  1. Same problem - 2 weeks out; have been trying with no luck.
  2. It might be easier to use the street cars to go from hotel to Embarcadero. All at street level and you can catch it right across Market Street from the hotel.
  3. I love to go to SF - so much to do. I would suggest that if you go to Alcatraz that you book the first ferry over in the morning. Fewer people on the island and the return ride shouldn't be as crowded. As philob suggested I would get a multi-day transit pass, much less expensive. One ride on the cable car is now $8.00. Unlimited rides with the pass. I like Pier 39 (yes, I know it is a tourist trap but I am a tourist) and watching the sea lions there. Happy Anniversary and have a great time!
  4. We're doing B2B on the Emerald 12/18-1/17/23. It looks like they've removed Nicaragua just thru the end of 2022 for now. Our travel summary for 12/18 says it was removed "due to temporary government restrictions on cruise ships".. Perhaps Nicaragua is only doing thar thru the end of 2022. The port stop still shows for our 1/2/23 segment.
  5. It's kind of strange - we're doing a B2B Panama Canal leaving LA on 12/18/22 - the stop at San Juan del Sur was cancelled and changed to a sea day. It shows as an itinerary change on travel summary. On the return leg, (1/2/23) the port is still showing and nothing mentioned on the summary. Guess we'll just wait and see.
  6. The good thing about getting it at the IC is there is a bar next to it for a shot of Bailey's or Peppermint Schnapps.
  7. We're doin Pamama Canal B2B, the port shows cancelled for the 12/18/22 (port day was 12/25) portion but not the return portion on 1/2/23. (port day 1/10/23).
  8. We're on the 1/2/23 Panama cruise and had an excursion there cancelled as well. (the one to the ruins). I was really looking forward to it, nothing else caught my fancy. Might just make it a beach day, there's on at the end of the pier.
  9. I do that as well. Love going shopping after that gift card comes.
  10. We'll be cruising out of there on Princess in December. Did you have to arrange for a wheelchair assist in advance? My husband has some moblility issues and needs help up the long gangway onto the ship and also can't stand for longer than a minute in a line. Thanks
  11. Hi zarajoy, if you look under Special Interest Cruising and then under Disabled Cruising there is a whole thread on cruising with a Service Dog. Good luck and happy cruising.
  12. Same with us, would take CC if it had a covered balcony. We do a suite if we can swing the cost, otherwise a regular mini with a covered balcony.
  13. Like the OP, I was surprised not to see sinks on the Ruby. We were on her in August for Alaska. I used the sink in the nearby restroom as I am not a fan of hand sanitizer.
  14. Please be sure to emphasize this on your post cruise survey. Maybe if enough people complain they will do something. (but not holding my breath)
  15. I guess it is different at different ports - In San Francisco, the first person stays with you thru security and check in and then hands you off the the Princess employee. It is really a big help and we much appreciate it. I don't think my husband would be able to cruise without them.
  16. Yes, there will be someone at the port. Just ask when you're dropping off luggage. They will take you thru security and check-in and then hand you over to a Princess employee to get you on the ship. They will take you to wherever on the ship you want to be left off. My DH has trouble walking more that a short distance and trouble on the incline of the gangway. We tip at least $10 each (DH is a little on the larger size.) I hope you have a great trip.
  17. Hi, I've been following this and making note of the car services that can pick you up curbside, which we will need - my DH has mobility issues. Does anyone know of a service that will meet your at baggage claim to help with your luggage? Thanks.
  18. We also book mini-suites and would consider Club Class except those cabins seem to be on the Dolphin deck with the balconies being fully uncovered, so no shelter from the elements or from the cabins above. We usually book the aft mini-suites on Emerald that have fully covered balconies. We consider that a better location than mid ship. A little bit further to walk but that's ok; it burns off a few more calories.
  19. My DH and I always stay at the Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's Wharf. It is clean, safe and walkable to many restaurants and public transportation. After having a complimenary hot breakfast in the morning we have the front desk call a taxi for us and make our way to the port. It's just a few minutes ride and under $20.
  20. We did B2B on the Ruby to Alaska last month with Princess Plus. No mugs.
  21. When looking at the excursion details on the Princess website it shows the walking distance, e.g.5 or 10 or 100, it that feet, yards or what? My hubby has some mobility issues so the distance is important. Thanks
