  1. It really is a lot farther walk than it seems when you are at the last berth! Last time in Nassau I was on Sunshine and we were the first berth - closest to the city. That was nice! The new pier in Nassau will be very nice when it's done!
  2. Well, the vaccine exemption process is for cruises through 12/31/22, that's what I was talking about.
  3. Carnival's current protocols are only in effect through the end of this year. We don't know what protocols will look like in January yet.
  4. Things may have changed since I was in Bermuda on the Ecstasy, but I think I remember the ship opening its casino even on the night we stayed berthed. But I didn't think of the shops - that's probably why they do maneuvers overnight.
  5. They often do this during overnight stays in Bermuda, I don't know why exactly.
  6. I just hate being the go-between with other people's money. Even for little things like group retirement gifts at work, I don't like handling other people's money.
  7. Crazy you have to stand in line and camp out for a spot, hopefully as the concept spreads to more ships they can build it into the Hub app or at least make tickets available at the Excursion desk!
  8. I think you have to put the name of at least one person in each room. The rest can be TBA. Beware that a lot of people are all gung-ho to go until it comes time to pay. My unsolicited advice is to give them the number of your travel agent, PVP, etc., and let them book their own rooms.
  9. Have you heard of a single instance of this happening or are you just spreading FUD?
  10. The keys are in a sealed envelope. There is nothing in the rooms until the guests pick up their keys and start moving in. So there is no incentive to steal the keys. The most they'll get away with is a life vest or towel.
  11. There is nothing in your room until you get your key and start moving in so there is no benefit to stealing the cards. It saves time at the pier. Nowadays they don't even have to take your photo, they can download it off your passport. That adds up to a decent bit of time saved - and when everything is working properly, the lines at the pier are noticeably shorter than before.
  12. Both are fairly old small ships, neither will have substantially more than the other. The port days will be the focus. Both ships have water slides, pool, kid's club, etc.
  13. The problem is it's a smaller ship that holds more passengers than the Conquest class. During busy times of the year the ships are quite crowded. Indeed. Over holidays and Summer they might as well call the Sunrise and Sunshine the Carnival Sunline.
  14. Nowadays you can't even get a baked potato every night of the week. Even on elegant night you just get a half a overcooked potato with burnt cheez-whiz on top.
  15. I've been on the Sunshine 5 or 6 times and have stayed all over the ship, from Deck 1 to Deck 12 (I think). The amount of motion I've felt is pretty much the same. I am not prone to sickness so it doesn't bother me. If you are prone to sickness then you may need to get some Dramamine, ginger candy, or some other treatment.
  16. I'd say you should have had your fall cruises booked before all this yes. But I think looking out past Christmas for the most part the relaxed protocols are already priced in.
  17. Wow that is disappointing! That place was awesome!
  18. Yes they are gone, a COVID cop-out, will probably never come back at this point but who can say for sure.
  19. They have plenty of places to dock ships, they're a fairly large port. But nowhere set up for cruise ships that can accommodate a modern Carnival ship.
  20. Basically the Oriental Trading catalog explodes over the Lido deck...
  21. Isn't that like putting your mortgage payment on a credit card?
  22. They do not serve tortilla chips actually.
