  1. Yup, probably right. It does seem strange. P&O introduce two large family friendly ships, but forget the family amenities. It's like Centre Parcs without the swimming pool ! So who decided to gave a family ship, with no family amenities?
  2. Just to add, are the Jet2 check in staff the friendliest you have ever met . The staff in BHX are brilliant!
  3. Thanks to this forum, Mrs W and I now have annual worldwide cruise insurance through Nationwide for less than £300 per year. But, we are not covered for any existing medical conditions.
  4. I could use that when Mrs W opens the fridge door, looking for a sneaky chocolate !
  5. Would it be the end of the world if you had to wear a tie ?
  6. Other, meaning of course the Arison family, plus of course various ME families. Us small shareholders are insignificant.
  7. Yes, supposedly for 4 hours, but never seen a warden.
  8. We had a club minisuite on Regal last year, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Strolled in around 20:00 each night, and always sat in the same general area with the same wait staff. We were on first name terms after a couple of visits. After the first two nights, the waiters would go and get our preferred choice of wine before we even ordered it. Food service was extremely fast - in fact we quite often asked for a delay between courses. The same people seemed to be eating each nighy, so it became a convivial social event as we chatted away. The additional main course choice was OK, but we normally ate off the standard menu, but I did tend to do a lot of "mix and matching". Also, it was a far better breakfast experience than eating in the MDR. So, in our opinion, a far, far better experience than the MDR. BUT - the premium price over and above a standard minisuite is quite substantial, and, in all honesty, unless there was a special offer, we would probably not book it again.
  9. Hmm - I'm struggling! A drive through the wolds is pleasant, Louth on market day passes a couple of hours, and obviously fish and chips in Cleethorpes. Although it is an hour or so away, the obvious main attraction is Lincoln, with the castle and cathedral.
  10. I have to say that we didn't find Island crowded. As to looking tired, our cruise was about four years ago, so can't give you an up to date opinion.
  11. Sindhu menu rotates on a weekly basis, but in such a way that you would normally get both menus in any 7 day period, if that makes sense. I think the Ocean Grill menu remains the same, but I am sure others will confirm one way or another.
  12. We were planning on walking into Lincoln from the Grandstand this morning, but the fog rolling in off the Trent put us off. Looks like a day of leisure beckons - much as every other day, to be fair.
  13. We did a Panama transit on Sky shortly after the refit with the extra cabins added. We thoroughly enjoyed it, but have subsequently cruised on Sky and Regal. Despite having more passengers, we preferred both of them to Island - far more dining and bar options. If the itinerary was unbeatable, we would sail on Island again, but otherwise she would not be our preferred choice.
  14. But of limited use whilst Iona constantly sails to the fjords in the summer months. However, for a Caribbean based ship, such as Ariva, it does seem to be a strange omission.
  15. Published on another social media forum. I have no reason to doubt its authenticity.
  16. The number of stocks held by private small investors is infinitessimal in the scale of things. If everyone of us who have 100 shares were to sell tomorrow, the share price would barely move.
  17. Never finished work until 17:30 or so, then a commute of 90 minutes, so I was never home before 19:00, let alone eating dinner !
  18. Sorry to resurrect this thread, but contrary to Moley's post, CPS are clearly stating that Carnival gad a direct input into the new prices. The attached document is from CPS.
  19. I'm aware that my comment about Americans dining early was an enormous generalisation. I still remember on my first ever cruise, wondering why so many people were queueing outside the MDR at 17:00. It never crossed my mind that anyone would eat that early !
  20. Sorry, I have not stayed in either of those, but I'm sure that for 5 or 6 hours they will be fine.
  21. They are all reasonable budget hotels. Personally, I would choose a city centre hotel, for shopping, meals etc. There is nothing of interest near the Premier Inn, apart from the airport of course ! Do these hotels actually offer day rooms ?
  22. At least you have plenty of time ! Depending on which hotel and how much luggage you have, you could possibly even walk to your hotel.
  23. I'd have no problem at all if you were playing some good old rock and roll, but no rap or drill please !
