  1. It is in the Port Stephens area but it is a big area. Where?
  2. My son arrived home today from his SP cruise on RCI Ovation/ Enjoyed himself however there was COVID on board. He is ok ATM however the couple he went with have come down with it. He was to supposed to come home with them in their car but opted to take the train instead. I picked him up from Cardiff station. While driving to the station there was a news flash on the radio that an aircraft had crashed into Lake Macquarie. Tonight I learned it was a gyrocopter and it crashed right where I usually go winsurfing. It was, coincidently, the same one I saw on Saturday landing and taking off at Warners Bay. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-04-03/gyrocopter-crash-lake-macquarie-marmong-point/103662286

  4. Except for New Zealand there are no land masses to speak of so and IMHO, it would not matter either way as the ship will be quite some distance from the NZ coast. Instead, work out which you prefer, sunrises or sunsets and go with that.
  5. A few of days ago when shopping at a couple of local supermarkets for pistacchio nuts I started checking their origin. I found some were Australian (a surprise to me), one bag had no origin and a third was from USA but none from Turkiye. While there I bought some Turkish dried apricots.
  6. I recall a "tick gate". IIRC it was between Grafton and Casino.
  7. My late wife and I cruised Budapest/Amsterdam in 2018. Our final choice of operator was between Avalon and Scenic. We chose Avalon because we summised there would be a broader demographic of nationalities compared to Scenic which, as an Australian brand, would possibly have had a greater proportion of Aussies and Kiwis. Since then I believe Scenic now attracts a more diverse range of nationalities and is popular with N. American cruisers. As for Avalon, we loved it, it was perfect. I particularly liked the beds being across ship rather than parallel. We could lie in/on our bed looking straight out, through the large sliding windows, at the world passing by. Avalon had included tours in each city and special busses for pax with mobility issues with tours adapted to suit.
  8. YES - WE HAVE A WINNER AT LAST. It was at Memphis Zoo. We went there after our Mississippi cruise. Your turn Kristelle
  9. Another hint. A city in Egypt of same name.
  10. Hint. Recent Pacific Encounter cruise. The King has left the ship.
  11. Time for another hint. Pacific Encounter
  12. The Easter bilbie missed my place. Guess I'll just have to go and buy my own - at least it will be cheaper now.
