  1. So, for EU cruises, the definitive answer is that you have to collect your luggage.
  2. Well, we've had an interesting evening. Just about to put our duck legs in the oven (yup, I am sophisticated!) and the electricity goes off. Fortunately we have battery operated candles, and have just receieved 84 batteries from Amazon at a silly price, so we can see where we are. And we have just opened a bottle of wine, so all is ok. Power comes back on. Decide not to risk cooking, so make tuna sandwiches and crisps. Then watch two episodes of The Watcher on Netflix. Recommended. Power then goes off again, so obviously we do the sensible thing, and open another bottle of red. 45 minutes later- power back on, and we can see the last 45 minutes of Masterchef. As an aside, the new masterchef judge is very photogenic. Mrs W and I were just discussing tonights events, in the light of possible issues later this winter. It is important to have some sort of constant light source immediately to hand, and to stock up with batteries sooner rather than later. It is surprising how dark your house is when all the lights, including street lights, go out. Here ends my public information bulletin !
  3. Just shows that the CC IT department is even worse than P&O. And that is a pretty low standard.
  4. Yes, wine by the bottle is sold. We just buy the Ollie Smith house wine.
  5. Even us Brits would tip in a London restaurant, if the service was OK ! But please, no more than 10%!
  6. $40 pppd for a lounger. I believe there is a discount if you book for the duration of the cruise.
  7. Yes, but unlike the Sanctuary, you cannot reserve specific loungers (chair hogs aside !)
  8. Yes, but only at a level that us Brits would give, and, as you say, only when they are expected, which is not often.
  9. So in fact the share price has improved in recent weeks !
  10. It will most likely be a TUI charter, and certainly will not go via the US. As Billy says, surely you must know which airport you selected when you booked the cruise?
  11. They mave have tipping cultures, but tips would not be at the US level.
  12. Highly unlikely that you will be flying BA. Do you even know which airport you are using ?
  13. I think that should read 695.80. Still pretty dismal though !
  14. As a result of increased American tourists, and their insistence on introducing their tipping culture, regardless of local norms.
  15. Run up to the Sanctuary as soon as you board. Do not go to your cabin, do not get a drink, just get there as fast as you can and hope that there are still places available.
  16. Thanks for the update. Only fly PE, so wasn't sure what happened behind the curtain !
  17. I'm confused ! If the suites are still showing as being available, why was your booking not accepted ?
  18. You will likely be flying out of Barbados late afternoon, arriving back into London shortly after 6am the following day. Unfortunately, P&O do not normally issue precise timings very far in advance, so that is just speculative. On arrival in London, you would have to do through Border Control, collect your luggage, and then check in for your flight to Scotland, pass through security etc. Personally I would want a minimum of three hours between the arrival from Barbados and the departure time to Scotland. Even then, as we all know, flights can be delayed. So, after, all that, my preference would not to book any flight earlier than 11am !
  19. I think the drinks "flow" if you book PE.
  20. One of the advantages is that if the aircraft is late (assuming it is a TUI charter flight) the ship will wait for you. If you want to arrange your own flights, there is no reduction on the fly/cruise option, so you would, in effect, be paying twice for the flights.
  21. Hopefully you haven't linked your Google account to a credit card .
  22. I got as far as entering the email and password page, and then bailed out ! As long as you haven't given them any personal details, (I'm sure you haven't) I think you can just ignore them. But, I would delete the app from your appliance, if you installed it. As I said yesterday, a thoroughly unprofessional update from CC.
  23. Ok John, just a misunderstanding on my part. You are right though, in that if a waiter is "spare" at the bar, the order will go through them, but if not, the bar tender will enter the order themselves.
