  1. Some have reported that they weren’t charged even though the $10 showed on the app. Others have had to see GS onboard to get a $10 OBC refund.
  2. We haven’t found one yet, but the June cruise is with the grandkids and they’re psyched.
  3. We all have our idiosyncrasies. I never turn on the television once I’m on board. Of course, I don’t watch it at home either.
  4. LOL. That’s what one side’s lawyer says. The other one says the operator was negligent for failing to verify age or enforce stated limits. Age is a pretty arbitrary way to eliminate or control risk. If the excursion was in the US, I would expect a long list of warnings and/or exclusions; under 5, over 75, under 350 lbs, no pregnant women, no pacemakers, no wheelchairs, etc.
  5. March 8. 9 am. Old app still up and functioning.
  6. There are some out there that could eat their weight in specialty desserts daily. Not recommended, of course. But gratuities, internet, mocktails, water, soda, casual dining might get them to breakeven.
  7. 99 days out and mine shows “Board Games Available”. Woohoo.
  8. I found the shuttle “lines” to be chaotic with much elbowing to get on the smallish busses. I did spot a few walkers and they didn’t look like they were enjoying themselves. I think the park and ride back option is what I’ll be going for in June.
  9. It sounds like someone in Purchasing overprocured the old stuff and they need to get rid of it first.
  10. We are used to eating breakfast separately. She usually has an early morning physical activity planned (at home and at sea). On a cruise I head for the MDR and meet her at the IC later where she has breakfast.
  11. Think back to when you were 17 or 20 and lied about your age and got away with it. It will probably feel just as good. Get a fake id if you like. You’re only as old as you feel.
  12. I would have thought Lavazza was completely rolled out fleetwide by now. It was on Sapphire in September.
  13. Our first ever MDR dinner glasses of wine took too long to arrive. After that, we have always stopped at a bar for a glass each to carry in. Then when we sit down, we order a second from our waiter. For some reason, these have always arrived before we finish our first. Thus, we are pleased. I have used the app twice to order and in the first case it took about 45 minutes. In the second, it took more like 15 minutes. I don’t like waiting longer than 5 minutes for a drink so will only use the app in the future if I already have a drink in my hand.
  14. I have no way of predicting what 3000 others will do. What if they all decide to avoid the crowds and board late?
  15. Stockperks drew half as many responses on the Carnival forum as Princess but way more than any other line here on CC.
  16. Shareholder OBC is more likely to attract new cruisers than loyalty OBC. And Princess/Carnival is trying to attract new cruisers all the time.
  17. It wouldn’t hurt them unless they needed to issue a significant number of new shares. And issuing new stock would be a much more troubling action than dropping the shareholder OBC. It would tell me lenders were turning them down.
  18. My dining reservations are now showing under My Journey. I never noticed before, but an end time is now shown i.e. 5:00-7:00.
  19. I am surprised they didn’t reshoot my photo at embarkation in September. My beard is about 8” shorter. My wife had hers redone in March because the one I took at home was too distant. They wanted no more than head and shoulders.
  20. I can’t find any reports on a Stockperks data breach. Where’s your stock account?
  21. That’s right. Tables of $5 t-shirts in the Piazza.
  22. How fortunate you are to have two hollow legs! The 15 drink limit was made for you! I only have the one and have never exceeded 6 in 24 hours. ☹️
  23. No shot of bourbon, but each of my Princess Plus cruises have involved specialty drinks from IC between 7 and 9 am with no charges incurred. I would guess that’s corporate policy. But there may be individual entrepreneurs at work on given ships. Perhaps one last chance for a department manager or bar manager to boost performance for a given cruise. OTOH, I tend to credit incompetence at any given level for most of the goofy stuff I encounter in life. I think incompetence outweighs dishonesty. But that’s just my observation.
  24. Casa Bonita in Denver seats 1,100 and is 52,000 square feet (4,800 square meters?). Back in the day they took reservations for large parties only. I’m not sure how it’s done today, but I’m curious if anyone has been since it reopened.
