. I had a Manhattan with it and I think I paid $1.18 over my Plus allowance. Hard to judge in a mixed drink but I didn’t dislike it.
  15. Too tight for me to be comfortable. We were held on the ship until 9:30, although we were far from the first group to debark. What happens if you miss the tunnel window? Is it a 30 or 60 minute delay? It’s a pretty ride but I don’t think I would be enjoying it if I was stressing over my arrival time.
  16. Your cabin attendant will supply them if you request once onboard. We got ours the first day, but late due to all of them having to be washed.
  17. We can hope that the new app was written by a different third party than the last one. A more competent one.
  18. MSC will match your status. Although I’m pretty sure that’s not what you’re interested in.
  19. It may depend on the date and itinerary sailed. We have been under the pool deck and it was silent. Of course, Alaska in September. The Piazza does host some noisy events. But after bedtime, I wouldn’t expect it to be loud, if that’s your concern.
  20. I feel like I read somewhere that the medallion was manufactured in Singapore. But a Google search came up with a 2021 joint announcement between Carnival and Jabil manufacturing that the medallions were being produced in the Dominican Republic. As far as distribution, it sounds like they are being shipped through a midwestern hub. No big surprise, given customers across the US and Canada.
  21. It sounds like you would be seated. You should show up with one in your pocket next time. That way you’re covered no matter what.
  22. I get several every week. Maybe close to daily. Email marketing is pretty inexpensive. I don’t think Princess would let up even if every cabin was booked through the next year.
  23. Quite a few of us on this board are senior citizens. And comfortable with technology. The medallion app in its current form is challenging at times for the best of us. If you post specific questions, you will probably get some help. But playing the senior citizen card won’t get you much.
