  1. The fact that a cruise is an optional activity does not allow the government the right to unreasonable search and seizure in my opinion. "They are a private company" is a misleading statement that is thrown around a lot these days - and is often not telling the entire truth.
  2. That's a cute little saying but it's far from the reality of the situation of course. Marijuana today is much more potent than the stuff Cheech and Chong paraded.
  3. They have to keep the drugs off the ships. I am not really in favor of suspicion-less searches by anybody - least of all the government. But given how out of control the drug problem has been on Carnival lately, and the violence and all that often goes hand-in-hand with drug use - they have to do something. I am not really sure what other options Carnival has to keep drugs off their ships.
  4. That is a good point - during the COVID restrictions/protocols era things were different. But as you said, that was then.
  5. Exactly my question. Never let facts get in the way of a good rant though, right?
  6. Boarding typically begins around 10-10:30 but it depends on a lot of factors faster to the fun no longer allows you to disregard your arrival appointment - you still have to abide by it. But when you arrive, you proceed through the process in a separate line.
  7. I’d like to think that because I can’t think of any reason why they’d wait.
  8. It's not just the Vista class that has had issues with azipods. Royal has had issues. NCL. Even Disney has had issues with Azipods. Why are some on here trying to gaslight? Amazing how long people can bleat on about things they know absolutely nothing about.
  9. Yes, you just put the Kindle and/or Libby apps on the onn tablet.
  10. They knew about this at least on Sunday. Why wait all week to make an announcement.
  11. It is not supported on Fire tablets. I have never tried it but you should be able to get it to work on the Walmart onn tablet which is basically the same thing as a fire tablet, but runs regular Android rather than Amazon's version. I will say that especially if you have set dining, it is possible to get by without using the hub app nowadays. Dining reservations is really the only thing that they really push you to use the hub app for still.
  12. Most ships are that way js - The midship MDR is anytime. Fantasy, Conquest, and Dream class are for sure. I have never been on Sunrise, but I have sailed Sunshine many times and on Sunshine the aft dining room is anytime.
  13. Common criticism here, "I don't eat bacon so I don't care that it goes on bacation" "I don't use the bathroom so I don't care that the toilets on the Triumph didn't work and people were flooded with sewage" etc. At best it's pathological narcissism.
  14. Discussed here on the deck-by-deck features. https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5431 midship is set time, aft is anytime.
  15. We do not criticize Carnival here under any circumstances, despite the name of the site.
  16. continental breakfast (dry pastries, cold cereal, juice, coffee) in the morning is complimentary. All other room service items (including hot breakfast) and all other times are priced a la carte.
  17. It's all marketing gobbledygook - it's a used ship that Carnival wire-wheeled the name COSTA off of in some places and painted CARNIVAL in its place. Still, it's probably going to be the closest to "new" Carnival gets for years and years - since it will debut after Jubilee. There are no further new builds expected for Carnival for quite some time after Jubilee.
  18. Travel insurance that includes cancel for work reasons would presumably cover the granddaughter's fees, but not everyone else who apparently suddenly think they can't go either.
  19. The program's title is very descriptive, and the terms of the deal are in the fine print. Reading is fundamental. Some will say you can order from the bar, by the rules of the program you must be actively playing at a table or machine, so don't act surprised if the bartender tells you "no".
  20. There is no cruise line where you can cancel within 45 days and only pay a 10% penalty. Sounds like you have unrealistic expectations. Sorry this is happening to you but as the saying goes, ignorance of the law is no excuse. Cruise lines aren't like hotels where you can cancel with little penalty, never have been and never will be.
  21. I always thought the same but then I had someone tell me here they were able to do it so I mentioned it in case it's something new I was unaware of.
  22. I wanted to do a similar thing but perhaps since I only paid a $100 deposit, they wouldn't do it.
  23. Did you call a PVP or the Casino host? I tried both and was told I was paying the $50 fee, no way around it.
  24. Try that and let me know, I've tried several times since they got rid of vaccine mandates and was told they're no longer waiving fees under any circumstances. When's the last time you got a fee waived?
  25. Why? You still pay a penalty if you have a PVP or TA...you mean just so people have somebody to call and ask questions like this?
