  1. I will be going on my first O cruise in a week so forgive me if this has already been addressed. We are spending a few days in France prior to embarkation and would like to bring a couple of bottles of wine on board. Is this permitted? On Viking River Cruise we could bring as many bottles as we wanted.
  2. We have canceled the day before and had no problems receiving money back on our account.
  3. Personally I would choose the LAX departure rather than Fort Lauderdale. Getting from the boat to airport is not always easy at LAX while the Fort Lauderdale departure is easy.
  4. Wish they would do something like this for everyone. I would definitely pay extra for something like this.
  5. I'm currently on hold with my TA. So far I would save $1100 on my cruise - they somehow allowed me to book as a solo without charging me the normal supplement. I actually went in to Princess and did a mock booking. Hope it works out. I'm in an interior cabin and they discounted it 50% and still had OBC. Happy Days!
  6. This past February I was on the Sky and it was at 100% capacity all month. This was mentioned at the Captain's dinner each week.
  7. I would put the money into on board credit. Talk with your travel advisor or call princess direct.
  8. After we went through all of the booking items she placed me on hold and called Princess regarding portion for casino
  9. Casino Credit was listed in my profile as available if I booked before a certain date.
  10. I just booked a cruise and was given the above promo without having to ask. $100 deposit and 250 OBC plus 200 casino credit and 25 future cruise deposit credit. Very happy with this deal done through the box store and cruise was 500 cheaper than Princess. Also, an additional 100 Shareholder credit. Received an upgrade. Happy Camper.
  11. I'm not sure what's going on with my booking. I paid my deposit yesterday and paid the amount over the phone because web-site would not allow me to pay on-line. I received a confirmation e-mail and my deposit amount was shown as $200. Went to check today and now booking has disappeared entirely yet I had received a confirmation e-mail. I called and Princess rep indicated it was cancelled because deposit was actually $400. Went round and round that I had given my deposit of 200 yesterday and if I had known they wanted 400 I would have gladly paid it. Somehow after numerous times on hold, my reservation was reinstated but for some reason they now showed a payment of 600 and I had also lost 100 of OBC and they had also added a transfer fee for transportation to and from the ship which was never included in the first place. I then went and tried a mock booking and it shows I only needed a 100 deposit. When will they ever get things straight? Every time I try and book something on line or try to make payments the website seems to have problems. This is very frustrating.
  12. I would probably take the Crown. I loved Victoria. Butchart gardens were beautiful and I'm not sure that you would have the time to visit while on the Majestic. Also, the arrival time on the Majestic is 1 PM while on the Crown it is 7:30 AM.
  13. Not sure if it's just club class, but a waiter cut up the food for a elderly person (I know, we're all elderly). Her daughter was at the table and asked waiter to do it.
  14. While on the Sky last month, I noticed the same thing and I guess it may be because there are no other seats close buy to listen to entertainment in the Piazza. Sky was at max passenger count for the entire month of February so a lot of people looking for seats.
  15. Just returned last week from a cruise in Fort Lauderdale. Cab ride from ship to airport was $16 (20 with tip).
  16. I am elite and was on the Sky for the month of February. The elite line at guest services was to the far right and even though I went to guest services numerous times during the cruise, I never had to wait more than a few minutes.
  17. Just got off the Sky yesterday and took cab to airport. Used EZ Air. Also, there was no notification in the stateroom. I went on Wednesday to see if it was still offered and guest services said it should have been left in the cabin on Tuesday. They still allowed me to sign up. Not sure if because if being elite had anything to do with it. They were very nice about it.
  18. I just received upgrade to E420 from an interior room (Lido deck). The deck plan shows the balcony is partially angled and on Emerald deck. Category is BW balcony obstructed view. I bid minimum bid on two categories - one w/o balcony obstructed view and one with balcony obstructed view. I'm very happy with this as it looks like it may not be as obstructed as others on that deck. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of any obstructed balcony views on Emerald deck? Thanks for your help.
  19. I'm on the Sky beginning February 4th for four weeks. I also am in same balcony cabin for first three weeks and the last week in a guaranteed interior (IC) cabin and have bid to upgrade. Still haven't heard yet about bidding results and have not yet received a cabin assignment. Hoping my bid gets accepted or maybe a free upgrade. How many people are on your cruise. Looks like next couple of sailings are full. Have fun.
  20. If the cruise is port intensive you may want to reconsider buying the package. Also, depending on the time of year they may not be spending much time on the balcony. Another thing to consider is booking the obstructed balcony and then putting in a bid for the upgrade.
  21. how do you know if your bid is still pending? I bid a few months ago for an upgrade on cruise departing Feb 25.

  23. Depending on which ship they are on, most ships have a sit-down restaurant called Alfredos. It wasn't until my third cruise that I realized there is no charge. Menus vary but primarily Italian pizzeria type menu. Pizza, calzones. etc. Here is a list of other possible restaurants venues that are on many Princess ships. I'm sure I missed other places on board. Below is a pdf file which explains all or most of the dining options on all princess ships . The first column lists which ships have which restaurants. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/food-and-dining/dining-options.pdf I enjoy the International cafe where you can get specialty coffee and tea along with deli type food. If you ask nicely, they will usually have fresh baked cookies in the back. I also like Swirls Ice Cream on the Lido deck. I hope they enjoy their cruise as much as I have enjoyed mine..
