I won't order a cake or celebration package again.  We were on the Eclipse for my father's 95th birthday and I preordered a birthday cake and to have his room decorated for the big day.  As of 8 PM and being in contact with guest services, his room still hadn't been decorated.  The cake was delivered to his room at 9:45 PM.

How unfortunate!  I know you must have been disappointed and rightfully so!  However, imo this was a shortcoming of the staff on Eclipse, not the celebration package in general. We had a similar package on both Ascent and Equinox and both times were flawlessly executed. I hope customer relations on Eclipse provided you a refund for dropping the ball.

  2. Well we will have our first experience on Edge at the end of May but we have been on Ascent, which is also an eclass ship.  Unique to Edge (e Class) is that there is no assigned dining, despite what it might say in your cruise planner.  You can show up at your desired MDR at your desired time and be seated on a first available basis.

I also know that Edge is a bit smaller than the sisters in this class and has a different bar set up in the main foyer.

Anyone have any idea when the next sale will be?

They seem to be quite random but often they align with holidays.  Our next major holiday is coming up in May.

My problem is, my drinks package isn't even showing in my planner so there's no option to upgrade.  Not sure how to fix it.

It’s impossible to See all the threads, but that’s what the “search” feature is for.

Have you ever used the search feature?  I’ve tried in earnest several times. The problem with the search function, as mentioned in many threads…lol…is that it pulls up every post with one’s key words no matter how old  or relevant to the post may be to the inquirer of info. My go-to for searching CC is to post my question in google instead. It’s much easier to weed out the mess and hone in on a desired answer.

im not sure I would think to google my intended post ahead of starting a new thread on CC just to see if something has already been posted…but perhaps I will start.

There atleast a couple topics a month about Sharehold credit

I’m not a shareholder so maybe they’ve gone over my head. I did buy in to Carnival during the Covid halt but we sold it for a small return once it climbed back up. Our carnival days are long gone so the share holder benefits aren’t appealing. Not sure the RCL benefit is enough to entice me to buy in.

all that to say I still maintain that despite multiple threads that may occur, it’s impossible to see them all unless one monitors these boards 24/7. I made a post the other day and was told it was old news. But if wasn’t to me and possibly wasn’t to others either. Not trying to be argumentative, I just think there’s enough room on these boards to unwittingly repeat a topic and still attract new eyes.

Where were you last year when I needed this knowledge 🫣

    😄

I had to stumble on it somehow instead.

I find that old news is only old if you already knew it!  Thanks for the heads-up!

We're doing a b2b over Labor Day weekend staying in the Signature Suite, which is our favorite suite on Reflection.

I have this suite booked in July.  Would you mind elaborating on what makes this suite your favorite?

I'm guessing that benefit doesn't change even if its just a 3 and 4 night cruise.

Ours is a 4 night and I was wondering the same thing about the included liquor...is there a 7 night minimum to qualify for this perk?  Edit:  I see @Kteacher already addressed this in another post.

  8. Thank you for taking us along.  Your live from has been most helpful and enjoyable.  A random question, if I may...was wondering what facilities on board were open during the private island visit.  Do they shut everything down like all the other ports or keep things open since it's their private island?  On MSC everything on board remains open, including the casino and I like to hit it at that time when it's less crowded.  As I am taking my DM on a gambling cruise on Reflection In July, I know she would prefer to remain on board in the casino if it's open.

Thank you and safe travels home!

we were told by staff that Celebrity is trying out port day openings for lunch.

It would be nice if it was open while at the PI as many people don't get off the ship and would enjoy the quiet of Luminae....although, I understand that the crew need down time too.

  10. Exact opposite for us!  Being in a non Suite category on E class b2b is what convinced us that we didn’t need it to have an enjoyable cruise. On the suite leg of our cruise we spent the vast majority of our time outside the retreat to include Luminae, which we found bordered upon dreadful for ambience. Our next category on Beyond is a deluxe ocean view.

If you are on a E class ship it isn’t a benefit.

    M class.   Why bother.

When on board it doesn’t hurt to try.    It depends on who is at the desk.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

It will be Reflection so if we do it, will get DM a one time pass.  IMO PG isn’t that great on Celebrity, regardless of ship class. I much prefer the thermal suites on either NCL or MSC…but I digress.

Apparently Celebrity doesn’t want to sell any cruises today.

I tried 3 random sailings on 3 different browsers on two different devices.

    Or is it just me?

However, I was able to log in with my new password.

    IT baby steps.🙄🤣

And since when are staterooms and suites on cruise ships referred to as “rooms” anyway?😂🤣😂

Hmm...logging in with the new password is big!  Especially when you probably knew your old password by heart and also knew you hadn't changed it!

Regarding no rooms available, my TA told me that when that happens, they've gone into their system and are usually about to change rates.  The glass half full gal in me wants to think those new rates will be better...

Sorry my bad, I assumed it was clear enough from my question that I was the type who finds solace and pleasure in life only in geeky pursuits. I thought it was a given that  the most amount of fun anyone could have in a cruise was transforming the cabin into a man cave and fidgeting with the tv inputs and cables. I cannot thank you enough for opening my eyes to these unheard (by me) alternative ways of enjoyment, especially because they were so far outside the scope of my question. It's true, one never knows the wealth of incredible information that others are willing to go out of their way to provide. I feel truly humbled and blessed.

    Best response….ever!
