  1. MSC does serve alcohol and does have an international clientele.......🥴
  2. I mostly agree. The OP probably didn't get the comedic reference. When I read it, I actually pictured Steve and heard the voice in my head but that's just the movie/tv buff that I am. Does the OP watch "Only Murders in the Building"? Steve isn't the only former SNL actor on that show. Those early SNL episodes were way before my time but there have been so many stars that can trace back to SNL, I can go back and see what today's stars were like before they were stars. Maybe a simple emoji (or emoticon if you're old) at the end of the sentence would help in the future. The OP joined CC 18 years ago. Unless she joined as a toddler, I wouldn't consider her to be a "kid". 😁
  3. Things don't always work in a way that is best for the customer. For example, I want massaging seats in my next car. My wife hates massaging seats. The option box for the car is either both front seats get massaging seats (for $200 total) or neither gets massaging seats. It's either both or neither. Is there a $100 option for just the driver to get a massaging seat while the passenger gets a standard seat? No. Will the driver who wants a massaging seat be paying for something that the passenger doesn't want and will never use? Yes. Is there a FAS option for just guest #1 to get the PBP while guest #2 does not? No. Will guest #1 who wants the PBP be paying for something that guest #2 doesn't want and will never use? Yes. Even at Burger King, you can't always have it your way.
  4. I thought that it was funny. I thought that assuming that the OP was a male was just a simple mistake. I thought that MOTS was actually on the OP's side and was pointing out that MSC phone reps might make things worse than losing the deposit. I thought that we could all have a good laugh at the ineptitude of the reps when it comes to this simple matter......... .....but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (John Belushi reference) 😄
  5. Thank you for the info on 19011 as far as the walk-in closet. I'm making a list of which Deluxe Grand Suites have a walk-in closet and which ones don't. Most of them do and nearly all on deck 19 do but some do not.
  6. How recently was "...Epic bathroom..." discussed? 😄
  7. POSH access is included for Haven adults and passes are sold to a very small number of non-Haven adult guests. An alternative is Spice H2O which is adult-only during the day and is included with no additional cost.
  8. Just to add, you can't always trust the deck plans for bed location. In reality, the wider part of the stateroom is where the bed is for this category. Unfortunately, there have been errors found where the deck plan shows one thing but the bed is actually in the other location (near balcony vs. near closet). The ship has been around for long enough so there are actual photos/videos of many of the staterooms so if bed location is important, use the photos/videos for the specific stateroom.
  9. The M6s are all on deck 8 forward. The standard side balconies on Getaway/Breakaway are very small. The M6 balconies are several times larger/deeper. This photo is Breakaway but Getaway is the same. The M6s are the larger balconies that have a view down to the water. NCL has tweaked some of the alphanumeric codes since this photo was made and has changed some of the "sail away" staterooms but the photo shows the physical size of the balconies. There will probably be more furniture on the balconies (chairs and loungers) since most people request them. The crew will likely leave the extras there unless a guest requests for the furniture to be removed.
  10. You can see when it is due on your confirmation pdf...... Final Amount Due within (due date) (amount) ...and after making final payment, you MIGHT get a confirmation pdf. showing the total paid and a balance of $0. I always pay about a week early just in case something goes wrong on their end. The bank (or cc company) might want to confirm with you before letting things go through. I've done both online payment and over the phone (when the site was acting up) and most of the time, everything is applied properly.
  11. That would be great but is unlikely. Before Covid, I was planning on flying down there to sail Seaview. The prices were good and the flights weren't bad. San Juan would be easier and could compete with the other lines that sail out of PR. The "arms race" for largest cruise ship is probably over. RCCL is winning the war and doesn't seem likely to let any ship be larger than the largest "...of the Seas". It's cool to see what the lines come up with when they both steal from each other and try to out do each other.
  12. We all know that nothing is consistent with MSC. I've had butlers bring me a drink (plastic cup, of course) while I was in the pool. No drinks near the pool might be enforced outside of the Yacht Club but inside,...it's about 50/50. Again, it can be 50/50...or maybe 75/25 as far as enforcement. I've had drinks delivered and I've gotten drinks myself in the theater before a show. I even asked the person working the door if it was ok and he said "Sure, no problem". The next night, I did see the cleaning crew cleaning up a spilled drink so I suspect that from that night forward, drinks were no longer allowed in the theater.
  13. This tells me that you weren't in The Retreat, correct? I'm guessing that you aren't asking about how the Yacht Club compares to the Haven. The sports bar on the the Sea**** ships is a much better setup. I've sailed on 3 out of 4 of those ships at least once and will be sailing the 4th in a few months. The sailings were all in the Yacht Club so if you are looking at Yacht Club (less expensive than Haven in most cases), I can compare MSC to the larger NCL ships/Haven. If you're not thinking of Yacht Club, which MSC experience are you considering? With NCL's larger ships, it's pretty much Haven or "everyone else". With MSC, there are more levels as you go from Yacht Club to Aurea to Fantastica to Bella and each level has differences that can make or break the cruise. Looking down the line, MSC is bringing World America to Florida and that ship is really the first to challenge the Oasis Class from RCCL as far as size and "stuff" (RCCL ICON Class is another level up). It will be larger than any NCL ship for the foreseeable future. The Prima Class ships being built later might grow but won't grow to World Class size. It might help if you could tell us more of what you are interested in as far as the ship's amenities such as water-slides, zip-lines, bowling, 4D/5D simulators, etc.
  14. When logged in on the website, do you see the other booking after you click "All my cruises" in the top right above the word "Booked"? If you see the other cruise and view that one ("See details") last before exiting, it will be that one that you see first when you log in the next time.
  15. My earliest memory is $79 for the week but it may have been lower before that. As for the party atmosphere vs. library, it depends more on the guests who happen to be there. NCL doesn't really care which "vibe" is in the VIBE Beach Club once NCL has your money.
  16. These 2 things together give the edge to Escape...unless go-karts are important.
  17. I post photos here for free. It doesn't really bother me that others can take those photos and get paid 50 cents for each one. I get even by posting their "members only" photos here for everyone to see....even though I'm not a member. 😎
  18. People can critique cruises....hence, the name of the site. 😉
  19. 1. More 2 bedroom and/or 2 bathroom options for the larger suites. 2. Better dining options for the larger suites (either inside or on the balcony) including lunch/dinner. 3. Bring the cabanas back and lose the pergolas. 4. More live piano/violin for the TSL. 5. A block of specialty restaurant reservations set aside exclusively for Yacht Club guests. 6. Larger Yacht Club pool(s). 7. Improved elevator hijack. 8. Larger Ocean Cay area (commandeer part of Bimini beach). 9. Better enforcement of Yacht Club areas (interloper prevention). 10. Exclusive excursions. I'll give some more later....😁
