  1. Given the seemingly increased rates of fights on their ships, maybe Carnival should have chosen to keep their loyal guests happy vs. courting new guests from the bottom of the barrel.
  2. So charge us more. Look at Disney - they had to close their park for COVID, they've started charging more for everything, and yet the parks are still full every day. People want to travel and they want a good experience when they're spending their money.
  3. "At least it's cheap" and "I'm just happy to be cruising again" aren't good enough for me. I'm tired of the COVID cop outs personally.
  4. The petite filet was delicious, and consistently so. The new steak is a significant downgrade on the seaday brunch menu. But the seaday brunch menu has lots of other good options.
  5. For the first time since COVID I don't have a Carnival cruise booked, and I have no immediate plans to book another. I'm waiting for Carnival to bring their standard of service back up to where it was before COVID.
  6. Yes, those 3 years. They told us they'd be profitable 6 months ago, still not profitable, maybe these cutbacks will move the needle enough. If not then prepare for more.
  7. Tough to eat at windjammer on a Carnival cruise
  8. Doesn't affect me! I don't eat on a cruise at all! I am on a cruise, making the best of being on a cruise! A bad day on the ship is better than a good day at the office! Who needs to eat or sleep on a cruise? If I need to eat (and I promise I never do!) I can always eat the straws they give away at the bar! Carnival is so good to us! Thank you Carnival!
  9. Death by a thousand cuts. And it's not double on other lines. Not even close.
  10. Carnival Corp's debt has tripled in less than 3 years to over $35 billion, and the interest alone on their debt is $120M a month. I would agree that reorganization bankruptcy is in their near future.
  11. The story of $CCL over the past 3 years is death by a thousand cuts.
  12. I never said he wrote the policy.
  13. I put those words in quotes because those were his exact words when he announced the testing protocol change, just hours before they retraced their steps and reinstated testing for their #1 destination.
  14. Really took the wind out of John Heald's "first major step towards normalcy" sails.
  15. Carnival hasn't been profitable for going on 3 years...
  16. The high rollers got smoking back in the casino PDQ... The casino is Carnival's best hope to get back to the black, that's why they've been so generous with casino offers (even to casual gamers) since the restart.
  17. Now build in the cost of your drinks, excursions, better food, gratuities, etc., to your Carnival balcony. It is an all inclusive, after all.
  18. They had bacon shards until the COVID restart's "bacon crisis" I have not seen self-service bacon on a Carnival ship in years. Granted I have not been on every Carnival ship so it's possible I've missed one or two. But it's been years for me. Here lately even the stinking reconstituted ham is sometimes in the back and you have to ask for it! Give me a break!
  19. You'd have to ask Carnival why they're standing alone I think.
  20. Same reason why pizza is now the only late night food option. People will walk down to the pizza pirate, see the line, say "I'm not really that hungry" and go to bed. For a "party ship" they really don't have much going on after 11PM other than the disco...
  21. You can't buy Chat until you get onboard and connect to the ship's wifi.
  22. My guess is they're not building it in to the app because within a few months all room service will have a charge, so they'd have to re-do it anyway. Lido on many ships with limited other options is already crowded enough as it is. I'm sure Sea Day Brunch on Mardi Gras or Horizon isn't as popular with so many other options, but on Ecstasy or Glory it's very popular because there aren't as many other choices. So I do agree this will have a very negative effect on Carnival, because they're negatively affecting their drive-to ships the most.
  23. They just use regular old laundry soap, they can't use anything with scent or perfumes to it as so many people have allergies. Thank God you told us you were Diamond though, I can't imagine what I would have done had I not known.
  24. You can pay $5 per person per cruise to chat with each other on the Hub app. Obviously this is only to chat with folks on the cruise. You can't use it to chat with folks at home. Everyone who wants to chat has to pay the $5. It worked for me on my last Sunshine cruise in May, but that was the only time it's worked for me. I just connected to the Carnival WiFi, didn't buy a plan, and was able to iMessage text for free. No SMS and no photo/video iMessages, just text. I doubt it's advertised since it eats into their revenue.
  25. What are you talking about? What did I say was inaccurate?
