  1. Exactly, they should have left the tomato soup off the menu. We're going to be spoiled now and expect things like bacon and whole eggs.
  2. they don’t want anyone to actually order this stuff. $5 for a PB&J? Insulting.
  3. All the cutbacks and pretty soon "free" is all the cruises will be worth.
  4. It's true, the little things like that, bath robes in the wardrobe, twice daily room service, chocolate on the pillow - made you feel pampered. Carnival has lost a lot of that charm it used to have.
  5. Pizza is supposed to be open 9AM-4AM. But on the Sunshine this past week there was rarely anyone working at the pizza place until around Noon. From 11:30PM-1AM, the Pizza place sets out trays of Stouffer's Lasagna and Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and Meatballs on some nights. It's supposed to be every night according to the Hub app. At least one night on Sunshine this past week, they didn't set out anything extra and the line for pizza was probably 15-20 deep. Carnival's included food program is basically worse than Golden Corral right now in my opinion.
  6. 18% service charge is added to all checks. gratuity is customary for all deliveries but not required obviously. The service charge is just additional profit for Carnival ($5 for a dry PB&J isn't enough as it is), it is not a tip given to the delivery or kitchen crew. If it was a tip they'd call it a gratuity. I don't want to get into a tipping debate. I used to always tip for room service deliveries. I doubt I'll ever order room service on Carnival again - at these prices it's obvious they don't want anyone to actually order anything. $5 for a dry PB&J and $7 for half an order of TGI Friday's frozen chicken tenders is an insult.
  7. $5 for a PB&J plus "service charge" plus customary tip. It's darn close to $20 for my wife and I to get a sandwich delivered after a port day. Carnival is pricing me off of their ships!
  8. Depending on the ship at least the kiosks are better than they used to be. I am not sure if all the ships have the new white kiosks with the tall screens or not. But those that do, they work much better than the old blue and red ones.
  9. Customs is still there and they use facial recognition to flag people if need be. But I guess they decided it wasn't worth the effort to track down most cruisers for the duty on a few bottles of liquor or cartons of cigarettes. So they mostly just wave people on through nowadays.
  10. The current platinum gift is a "slap bracelet" koozie. I know it's nothing special but I always use a tumbler and these koozies work great with them. Get it while it lasts, wouldn't be surprised if they change the program soon and do away with it altogether.
  11. Don't people waste the nasty danishes and cold cereal they hand out "complimentary" during breakfast hours? Gotta figure that's next on the chopping block...
  12. Yeah according to the menu the cookie and chips are still included. So at least there's that I guess.
  13. When they teased a "new expanded" menu I figured all they'd do is add prices and send it out. To me $5 for a PB&J is an insult. There is nothing good about this change at all.
  14. I thought they were going to offer a "new expanded" menu when included room service went away. The only thing they expanded is the prices. What a major disappointment.
  15. You've said yourself that Carnival is trending towards getting more revenue out of people. Ray Charles can see this is next.
  16. The included continental breakfast delivery will surely go away very soon. But the a la carte room service is here to stay as it costs Carnival very little to provide and earns some revenue.
  17. Carnival's answer to that is to just make the food on Lido cheaper. I never saw so much rice as on my cruise on Sunshine last week. And they had the audacity to cut the tiny baked potatoes in half. I say this being entirely truthful I get a better meal at Golden Corral than the Carnival Lido buffet in 2022. Now I can always find something to eat (except breakfast where I think everything on the buffet is just disgusting) so I don't complain too much. But the food quality on the buffet has nosedived since COVID. Carnival has really diluted their product.
  18. Power outages are not routine that's for sure.
  19. That was always part of the plan for Starlink.
  20. Nobody is here saying Carnival is alone in diluting their product. But it sort of makes sense that when you're on a Carnival forum, most of the discussion will be about Carnival's product.
  21. As of earlier this week on Sunshine the menu did not specify that the Steakhouse Selections lobster is a Maine Lobster tail. The Steakhouse menu did specify a Maine lobster tail.
  22. Unless it specifically says Maine Lobster on the menu (such as the steakhouse's menu) then it's a rock lobster.
  23. The bacon crisis in particular only exists on Carnival vessels.
