  1. I only have the renderings to look at but IMO, it would have been better to have made these 2BR (upstairs)/2.5 bathroom staterooms. The 1st floor could have used the space for living room & dining room with a 1/2 bath while upstairs would have been for sleeping. I'm booked in a Duplex Suite on MSC World America and it will be my first time in a Duplex stateroom. It only has 1 BR/2BA but it does have an upper and lower balcony with a hot tub on the lower balcony. I'm not crazy about the location of that one, either but I'll see how it is in 2025.
  2. NCL used to stock that in The Haven. It probably all comes from the same factory and cost pennies per case.
  3. Those things really shouldn't be in the hallways. It's a safety hazard and not just an inconvenience for other guests.
  4. That's probably a side effect of the old Concierge Class. Those HJ/HI staterooms weren't always Haven staterooms. When they were Concierge staterooms, they were probably using the Gold mattresses instead of the usual Tranquility mattresses that are found in the Haven.
  5. In that case, put the kids on the sofa bed. The stateroom can sleep up to 4 people. This whole time, I thought that you had 2 interior staterooms in the Yacht Club.
  6. The safer solution instead of hoping for day passes is to make a reservation in a specialty restaurant. The concierge can help with the reservation for more people than are staying in the Yacht Club staterooms with you. With a full Yacht Club ("...there is no availability anywhere"), trying to add anyone else into the enclave will be tough. In a perfect world, there would be no day passes, no interlopers, no "guests of the crew/family members of VIPs", etc. and the Yacht Club would only be for Yacht Club guests. If you have 2 interior staterooms, the only bedding option is the standard beds. They can be separated or combined into 1 bed.... There are many bed types on MSC that drop from the ceiling, the wall, of even extend up from the sofa to accommodate sleeping higher than the usual sofa bed but your interior staterooms do not have any of those. One option is to bring an inflatable twin mattress and put it on the floor for the 8 year-old and have the 2-3 year-old sleep in the bed with the parents. You will have the other stateroom to hang out in during the day.
  7. A little known perk is that seats (such as front row) can be held for Yacht Club guests. The reserved section is more of a backup plan so that YC guests will have a seat in case the rest of the theater is filled. On NCL, the Haven section is generally off to the side. It's not great but it is better than the Yacht Club reserved section. On some MSC ships, the reserved section is near the front and in the center. Just one of the MSC inconsistencies... I've noted this in my reviews, too. It helps to be persistent with requests and sometimes, the concierge will come through for you. It's hit or miss.
  8. Don't forget SeaVIEW. 😛 Nah, there's no need to feel embarrassed. Enjoy one of the amenities of being in the Yacht Club. For as little as $5, you can get your escort to walk you through the terminal and chant....
  9. While on your cruise, base your tipping amount (if any) on the quality and level of service that you receive. No one on this forum can tell you what is appropriate for you to tip. Forum members can tell you what THEY tip but you should tip based on your experience, not theirs. You cannot get it wrong if you do what you feel is right.
  10. If you need a second chair and it fits, ask the steward to bring one. Depending on which deck you are on, there may already be a 2nd lounger there if a previous guest requested one. Some previous guests ask for less furniture and a chair can also be removed. You won't really know what is there until you get there.
  11. I agree. Unfortunately, what happens far too often is that people trying a new (to them) cruise line will focus on the differences and the review will be filled with "...but I like how our usual cruise line does things.." and the review will be negative. No cruise line is perfect. No ship is perfect. No cruise is perfect. If people decide to spend their vacation looking for things to complain about, things will easily be found. You'll probably find that more people prefer NCL to RCCL when on the NCL forum. You'll probably find that more people prefer RCCL to NCL when on the RCCL forum. The 2 lines are more the same than different. Celebrity and Cunard are generally an older demographic (empty nester types) but RCCL and NCL will generally have younger people, parents with young children, and possibly the grandparents who get suckered into babysitting. 😁
  12. If you could get any names of the current YC staff (concierge, butlers, bartenders, etc.), that would be appreciated.
  13. By my count... Seaside - 86 Meraviglia - 103 Seashore - 131 I'll double check later when I'm at a desktop. Counting on the phone is harder.
  14. I agree with your suspicion. I also believe that following a holiday cruise (which will be packed with demanding guests), the crew suffers from a bit of burnout. Supplies will need to be replenished and the shorter cruises probably aren't as high of a priority as the 7 night cruises are.
  15. I agree that 6 adults is borderline horrible but for the Haven, the 2nd bedroom on Prima/Viva is better than the 2nd bedroom on the BA/BA Plus ships.
  16. Booking for 4 is fine for groups of 3. The table is the same. There will just be 1 unused seat at the table. There is no fee for the missing 4th person.
  17. Yes. Tell your butler or concierge which one that you want to be reserved for you. Both the Royal Suites and the Owner's Suites have a cabana reserved for each of the 4 staterooms. If you want one that is available, let the right people know and it will be yours for the entire cruise.
  18. I'm not aware of any significant differences within that category. There are very few photos of particular staterooms on the World Class ships but I'm on the lookout for them.
  19. Do you have the invoice that shows the FAS promo and 20% service charge? Did the rep cancel/rebook without adding the FAS promo or was it never there to begin with? If you had it before and paid for it, you don't need to pay it again. (If the promo is not listed originally, it correctly wouldn't be added automatically) Promo status wouldn't change in that case. If they were there originally and paid with the original booking, they should still be there. If they were never there and want to be added, the approx. $350 would correctly be added.
  20. Yacht Club...easy choice. The experience will be very different as far as crowds and service.
  21. Relationships never work when one is too clingy. 🤭
  22. These used to also be included but not anymore. However, if your butler is in a good mood, he/she might bring you either one (or both) without charge. You might get lucky (especially if you have children) based on our experience.
